Perfect for a cold day. Base broth is OMG. Tender beef slowed cooked to perfection. Kim Chee is second to awesome too. Highly recommended even for a hot day.

Best beef broth soup(Sul Lung Tang). Hands downs. I have had many other Sul Lung Tang before but theirs is the best. They also have the kimchi juice on the table for you to add to the soup if you would like to have it spicy.

Different soup for their sul lung tang, which I like. Their meat is also very soft and tendon-like, which I like also! However, I don’t favor their prices or portion sizes. Base is $ 10, where other places are $ 8. In a Togo container bowl or ceramic serving bowl, it is like ¾ full when other places give you 5⁄6. They also don’t have glass noodles, only rice noodles. But, overall, it is delicious :)

Everyone has their tastes and preferences. This, to be particular my review, could come as a shock to some but most would agree: The exterior itself was inviting and fresh. The service was spunky with good intentions, but lacked an experienced finesse. As I swirled the soup around in my mouth I could tell all the right flavored were there, but it just couldn’t measure up. I finished with the tea. As I sipped and slurped I had a faint reminder of that youngness I so crave, which gave me a brief shot of ecstasy. In the end it was a fun little fling that some would find like no other, but for me an my preferences, I would protest that a better experienced hand and more easy-going likeness would help in the long run. All in all 3 stars out of 5, I went in with big expectations but they couldn’t measure up…

This place was one of my best korean restaurants in town but now I feel so bad about my experience. The lights were out right after I started my meal. The whole area was blacked out so it was so dark and the light did not back on until we left. At first, me and my husband tried to eat with flash light. She said we needed to pay cash because the card machine did not work. Feeling uncomfortable, i could not finish my dish and had to go to ATM to withdraw the money. Unfortunately the ATM also out of order so we came back to store. We shoud wait until she called manager and found out the payment method. Finally she found some paper to pay and we could left the store. I felt very bad for paying not finished dish. The service was very disappointing… If I were her, I would say sorry and let me pay next time. I never expected that we had to go to ATM… :-(

Came here because han yan was super busy. This place… not so much. Got the house special that made me feel like I shouldn’t have eaten at all. Friend got the ox knee that was just bland(yes even after adding salt) because it didn’t have the meaty broth flavors that other places have. The waitress was super nice though. I hear the Sul lung tang is the thing to get and maybe you’ll have better luck with that, unfortunately I didn’t know beforehand and probably wont be going back.

It’s a decent place for all-around Korean food, but I think eating at Tang(in Irvine) all this time has ruined me because nothing can beat their soups for me. I ordered the sullungtung, and my friend ordered the gohm tang. My sullungtung tasted bland and there just wasn’t that complexity or depth of flavor that is normally there. My friend seemed to like her gohm tang though. The side dishes were okay. Overall, nothing really stood out here.

Not bad at all. Love the casual family atmosphere. Just like one of those mom and pop small restaurant you see in Korean local neighborhood. Great food usually is born from places like this. Try beef cheek. Tastes awesome.

The best Korean restaurants specialize in a dish and this one has sul lung tang(beef broth soup). It’s a very simple entrée but the broth flavor here is always excellent and the meat is always prepared well. The real spotlight is the inclusion of sea salt at every table as well as the option for kimchee juice to pour into the broth. Such a simple idea that makes the soup 10x better.

My favorite restaurant down the street from my house closed down so I decided to try this place since as it is also close. I ordered the beef with no fat soup and it was sooooooo good. The waitress told me what to put in my soup. A little green onion, salt, pepper, and kimchi sauce. That kimchi sauce is SOGOOD. The meat was really good too. I am obsessed with soup and that has to be one of my favorites now. It’s definitely better than phở. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Recent visit very disappointing. Soup was bland and you can tell that they did not put a lot of effort into their food. I give them 2 stars for nice service and good kimchi. But their soup is less than average in my opinion.

Their specialty is beef soup so its taste obviously good but cold bean noodle is excellent as well. Service is also great

This place specializes in soup. I personally enjoy the ox knee bone soup, soft and tender then lots of onion topping. It comes with Kimchi and Radish side dishes, so don’t expect a lot of side dishes. Their kimchi is really good. This is my go to place every Friday.

As soon as I walked in the door the hostess/waitress ran up to me and said«all we have is beef soup, no BBQ, just soup.» I said I knew that and that’s what I was there for. That was a lie, of course. I just wanted to eat at the place called«Young Dong» because I am 12. So let’s get this out of the way; damn, is their kimchi good! Both their cabbage and daikon kimchi were so delicious the ban chan dishes had to be replaced an embarrassing number of times. We got the spicy beef brisket and it was pretty good. A little light on the actual protein, but the broth was fine. I really appreciated the carefully diced green onions. While granted the place was empty, the service was very good. Almost best of all, it opens at 8am. Sometimes you just have to start your day with a nice bowl of soup.

The best Sul lang tang place ever ! I used to go to Jang mo jip but ever since i tried Young Dong, i cannot go back to anywhere. Their soup base is so much better than any other places. I normally get brisket beef soup and spicy beef soup. Both are my favorite in this place. YOUHAVETOTRYIT ! Their kkakdugi and Kimchi are AMAZING! Hangyang and Jang mo ‘s kkakdugi are good too however, i always crave YoungDong’s kkadugi and go back.

Sul lang tang! pretty simple place with only a few meaty soupy items! order and get a huge bowl of green onions with a big bowl of radish and kimchi. basically specialize your soup the way you like it. soup was pretty bland but the saltiness of the kimchi/radish pairs well with it. good place to go for sul lang tang or kal bi tang!

Tried this 8am opener for breakfast, Korean=garlicky, breakfast? I was game. First ones in and the lady wasn’t sure if we knew where we were. She was nice took her time, as her English was limited. The menu was very limited and on the table. After looking I ordered the Spicy brisket and vegetable soup. She proceeded to fill the table with, Iced Barley tea, sauce dishes, ban chan-kimchee and Daikon kimchee, the large container of sliced green onions, and the«teapot» with kimchee soup/juice/sauce, and a dish of gook su noodles as my dish did not normally come with it. Expectations: bowl of soup, chunks of brisket, eat kimchee, drink iced tea for $ 9. Level: Rookie, at eating Korean breakfast like this. Reality: Got a large bowl, not completely filled with soup, a few strands of meat!(Clearly the translation should change) it should read«spicy(wasn’t) vegetable soup with brisket garnish, doused bowl with green onions, ate kimchee, drank the tea, ate my rice. Okay now what? Review: for $ 9 breakfast had little protein, and mostly vegetables. I researched pics and looks like I needed to order the $ 16 breakfast for any Protein upgrades. Food was all nicely served but less than memorable. I really like the tub of green onions and teapot of kimchee juice. No Oxtail, Kalbi, bulgogi, etc but they did have a knee bone soup, which sounded interesting but passed on. Conclusion is my dish should be $ 6. Would I order it again here? No. Was the restaurant clean? Appeared so. In a stand alone building with ample parking. I would recon this place by coming when its busy and watching the food delivered. Was the banchan memorable? No, standard two kim chees. Iced tea was good. Ratings: Dollar value 2 stars, quantity 2 stars, overall 2 stars.

I should have known to run away from this joint when I saw all of the government vans with men in black suits and earpieces, but I figured they were there trying to catch the people who thought«Young Dong» meant something else entirely. My boss and I tried this place out for lunch. My spicy brisket and veggie bowl was okay, meaning the spice covered up the crappy taste. My boss’s brisket and steak was disgusting … there were three strands of brisket that looked more like cat hair and the steak looked like dried up rubber cement. Seriously. All of this was bad enough, but then my boss saw the waitress scooping rice and then licking her fingers and then scooping more rice and serving tables — without washing her hands. Needless to say, won’t be going back, ever. Let’s just say that my iron-clad stomach feels a little rusty after this experience.

I came here with a girl I liked for breakfast and it was good. Their brand of sulrungtang is different from the one I normally go to up the street at Jang Mo Gip on the southeast corner of Beach Blvd and Rosecrans Ave and honestly, I like Jang Mo Gip better but this is still pretty good. They’re opened earlier than other Korean or other sulrungtang places but don’t expect it to be empty. When we went, there was quite a few people already there slurping down the soups and making me seriously hungrier by the minute as we waited for the food. The soup base is different here than other places because most sulrungtang places have white or clear soup bases whereas this one has more of a watery dark brown soup base. Not sure exactly what cut of meat they use but it is still technically sulrungtang, just not your typical kind. So I should finish this review by saying that this girl no longer talks to me and ignores my text messages. Something about not being compatible even though she liked me as well. Sigh. But at least we have this place to remember our dear moments together. Parking: Small side lot Price: $ 8+ per person Wait: 10 – 15 mins after ordering
