Bad news. O’s American Kitchen(Formally Pat and Oscar’s) in Buena Park is now gone. there’s a empty lot where O’s used to be. They’re still listed on thier Website but the restaurant is now gone.

Not only has this filthy restaurant closed, but it has been completely destroyed as the photo shows. You know a restaurant is bad when they don’t just go out of business, but they have to actually tear it down and take it to a landfill. Even better news: They’re going to build an Olive Garden here!

Unlimited breadsticks? Yum. I love their breadsticks, but feel like they had more flavor the last time I went. I don’t like it when a restaurant isn’t consistent… makes me doubt the next time I’ll be back. I ordered chicken and bolognese pasta with caesar salad and added half rack of ribs with a small drink for a whopping $ 33! The food came out and we ran out of breadsticks so I asked one of the servers for some more. she replied with an attitude, «We’re running super low on them so you’re going to have to wait like 5 – 10 minutes», and just walked off. Super rude. I’ll take my $ 33 to Chili’s next door and spend it there instead of getting rude service at O’s. The food was good and the ribs got better than before, but they really need to improve their service.

My advice, DON’T EATHERE. We stopped here on the way to Palm Springs for a quick lunch. The cashier gave each of us a breadstick sample — was a nice gesture, but the breadsticks weren’t very good. After looking over the menu for a little while, we placed our orders; The cashier changed my order to a kids meal making it seem like he was doing me a favor, but it actually cost about $ 4 more than the two small sides I ordered, and was the same amount of food. The bowl of Tomato Bisque I got was the only thing that actually tasted decent enough to tolerate, I ate at least half of it and shared it with my sister. Compared to the rest of the food, it was pretty good. The Mac n Cheese was awful… as was the ‘Garlic’ Mashed Potatoes, which tasted very much like potato and nothing else… I hate that yucky potato flavor. My sister said the Mac n Cheese wasn’t good but better than what was served for lunch at her school(I pity the children who are forced to eat that crap). I asked the server if I could exchange the Mac n Cheese for another bowl of soup; they must know the stuff is nasty because she was very quick in her response and happy to do it. However, the Broccoli Cheese soup was just as bad, if not worse than the Mac n Cheese. I don’t know what exactly they use to make the stuff, but their cheese doesn’t taste like cheese… It’s just nasty. Since she had already replaced something once, I didn’t want to ask again to exchange that for another bowl of the Tomato Bisque, so I just sat there still hungry and repulsed by the slop in front of me. The Chicken Pot Pie across the table smelled good, but when I had a bite of it I was disappointed again… at least she was satisfied with it, and ate some of my Mashed Potatoes. The Quarter Roasted Chicken to my left looked good, but I didn’t take my chances on that as I was told it wasn’t very interesting and he didn’t care for the BBQ sauce. The small Pepperoni, Sausage & Bell Pepper Pizza on my right looked a bit doughy/undercooked…I’m not really a pizza fan, I find most of it to be disgusting and am sickened by the smell, but my sister enjoyed it. Overall an unpleasant eating experience that NOBODY should have to suffer through(unless you like fast food style pizza or tomato bisque)

It has been a while since eating at a Pat & Oscars. Not as good as I remember. I remember the bread sticks being better. I would eat here again but if the food quality doesn’t improve I will probably stop going.

I’ve always like Pat & Oscar’s, now O’s American Kitchen. The breadsticks are delicious, Pizza is OK, and the pasta is generally pretty good. Think of it as a less expensive Olive Garden. The cookie ice craeam desert is excellent. It’s pretty easy to find coupons for them, epecially if you have an entertainment book.

I’m going to say, the person that was taking the orders was very helpful. I wasn’t sure what I expected when I walked in the door… but it wasn’t what I got from the website. I expected a full service place… but instead you walk up to a counter, place and order… and get a number and a drink. You sit down and wait for someone to bring you and order and that’s as far as it goes. You get up and get your own napkins, silverware and drinks from stations. There’s no real service… I ordered the Carbonara… it was OK… but not great. Would I go back… no, I don’t think so… at least not alone. And as if I’m out there, I’m working and there’s no one with me… so I guess that means that there’s a high chance I’m not going back. I’m going to guess that this is a pretty new location as I couldn’t find any reviews for this place… but there’s many for other locations.
