I love this place for authentic filipino food. Yeah, it looks a bit run down from the outside and the parking area consists of broken rubble, but I like it. Reminds me of home! Dont let the faded sign fool you though! This place is way better than the popular filipino turo-turo places Ive been to and way better than the established restaurants too! Food always tastes freshly prepared, perfect mix of flavors and completely affordable! Its designed like your typical karenderia eatery. I usually order to go, but even then, their portions are good!

Mediocre food. Lukewarm pancit. Beef adobo was good. Very limited choices for vegetarians. Don’t bother getting garlic fried rice. $ 6 gets you mostly white rice, dried garlic, parsley, a few minuscule pieces of egg. Really? Keep driving

This place is hard to miss. The food tastes like being back home in the Philippines. We ordered catered food from them and they were on time and the prices are reasonable. The restaurant should be a little bit more organized and they should use washable plates and silverwares instead of styrofoam non-biodegradable. The owner was there when we came to visit, him and his staff are very nice! Unmarked parking is available to the side of the building.

Pretty good. I like it. All kinds of different stuff to choose from. Halo halo was good too. I’ll be back to try the different dishes. Thanks

This place is pretty small it the food is so good, it has a selection like Panda Express but Filipino food! And all of it tastes amazing. The halo halo is bomb too! I’m definitely coming back for more even though it’s a little far for me. Super nice people too :)

I don’t even know what I got but it’s delicious! The server also gave me a sample of the steak which she recommended and she was right! It’s the bomb! If your looking for some genuine filipino food. This is the place to go to.

I finally found a place that makes Lumpia just the way my grandmother used to make it. The staff is extremely friendly I will definitely be shopping there from now on.

My go-to for fast Filipino, turo-turo(point-point) food. Been coming to Manila Grille probably since they first opened. Pros — good selection, variety, tasty food! They have about 15 selections or more, including the fried stuff, not including dessert. Cons — food not always hot(unless it just came out, obviously), sometimes just warm. Atmosphere — don’t expect a sitdown, order — taking style, fancy — schmancy diner. Think hole-in-the-wall type and feeling. Service — friendly. There’s one lady in particular who has the nicest smile and demeanor. I read another comment where the«man cashier» is not so friendly. So what?! It’s a point and choose, people. They are not here to sell service, just good food. Don’t take it personally is all I have to say. Tip — there’s a 24 minute parking for 2 parallel parking spots in front. Otherwise, slow down and make the right turn that goes into a dirt parking lot immediately after the location. If in the Knott’s Berry Farm area, go and have a looksy.

Manila Grille — delicious Filipino food, «turo-turo»(point point/cafeteria) style. I’m pretty much a bad Fil-Am who can’t cook Filipino food with the exception of sinigang and beefsteak. When I’m craving the food of my people I turn to Unilocal to help me out and I’m glad I found Manila Grille. Lechon Kawali(Crispy Pork) — it’s super fatty which means there’s so much flavor! I need all-purpose sauce to finish this baby off. Sisig — very citrusy with large bits of jalapenos. I like their batch and we waited a few minutes to get some as they did not have it ready the time we came. It is comparable to SG and it really hits the spot when my sisig cravings increase into sisig craziness(dreams, salivating, you know– normal stuff). For people who’ve never had Filipino food, I want to warn you that it may not«look» as beautiful as other cuisines but it still packs a punch! It’s very similar to other Southeast Asian food, so I tell people to give it a try before they say they don’t like it at all. And yes, I’ve read other reviews that the man behind the cashier is «rude,» but I feel that he just has a RBF. We all know people that are like that and I don’t take that into account in places like these. I don’t think it hurts the business, especially since the other workers are very pleasant.

Best lumpia in town, hands down! I’ve ordered hundreds for parties and have always heard great reviews from my guests(which typically comprise of picky family members). As for myself, they are to die for. The restaurant is located on knott in the city of bp which faces the actual street. So parking can be tricky if youre there for the first time. Its best to park out front if youre planning to be in and out. The actual parking lot located beside the building doesnt have parking lines so you kind of have to use your imagination. The facility is clean but could be cleaner. Tables & chairs are basic. You sort of get this backyard bbq feel with the furniture. Food is delicious. Im addicted to the kare kare… whenever they have it. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5? Ive had several instances where Ive headed there after a long day at work to buy some dinner only to find them closed even though their hours show that they should be open. No note on the door, nothing. Just closed. Sometimes i will find them closed in the middle of the day. One instance, I called ahead to see if they had kare kare and the man confirmed yes. When I showed up, they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about. There was no kare kare but they were looking at eachother suspiciously like they were hiding it or something. Really weird. Otherwise, I enjoy ordering from here. Good food at a good price.

Positive: I gave them two stars because they have good selections of food. Negative: The owners who take your orders don’t seem to be friendly. No greetings at all when you walk in like«Welcome to Manila Grille»,“Hello” or even just«Hi». In addition, they don’t even say«Thank You» you after you pay. They don’t think they’re being observed. Some of the restaurants nowadays have forgotten about«Manners» which is very important when you’re running a business like this and Manila Grille is one of them. Remember that without customers you’re out business.

I love Filipino food so much, I make it a point to try everyone Pinoy joint I pass. When it comes to Manilla Grill, they are tops in the North OC area. All of their food is made fresh daily and their lumpia is to die for. Growing up on Adobo, pancit and rice, I can tell you this place is authentic and don’t forget to order a Halo halo for the road. This place is nothing fancy but who cares… it’s all about the food. Two thumbs up!!!

Worst Filipino restaurant I’ve ever been to. I came here twice and had a horrible experience both times. Food was old on both occasions, it seems as if they were waiting for their food to run out completely so you have no other choice but order that old nasty dried up dish. I ordered Sisig – lots and I mean, A LOT of Onions. I picked the Onions off, ¾ of my plate was Onions. And everything else was pretty much ‘meh’ and it’s cold. Second visit was during the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight – same thing as before, there is no food on the counter. And I stood there for a good 20 mins.(there was some sort of catering or whatever and everyone was running around trying to fill that order; why it wasn’t done ahead of time and ready on set pick up date was beyond me.) only to be told that what they have left for a takeout is what’s left on the counter – very dry Chicken it’s almost brown, some nasty looking ground meat in sauce in a small styrofoam container sitting at the corner of the counter and some vegetables which judging from the look of it, has been there since the restaurant opened. And of course the Sisig which is 75% Onions. And while I wait, I watched the cook scoop all the remaining Onions from the Sisig on the counter, strained it and dumped it on a tray to make it look full – and handed it to the server to be picked up by the poor person who had no idea ½ of their tray is not only Onions but leftover ones. I don’t know how this restaurant managed to stay in business. The way they keep their food(sitting on the counter in room temp., old as the sun etc.) is a violation of health dept. codes. I would fail this store and give it a «C.» Had this place been in a city where there is a lot of competition, say like, Carson, this place would shut down already. I will never come back to this place. The food was meh, service was terrible and the management seem to have blatant disregard to health codes and safety.

I will have to reconsider my go-to choice for Filipino food around the area(cities bordering the northern Orange County lines including Anaheim, Cypress, La Palma and Buena Park — the mecca of Pinoy food in the OC) after a few more recent visits to the Manila Grille. Their sisig is prepared using only pork belly and cooked with green and red bell peppers to give it a real zest. It is the good variety of other tasty dishes, however, that has me coming back to this small, very low-key restaurant time and again to try all the options. Their delicious daily variety includes Afritata with quail eggs, Igado, Sweet and Sour Pork Meatballs and Grilled BBQ Specialities — a varied selection of dishes that are hard to find at other Pinoy restaurants. Popular Grilled Specialities includes Pork BBQ, Chicken BBQ, Grilled Teriyaki and even Korean Short Ribs. Other dishes regularly on the daily menu — already pre-made and served cafeteria style at the counter where you order(ala Panda Express, Chipotle and most catering Filipino restaurants you visit) — include the following: Sinigang na Bangus Fried Tilapia Crispy Smelts Chicken Kaldereta Giniling w. Quail Eggs Dinuguan Sisig Igado Menudo Pork Adobo Bopis Lechon Kawali Longanisa Estofado(spare ribs) Mixed Vegetables in Mushroom Sauce A combo meal, a smaller sized portion of any entrée at the counter and served with rice, starts at $ 4.50. Two item combo meals are $ 6.50. Good Pinoy food and very inexpensive — a great deal! Call ahead to order a whole Daing na Bangus(Milkfish in garlic and vinegar) for $ 9.95 or Crispy Pata(deep fried pig trotter). Catering packages for up to 60 people start at $ 380. Packages for up to 80 people includes lechon and ranges from $ 610 to $ 625. My only real disappointment is that they close at 8 p.m. The dishes always seem to be pre-made no matter what time of the hour you get here. Want a freshly made, piping hot entrée? Order ala carte at least an hour to two hours ahead and double check to see if they plan to prepare the dish you want on that particular day.

Good food and quite cheap I might add. My friend and I go here if we need a quick lunch. I only tried their beef steak and eggplant omelette, which were really good. Beef is so tender and tasty. Price-$ 7.00+ for 2 item Pros: Tasty food Lots of options, variety of food Cheap Friendly staff Cons: Only 1 beef item(need more beef varieties) Place looks a bit rundown

I was early for a 2 pm mtg in Buena Park, and I had not eaten lunch yet. As I drove around, I happened upon Manila Grille. There was a 4 Star rating, so I said I’m down! MG is located on Knott Ave in Buena Park, just south of the 91. MG is a small turo-turo(point point) place where none of the food is labeled. One item combo is $ 4.50 and a two item combo is $ 6.50. I ordered the menudo and pork adobo, and a side of pancit bihon($ 3). The food was OK. Some of the meat in the menudo and adobo hadn’t been trimmed properly, and fat was present. The flavor was OK for food I presumed that hadn’t been sitting out long. The pancit was just OK too. It was edible, but nothing special. The ambiance and service were OK. The place looks like a throwback to the 60’s inside and out. The people were polite, but not overly friendly. MG is a typical if you live in the neighborhood place. There were only Flips present, and most of them looked like locals(especially the Manong — FOB Flip w/his shades on & dingy T-shirt). He was prolly a mailman when he was still working! LOL!!! I would definitely not go out of my way to come here. But if you are in the area and have to get your Flip food fix, you will be OK as long as you come early in the day when the stuff hasn’t been sitting in the warmers.
