Great little liquor store, snack and meal offerings, high end selection of booze, wine, and beer, as well as fancy sodas. Tables to eat in. Refrigerated section with anything you might want cold from wine/​champagne to vodkas to Fireball and Jaeger. Fancy candies. Yum.

I love this place, the sandwiches are great and the owner is nice as heck. Support local business.

Delicious gourmet sandwiches and sides, amazing selection of beverages and snacks, and very sweet people working there. Refreshing to see such a place outside of Austin. Haven’t purchased liquor but they had great local selections.

So friendly and helpful, I’ve tried so many good new products at their suggestion and have always been pleased. Added bonus, some of tastiest healthiest food around…

I wasn’t sure at first about going into a liquor store to check out their deli since I don’t drink & therefore, do not frequent that type of establishment. But, boy, I’m glad I did! Their food is terrific! I had one of the empanadas & it was wonderful! I will definitely be returning soon.

The Italian Engagement soup is some of the best home made soup I’ve ever had. Proof Liquer is a great destination stop in Buda for the Italian Engagement soup any time of the day. The management also pointed me in the right direction for a bottle of red wine with my soup!

Great atmosphere and selection of beers, wines and liquor. I didn’t try the food yet, but it looks great. They had some Public Enemy playing which was a bonus! They had Thirsty Goat which will keep me coming back. I hope this place thrives in their little tucked away spot in west Buda.

I found this place, by chance, tucked quietly in a light commercial complex.
When I first read the name, I thought it was a regular liquor store. Then I saw «Deli» and thought, hmm a liquor store with pre-​made sandwiches maybe? But this didn’t look like any liquor store. I decided I better go look for myself. Boy am I glad I did!
The liquor store is beautiful, and is more like an addition or equal partner, to a full blown, home cooking, full service deli! Everything smelled great and the large wood bar top table with news papers strewn about was calling my name from the moment I walked in.
I looked over the hand written menu on the wall. A small, yet complex menu of original sandwiches, empanadas and soup.
I ordered the Ruben Gonzales and a cup of Chicken Chipotle Chowder. It came with a drink, so I helped myself to The Sure Sugar Soda Co. Ginger ale.
My sandwich was crisp, and delicious. The pastrami was rich and not greasy. The mild sauer kraut was crunchy and the chipotle mayo was light and complimentary. Toasted jalepeno cheese bread and a thin goo of pepper jack brought the magic! Phenomenal!
The steaming hot soup was like nothing Id seen before. A golden chowder with a creamy little dollop of sour cream in the middle. Hearty and lively Mexican flavors of chicken, potatoes and corn mixed together in steamy delight!
I destroyed the entire sandwich and I feel like a nap now. Mmmm

New deli/​liquor store in a part of Buda that looks to be on the verge of a population explosion. My wife really loved their soup & my bistro sandwich hit the spot. They’re a new liquor store so their selection might not be as plentiful as the corporate big dawgs, they offer the necessities to make any house party great. As far as beer goes, they have a small craft selection but again, not the greatest selection I’ve seen. I would love to see this place offer a «make your own 6 pack» like some of the grocery stores/​places in Austin. Proof has potential & if the area grows at the rate it’s looking will do quite well for themselves. I look forward to seeing their progress.

I really like that there is a place where I can get liquor AND a good sandwich! The staff is friendly and helpful. I had an amazing sandwich from the deli — the Athena. That being said, I must be honest about the pricing of the sandwiches. I get the sandwiches are fancy/​gourmet and the quality of ingredients and presentation is quite good. It’s the price that gets me, though… eeks, 7, 8,9 dollars for such a small sandwich.
BUT I won’t let that stop me from being a repeat customer. Maybe give a sandwich discount for every bottle of wine or liquor :)

Stopped in to see what they had. Really good selection of local beers and liquor. That’s always a plus to serve local items. We bought a slice of the goat cheese carrot cake and holy smokes… delish! My only turn off was the loud death metal music that was playing when we were in there. I can’t imagine sitting and eating in there with that playing… just not my type of music. But we got in and out with our items and we will go back. Staff was friendly too and helpful.

Wow! Great food, a fine selection of all the liquor you could want with great specialty items too! Did I mention the great wine and beer selection? A liquor store owned by a foodie! This place is sure to please. Buda is lucky to have Proof in it’s back yard. Check it out!

The boyfriend and I finally got around to visiting Proof for the food this week. We’ve already been back for more! On the first trip, he had the Ham Sammy and I had the Dolly Lama. Both were delicious! I did find myself wishing the Dolly was on flatbread or naan, rather than the 9 grain, but it was still super tasty and filling. Today, we both tried to Smokin Bird, and let me tell you… So good! I shouldn’t have eaten the whole thing (it’s huge!), but I couldn’t help myself. It’s so nice to have such a great option for lunch so close to home! The service is quick and super friendly. We get a few minutes to walk around and absorb their fantastic booze selection (it’s already become our go to stop for beverages of the adult persuasion) while sipping on a Topo Chico, and the food is ready to go before we know it. Plenty of time left to stop in at home and check on the pups before heading back to the office. This will definitely be a regular stop for us!

I found Proof by happy accident. The selections of food and spirits is just right. You have to order the Reuben Gonzales –it’s a Reuben sandwich with a TexMex flair. Delicious. Everyone is so friendly, even the man who prepared my sandwich walked it out of the kitchen and handed it to me.

It is so nice to have a great liquor store in Buda. Not only does Proof have a great selection of beer/​wine/​liquor, the food is absolutely phenomenal. I had the pastrami sandwich and it was AMAZING. This honestly may have been the best sandwich I have had in years.
I believe that friendly service, especially for a local business is extremely important to keep folks coming back… Proof definitely seems to get this. Keep up the great work and I will be back for another great sandwich (and maybe some beer to :))

What can be better than buying your specialty curated booze and food from two awesome women who really care about their customers and their community? Full disclosure: I’ve known the owner for more than 30 years. I don’t even like people and she’s my best friend. That’s how cool she is. Anyway… this place is awesome. Check it out!

I had heard of Proof through the grapevine and stopped in with a friend to experience the deli and peruse the tequila selection. To start, the décor is colorful and welcoming. I’ve shopped in many a dingy liquor store only to be practically ignored by the sales people. The owner was there, Debbie, and she is absolutely delightful and friendly. I found my favorite organic tequila, Dulce Vida, and decided to try their variety of handmade empanadas. Delicious! I will definitely be back to try the Rueben! Was hard to chose as the menu has a healthy selection of great mains and sides. Our experience was terrific and I’m happy Buda has this gem of a eatery and liquor store.
I definitely recommend a visit! We are going back next weekend:)

Fabulous place – great selection of wines and knowledgable and friendly staff. What is even more surprising is the fabulous food – the sandwiches are amazing! My husband and I ate here with our 2 kids, and everyone was happy.

So excited that Proof has finally arrived! What a great addition to Buda. I stopped in to restock my whiskey supply and found a great bottle of Woodford Reserve Double Oak. Then I was taken aback by their fabulous wine selection, with wines from many regions at lots of different price points. I ended up also picking up a great bottle of Argentinian malbec and a bottle of Japanese sparkling sake. Mmm…
And since I wore myself out perusing their inventory of offbeat booze, I needed to replenish with a little lunch. I had the Athenian sandwich and a cup of the Chicken Florentine soup. Both were delicious! They make everything in house with fresh, local ingredients, and you can taste it.
Mark my words, I will be back to try more of their menu and alcohol selection soon!
