Great service and really good wine in the wine bar. Good tour from Kasi, learned lots of new things and enjoyed seeing the grounds.

Our host Ryan did a great job with the tour. I’ve yet to eat at the restaurant, but I’ll make sure to fix that soon.

This place is phenomenal! Such a hidden gift that exudes class & peace. Went on a wine tour for a friends birthday & our tour guide Michael was HILARIOUS& so entertaining. He gave us tons of information & was energetic throughout the whole tour! As for wine, taste the sweet sangria — it’s fabulous. Will definitely be coming back soon!

What a fun place to come for a girl’s day. They have a great cheese board. They have a big wine selection and the people who work there are super nice.

I was so excited to finally bring my mom here! It was raining so we took the opportunity to come to the vineyard. The property is fabulous. We had high expectations based on the reviews online. Just a heads up, the chef is out Monday through Wednesday, so you cannot order food unless you go Thursday — Sunday. Wish we had known this fact. The wines vary from $ 2.50 -$ 4.00 at the tasting. We will be back to try out the wine tour.

They do a fairly decent job here. It’s never a disappointment and they have fun events at times. I can’t say they are spectacular, but they are a good all round wine. If you live near by you should definitely visit them.

My wife and I went at noon on Saturday. We went straight to the wine bar and tasted 6 different wines and ordered the 3 cheese plate. They need to sell the cheeses but we did buy the jelly’s. The wine is very good and the staff was very polite. We will return!

We came in a small group and had a pretty good time. All the staff were very nice and welcoming. We sat in the bar and ordered a few bottles with some Appetizers which we enjoyed. My favorite was the Cabernet Sauvignon. I did not care for the Cabernet Franc. The Charcuterie plate was good, we picked some good cheeses. I really liked the Raspberry Sauce & bought some to take home. We made several purchases in the gift shop including some cute shirts, a Wine Bag and a wine holder that I had been really wanting. Parts of the place have somewhat of a dated feel to me & I think that they should bring a designer in to update the style a bit. I also thought that the pond area could be better maintained. There was a strong odor upon approach that was not appealing. The owners seem very friendly and involved in the operation. This is a fun place to come with a group of friends.

I enjoy the finer things in life like great wine in a beautiful setting. Messina Hoff, without a doubt, is in a beautiful location with gorgeous grounds and a lovely layout. However, if you’re a oenophile, Messina Hoff may probably not be the best place to go, esp if you enjoy excellent wines. Came here to try their flights with some of my girlfriends and had an overall nice experience. It was crowded since it was a Sunday, nevertheless the people were nice and so was the waitstaff. I’ve been here about three times in total but I’ve always appreciated the nature and the vineyard a lot more than the actual wines. The wines are okay as well, but as Messina Hoff is growing in popularity, the hype for their wines is also growing as such. However, the price range for just decent wines is sky high. Overall an okay experience if you’re ever in the BCS area.

Elizabeth was great for our group of 4. Private tour was fun and Elizabeth demonstrated tasting techniques with an expertise beyond her years. The port was surprisingly pleasant for Texas. Make sure to take some pictures at sunset with the grapes!

I went here for Harvest Fest in August of 2015 and had a GREAT time. We had an orientation and they taught us how to cut the vines properly and we went out and picked the grapes just to take them back and stomp them. We had a winery tour and a wine tasting and everyone was incredibly friendly and fun to be around. I would recommend checking it out. As a first timer, the establishment was clean and organized. We wanted to do the wine tasting for a group of 6 but we didn’t have the chance to do the wine tour/tasting. Instead, we went to taste wine at the wine bar since the staff suggested we taste the wine there. The wine flights were decent and reasonably priced. They have two flight options: Flight #1 and Flight #2. Flight #1(3 glasses for 7.50, 6 glasses for $ 15) and Flight #2(3 glasses for $ 12, 6 glasses for $ 24). Flight #1 had a lot more variety of wines and Flight #2 had less variety and offered private selection of wines. I ordered the Flight #2. I had the Private reserve Pinot Noir, Private reserve Tempranillo, and Nimitz Cabernet Sauvignon. I enjoyed the Tempranillo and the Cabernet Sauvignon a lot more than the Pinot Noir. My friends ordered from Flight #1 and the sparkling raspberry wine was really refreshing! The ASF Muscat Canelli was really good and it had a peachy sweetness to it. As for the red, Texas holdem was everyones favorite from Flight #1. As for appetizers, we ordered the Red dragon, Goat cheese, and the Black mountain. The cheese platter came with crackers and meats. Red dragon(4⁄5): This was a buttery cheese made with mustard seeds. The mustard seed gave it a little spice. Goat cheese– I normally do not like goat cheese so I will not rate this cheese. If you like goat cheese, you will enjoy this cheese. Everyone at the table enjoyed this cheese except for me. Black mountain(5⁄5): This was my favorite cheese and I have to say this was the best! This cheese was made with garlic and herbs. It had a creamy but sliceable texture. On our way out, I had to pick up a bottle of the Messina Hof’s Texas Holdem Red wine! This wine impressed me and I regret not buying more. My only complaint about this place would be the staffs that were working the floor at the gift shop. There were 3 staffs working at the gift shop.(2 at the register and 1 helping customers). To me, I felt that the 2 at the register weren’t helpful at ALL. The guy who was helping people around the store was so sweet. I wish I got his name because he was friendly and helpful. Overall, this is a nice winery with potential of being 4-stars and I would recommend others to check this place out!

Wine is decent and experience is okay. Service is mediocre because the staff is mostly college students, unfortunately. I did the«Tour de Wines» punch card which takes a long time and a lot of money invested to receive(50 glasses of wine). When I received my engraved wine glass, the«engraving» was already beginning to rub off the first day I got it. This tells me that it’s not an engraving at all, but some sort of decal. Very poor quality and very disappointing when you had been looking forward to receiving this and put a lot of money into it.

Went here last week and participated in a group wine tasting and tour. Enjoyed the visit and really enjoyed the wonderful Texas wines. Wish the tour explained a little more about the science behind the wine making process, but enjoyed it overall. Wine tasting inside the barrel room was pretty neat. If you’re an Aggie, make sure to visit the tasting room on a Thursday, when the wine is half-price with an Aggie Ring. Also, don’t forget to grab a cup of turtle feed and go feed the little creatures in the pond! :)

We have been here twice now and really enjoyed it. Each time, we have stayed at the B&B on grounds, so had a tour and tasting as part of our stay. The first time, we paid a little extra for the Cellar Tour, It was really informative and educational, and an interesting palate exercise to try the wines right out of the barrels and stainless steel. The second time, we just did the wine tasting. Messina Hof has some of the better Texas grown/made wines I have tasted. I especially enjoy their Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio. Hubby enjoys many of the reds. Interestingly, we enjoy their less expensive Private Reserve series over their much more expensive Paolo series, which is good for our wallets I suppose. The bar next to the tasting room is also nice. Their cheese plate is wonderful and we are almost obsessed with the red dragon cheese(imported from England with mustard seeds in it-so good). The patio is also a nice spot and the turtles come up to get fed some cracker nibbles if you are so inclined. We have never been disappointed here and can easily spend a relaxing afternoon-especially when all we have to do is walk across the lawn to the B&B.

Tourist trap, good wine, subpar food and service for price point. Just take the tour and buy wine. Menu was dated, servers didn’t know what they actually had, had to go write down everything on paper and give it to us since they said there chef is changing the menu… The food was overpriced, lack of flavor, restaurant was empty on a Saturday evening… the view is 5 star, such a shame the food and management is horrible. I’ve been here twice now and both times there have been a complete and lack of management, I gave them the benefit of doubt first time, but after many Unilocal friends urged me to try it again, and it failed again. The dessert was also a joke, the lady literally poured wine over vanilla ice cream and said voila… was disgusting. I do love their wine, which is why I’m giving it 1 star… the good parts are the wine tour, the wine, the view, and the interior. Which could also use a good dusting, no thanks messina hof.
