Awesome little hole-in-the-wall place. Tacos were great and cheap. We were the only white people in there at the time(not being racist haha) so we took that as a good sign that it was a good place and it definitely was.

We’ve been here on several occasions, and have come away happy every time. On our fourth or fifth visit, I was finally able to tear myself away from their Jalisco Burrito(how is that thing so cheap?) and decided on one of the combo plates with cheese enchiladas and a crispy taco. It was great. The enchiladas have a sauce very reminiscent of what you would get at one of the restaurants in the San Antonio market square. We will continue to eat here due to the value and quality.

The food is not that great. After the first visit at the grand opening, I thought I’d give it a second go around. Both visits were about the same. The queso dip is watered-down. The chips are old and hard. The diner had little flavor. Secondly no one speaks or understands English.

Stopped in on a whim since I had a meeting Bryan. There were two other customers in the place at around 6:30PM on a Thursday evening. While I usually have barbacoa for breakfast along with a Big Red, a San Antonio thing I guess, I had the barbacoa plate special. It was very good and not very oily. It had a nice flavour and texture, even if it did not come out of the ground. The plate came with he usual refried beans and rice, a small guacamole and some Pico. For $ 5.99 including ice tea, it was a very good deal, about as good as you can find in some of the taquerías one can find on the south side of San Antonio. The menu looks interesting and very reasonably priced. The waitress was friendly and Telemundo was on the television which led to my type of restaurante de comida mexicana.

A hidden gem. We go here a lot. The prices are great and so is the food. The crunchy tacos are homemade and have a perfect crunchy texture. The atmosphere is not amazing but feels authentic. If you call in a to-go order it is recommended you know some spanish words or better yet have someone who speaks spanish call for you. They seem to be having more customers lately which is great. It’s a small place near the back of a strip center, find it and give them a try!

Stopped by last week because Filipiana Asian Emporium’s food truck wasn’t in operation at the time. Honestly it’s a very standard, average Mexican place. I got the Mini Taquitos(5 corn tacos with onions & cilantro) and it was really really salty. Friend got the caldo de res and it was also quite salty. They didn’t give me a spoon so I tried it through my straw. I’m just resourceful like that. Also they started charging like $ 2.59 or something ridiculous for queso now(it used to be free). Really? It wasn’t even good to begin with, ya’ll. I’d rather go to La Michoacana for tacos. At least over there, you get your food immediately, don’t have to tip, and can pick up some pan dulce. Mmm… pan dulce.

Finally found some good lengua tacos!!! Heard about this place thanks the active Unilocalers in BCS. Thanks! Went it by myself the first time to test it out. Went inside, Mexican ladies working, their kids playing in the front = this place is legit. I ordered one lengua and one avocado taco(about $ 1.50 or something each). They have some booth and table seating and they play Telemundo on the tv. The interior is pretty nice. The menu is pretty extensive: tacos, burritos, gorditas, hamburgers, Mexican plates, enchiladas, fajitas, kids menu, seafood, specialty items, agua fresca, horchata, breakfast items. Everything is pretty good price, I think. You can see the menu and prices from the pics I took, but generally all under $ 9 for plates and under $ 4 for tacos, gorditas. They give you one complimentary order of chips, salsa, and queso. ANDQUESO, whaaaa. The salsa and queso are definitely homemade and the chips come out fresh tasting too. The salsa and queso definitely have their own flavor, which highlights the homestyle cooking of this place. Love it! Tasty stuff and the queso has some spiciness to it. Yum. My tacos were delicious. The avocado taco had fresh, thick slices of avocado and some veggies. The lengua was diced and well-cooked. They also have Valentino salsa too. I ate the tacos with the queso and salsa which helped to enhance the flavors. The tortillas were fresh as well. My first experience made me really like this place. Second time, I came back with the BF. He ordered the special of the day(i.e., platter item for $ 1 – 2 cheaper), chicken fajitas. I ordered the barbacoa gordita. Mm mm, gorditas are delicious! Like arepas but without as much masa. Tasty and the barbacoa was melt-in-your mouth without being overly fatty. I thought it very delicious. Came with some lettuce and tomatoes too. Small for a hungry person, perfect for me. BF’s chicken fajita came with lettuce, tomato, guacamole, Mexican rice, refried beans, and 2 fresh tortillas. BF(he’s Mexican and from Houston) said –2 stars for only coming with 2 tortillas. Indeed, with delicious scratch-made tortillas like that, having at least one more would have been a real deal sealer. I got to taste his fajita chicken. Oddly reminded me of a simple Asian stir fry. Definitely tastes like a homecooked meal, but could probably have used more Mexican seasonings to really bring out the restaurant flair. Overall, decent. We did enjoy our meal and would say it’s not the best but definitely authentic and remniscient of home cooked Mexican food. I will recommend to try this place out and I will say I shall return for my gorditas and to try the tortas and horchata!

This is a great place. Reminds me of my favorite place back home that has since closed. Prices are fair and you get A LOT is food for the price. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the queso. It tasted as if it came from a can. Everything else rated homemade. Breakfast tacos are served all day so I’ll have to go back for some. I’ll definitely go back. I wish them every success but I just hope they don’t get too big too fast.

Their breakfast tacos are inconsistent and overrated. I’ve ordered them about 4 different times and they just keep getting worse. For one, they are small in comparison to others. They are ridiculously salty. One thing i did like was the tortillas. They were fresh and homemade. One day I tried a torta and even though the meat was good, it was super soggy. They put too much crema and they were smaller in comparison to other places like el tio or el vale. I’ve also had their gorditas and they were pretty delicious and authentic. Their aguas frescas are refreshing and tasty Im basically done with their breakfast tacos but I will be back to try other things before I make up my mind about this place.

Overrated in my opinion. The tacos al pastor tasted like they had been sitting in a pot all day. Chips and salsa were good and they gave free queso, but supposedly they charge you for more chips and salsa. Decent for BCS but not amazing like some of these reviews would have you think. Maybe I just got the wrong thing.

I now eat at Jalisco every day. No kidding. Be it a breakfast taco, something for lunch, or dinner Jalisco is my goto for Mexican in Aggieland.(Now all my Unilocal stalkers can find me, yeah!) :) The next time your friends tell you«Hey let’s all go to Fuego!» Be sure to slap them. And then tell them to slap their Mom’s. My two favorites(even though I have loved everything I have ever tried here) are the beef fajita tacos on flour. Succulent, juicy cuts of skirt steak grilled to a perfect caramelization with a hint of smoke; they do come with grilled bell peppers and onions as proper Jalisco style. But some of the time I ask them to leave the veggies off to focus on the meat and I add cheese. What kind of cheese you may ask? Well, they will ask you if you want«White or Yellow». Go for the white, it’s thick shredded Mexican Queso Fresco and since they serve these things HOT, the cheese melts and there you have a Quesadilla taco my friend. Ain’t nuthin’ like it in these parts. Those ROCK!(Use the red sauce not the green on the beef, green goes on chicken). Oh and they will set you back a whopping $ 1.75 each.

I’ll start off simply. If you haven’t eaten here yet, you are missing out on some ridiculously good, ridiculously well-priced stuff. The tacos(both breakfast and otherwise) here are top notch and definitely far better, more authentic, and cost-effective than the tacos at a certain popular late night destination in town. The refried beans are killer, so get some of those too. There is still so much here that I need to try. This will be one of the places I miss most when I move. Go eat here. Now. Seriously.

Pretty good tacos. I’d say about the same level as Fuego. Some menu items are better, some not as good. The food didn’t blow me away, but I happily ate everything I tried. The orchata is good.

While my wife and I loved their dinner selection and everything was very tasty and generous in quantity for price, I have to disagree with others evaluation of their breakfast tacos. Perhaps, given the quality of the non-breakfast choices, I came on bad day — but the 6 different combinations I tried were over-cooked(dried out.) both my wife and I found the eggs a little overdone and the potatoes dry.
Don’t take this as a final evaluation, I will return for another try at breakfast and am actually doing another dinner there tonight.

Stopped by here earlier in the day for an early lunch. I opted for some breakfast tacos, and they did not disappoint. Call me crazy, but I would take these tacos any day over fuego. In addition to the tacos, I also had a side of refried beans. They were perfect, and did not have that fake smoky flavor that is very prevalent in some of the other restaurants around b/cs. I wasn’t a fan of the queso as it was a little too bland for my taste, but it was free, so no complaints on my part. Overall I really enjoyed my meal and experience. I know I will be back again very soon! Also they have Mexican coke(without the HFCS).

I love this place! I’ve only had the jalisco burrito and the tostado and both were great. They start you off with chips, salsa, and queso. It’s family owned and they are really sweet people. Prices are very fair. I could come here every day.

The owners are some of the sweetest people Ive ever met. Food is great. my favorite is the namesake burrito. It stuffs all of the burrito ingredients inside or on top of burrito then smothers it like an enchilada. I will write another review when I manage to order something. For now Im stuck on this one dish. I wish the place was bigger but I figure it will be in due time.

I can’t say anything that nobody else has said, but this place is very good. Quality ingredients and everything tasted great. I had fajita chicken, pastor and picadillo. The flour tortillas were great and the pastor was in a gordita which was also very good. Can’t wait to try their breakfast tacos!

Being from South Texas, this is probably the best tasting Mexican food I have had in a long while! The prices are great and portions are amazing! They have a daily special posted on a little white board(just like back home). Breakfast is served all day! I have to agree with Alex that the location isn’t very noticeable. We probably would have passed it up if we didn’t live so close and happen to notice the Chinese restaurant closed. Nonetheless, its a great little find with amazing food and tortillas! The orchata is great too!
