My bf and I have only been here about 5 times, but the service has been consistently wonderful. The atmosphere is nice and toned down. Very appealing if you like a nice, quiet conversation. Perfect for post dinner on a date night. Wonderful wine and dessert selection. It has become a favorite of mine.

I’m not much of a drinker… But I love the atmosphere at Downtown Uncorked. The people are awesome… give Nixon scraps of the yummies they prepare, they do. Speaking of yummies… that shall be the highlight of this Unilocal review. The yummies are quite yummy indeed… the Italian Nachos are pita chips covered in pesto, Italian cheeses, and peppers… They are yummmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeee! As was the Pesto Pizza with the sooooooprize drizzle of Balsam… Yummy! If you were thinking of grabbing dinner and then heading to Uncorked… just grab dinner at Uncorked. You will be glad you did!

One of the best wine bars I have been to in Bryan. I really enjoy that this place is in Downtown Bryan. Here are the best reasons why I really like it + Great parking spots — I haven’t had too much trouble finding a spot + Large wine selection(and beer too if you don’t like wine) + Amazing desserts + Friendly atmosphere + Cozy setting + ½ Off Wine Bottles on Thursdays + Brought a free dessert truffle for a friend’s birthday + Knowledgeable staff + Great for Girls’ Night + Great Cheese Plate Too

Giving 5 stars for customer service… my sister was having her bday here and I live out of state so I couldn’t be there. I asked them to order a dessert for her w/my cc(slightly unusual request because I didn’t know if they were actually coming to this place and if so, what time) and they were more than accommodating… they were proactively helpful and just awesome human beings! They even went above and beyond and wrote a special note for her from me. Very grateful!

As rabid fan as I am about downtown Brian, it pains me to write anything less than a stellar review for any of the downtown restaurants in fear that it may reduce their ability to survive. That being said I am compelled to at least educate others on our experience at Downtown Uncorked. The selection of wines and beers is good. There is a modest selection of appetizers which are simple but seemed quite nice. The space is nice and on the evening we went the weather was beautiful. The fatal flaw is that they are unable to get food or drink to you. The waitstaff, when accosted, are friendly and appear to be accommodating. However be prepared to be completely ignored. We were there for 2+ hours. The only time we were able to get service for anything is when we came in from the porch, went to the bar and grabbed one of the waitstaff. The establishment is well staffed, I counted five waitstaff and the owner bustling about. They all seemed quite busy but I never really figured out what they were doing. Having been in the restaurant business before I know that a wine bar involves opening drinks and bringing them to the table. This takes a matter of seconds. Five waitstaff for a restaurant of the size should be plenty. Numerous times waitstaff came to the porch to collect glasses but were never interested in taking an order or ask us how we were doing. So please patronize downtown, but if you go to Downtown Uncorked, be prepared to be completely ignored. Go to the bar, do not wait for the waitstaff, place your orders and collect your drinks there. If you assume that those people milling about in black are merely decorative, then you will be able to enjoy the space and libations without the aggravation of assuming that this is going to function like a conventional bar. They ruined my evening this time, and I am likely to return, but with different expectations.

I was FORCED to select a star. Save your time, money and evening! Spend your evening at an establishment that will appreciate your business, provide service and offer two napkins for two customers. The service is unacceptable. We have had to go to the bar twice. One for a second request for Pellegrino, which I had ordered at the bar, and to request more bubbly. The waitstaff walk around looking busy, which is frustrating for a customer wanting service. Skip Uncorked for another place! You will walk away frustrated looking for a relaxing evening!

I love this place! It’s a great place to relax with friends. The inside is nice and cozy. The staff are nice and helpful, and they have a decent selection of wine and beer. I got the cheese plate and it was quite good! I will definitely be coming back here!

I’ve visited Uncorked on around a monthly basis since it opened. The waitstaff here usually appears to be in their early 20s, uninterested, and reluctant. The last time I was there, a young lady insinuated that my table of girlfriends needed help figuring out what we wanted(«do you evennnn know what you like in a wine?»). We may look a decade younger than we are, but I assure you we have all been drinking wine in mass quantities since you were in middle school. In fact, our friendships seem to have lasted because of our mutual appreciation of sipping and occasionally guzzling wine. Please do not attempt to out-wine my wino friends. We got this. Whatever, this is the only wine bar in Bryan. The ambience is great for meeting up with friends, prices and selection are decent, and the snack options are OK(though not much vegetarian options, and the pizzas are frozen/premade — come for the wine, not the food.)

My wife and I just moved to town and we really enjoy this place. Nice and relaxing during the week. Great place to work with the laptop and hopping on the weekend. Beer and wine selection is great.

I love this place! The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the outside seating is absolutely useless during the rare super cold snaps that this area can have or even when it is just on the cool side and windy. I am in love with the cheese plate(which also has fruit on it). It has the best spread for the crackers ever! It doesn’t pair well with any of the white wines I have ever gotten, but it is still wonderful. Just keep some water on hand if you are picky about taste. What most impresses me about this place is that on Thursday night(which is there ½ bottle night), if one of their rotational wines on the half price list is out of stock before the night begins they will replace it with another wine. I found my favorite Riesling because of a replacement! This isn’t the place for filling up on food though if you are looking for dinner. It has a lighter fair of options which will satisfy any munchies you may get while sipping on your wine. Their cheesecake looks fantastic though I have yet to try it. This place is great! I love that I am perfectly comfortable in my t shirt and jeans or in a nice outfit. There seems to be a large variety of people that come. Generally speaking, it is filled with more upperclassmen from Texas A&M University and young professionals from the area. I have seen people there sitting and talking, studying, on dates, etc. Overall it has a great atmosphere. It can get a little loud around 9 o’clock. Every time I have decided to go to Downtown Uncorked I have had the same waiter. He is the best! I have unfortunately never gotten his name, but he is always so nice when we ask wine related questions and never makes us feel like we are lesser because we aren’t educated on wine. He always suggests good wines for whatever my taste buds may be in or if I know the Riesling on the half price list is one that I do not like. Also this place is great about splitting checks funny ways! My group I normally go with have varying tastes. So different people split different bottles. Some eat off the cheese plate and others don’t. I have always appreciated their patience. I’m sad that I have now relocated and will have to find a new wine bar!

I have been here several times, mostly on First Friday, so it has been very crowded. I would like to visit on a less busy night. The wine selection is very good with both local and non local wines. The staff is very knowledgeable about the wines on offer. The petite shiraz I had was very good. Their beer selection is not bad but nowhere near what they have in the variety of wines. Great place to spend an evening with friends. Now if someone would open up a martini bar/cocktail lounge.

Uncorked is fine. I’ve had a few good wines there, a few okay wines, and a few bad wines. All staff I’ve interacted with at Uncorked know very little about the wines they sell. Be prepared to Google the wines that you want to drink because the staff will not be able to describe the wine in any depth. An example from last night: Me: I’d like a glass of dry white wine. What do you have? Waitress: Well, we don’t have a lot of dry white wines by the glass… Me: Which is your driest? Waitress: Hmmm… «X» is a dry rose, but it isn’t dry, just dry for a rose. And Y is under chardonnay, but it isn’t really a chardonnay grape, it’s just… weird. Me: I guess I’ll try«Y.» The wine ended up being good, and my fiancé and I had a nice evening sitting in their comfy chairs and chatting. The menu is limited, and the place is especially busy on First Fridays. Service can be slow, even if it isn’t busy. I’m glad Bryan has a wine bar, but I wish the people who worked at Uncorked knew more about the wine. Perhaps the menu could have a few words describing each wine so that the patrons don’t have to take a shot in the dark each time they want to try a new wine.

Just a note that I am not a snob wine drinker and nor am I a connoisseur. With that being said Downtown Uncorked can be a pretty nice place to relax with friends and enjoy some wines that you like or, if you’re like me, try wines that you’ve never heard of before. I went with a group of friends one evening in the middle of the week. The décor of the place has some nice pieces(antique furniture and trinkets, photos of local sites, and paintings) that adorn the whole place and gave it an overall relaxed vibe. Our waitress was patient with the whole group as we studied our menus as if we knew what we were looking for. Most of us simply order a particular wine by the glass(mostly reds at $ 6 – 7 each) while one ordered a wine flight(a selection of wines in different glasses with a small amount in each glass). I’m not going to comment on the wine other than that I enjoyed it. The wine glasses that they use to serve the wine have an etching which show the proper amount of wine that should be provided with every glass purchased. I’m sorry to say but mine was under both time I ordered. Normally I don’t mind this sort of thing but when you’re paying by the glass it just bugs me. We were having a good time so we ordered the cheese and meat plate. It’s really a great deal for the amount and quality of meats and cheeses that you get. The plate is about $ 7.50 which is steep on an initial glance but when you consider that the price of the cheese by itself would probably be around $ 5 then it’s not so bad. Regardless, it was really tasty and went very well with the wine. TL;DR: Nice atmosphere, wine was good, get the meat and cheese plate, and make note of the wine levels in the glass(there is an etch to show you how much should be there).

I really enjoy the atmosphere of Downtown Uncorked. It’s large with a lot of great seating options and a great vibe. The wine is ok. Not as good as the selection I’m use to else where, but it’s by far the best in the area. They have a lot of good food options and beer(for the non wine drinkers). I have had mixed feelings about the service. Sometimes I feel like they pay a lot of attention to the tables and others, I have been ignored. One time I waited for 30 mins for service and eventually walked out. I recommend them when they aren’t as crowded.

Downtown Uncorked is one of my favorite places to relax. The wine menu is very satisfying and the foods are delcious. I’ve had the cheese plate, the pita chips and hummus, the blueberry cheesecake, and a mini pizza(in different visits!!). They also have Izze sodas which is nice for the non-drinkers. The staff is friendly and the environment is cozy. I recomend whole-heartedly!

Downtown Uncorked has taken a few big steps in a positive direction. I wasn’t much of a fan when it opened. We’d go, sure, usually with groups of people before or after dinner, or on First Friday. But I was never impressed. I am now. What didn’t I like, and what changed? First, the wine list has had a big makeover. It is now less California focused, and, as a friend and fellow Unilocaler Levi J mentioned, the European selections have become more plentiful. Their wines by the glass are also more diverse. In addition, if you’re willing to buy two glasses of wine, they’ll open any bottle on the menu. That’s just excellent, and it broadens the spectrum of what’s drinkable there by a huge margin. Second, they used to have practically nothing to nosh on, to provide ballast, while drinking. They only had some mediocre hummus served with these pita chips that I swear they bought in bulk at Sam’s. and that was it. No longer. Now they have a lot more nibble food, including a very nice olive plate, a cheese plate, and some non-monstrosity(but tasty!) cupcakes that are great for sharing if, like me, you don’t often eat dessert but occasionally want something sweet. In short, DU has stepped up its game in a big way. The prices are really good considering what you’re drinking. I’m really impressed.

I’m a regular here, so I’m probably not the most objective reviewer. However, Melba and Chandler(the owners) go out of their way to listen to what you like and try to accommodate you on future visits. If you’re looking for food, go some place else. The cheese plates are good, but a meal is to be had elsewhere. The wine is the thing. If you’re hesitant about going into a wine bar for fear of being sneered at as someone«unsophisticated» about wines, this is a great place. The staff is knowledgable and will walk you through what you like, don’t like, and what just tastes good to you. They’ll give you a taste of almost anything on the menu. THEN you can order something with a great deal of confidence you’ll like it. They have all sorts of specials(jazz, art, tastings) but I like going there with two or three coworkers for good wine, superior recommendations, and good wine. Heartily recommended.
