My wife and I just had our first baby a few months ago. We knew the importance of breastfeeding and were committed to doing it, but we never expected it to be so challenging. When our son was born, the lactation consultant at the hospital was extremely helpful, so a month later when my wife was having problems breastfeeding, we decided to find a lactation consultant close to us.
La Leche League referred us to Magally Ramos at IFNA, and we’ve seen her about 4 times in the last 6 weeks. She’s been nothing short of awesome. My wife was considering quitting, but Magally really helped make breastfeeding much easier. She showed my wife how to tell the difference between when the baby was actually breastfeeding and when he was just «comfort-​nursing». This cut down a lot of hours (especially at night) of breastfeeding. And Magally helped my wife get the proper breastshields for her breast pump. This really helped make pumping less painful.
