The look & place was nice & inviting. Service needed improvement. And food tasted like it was Costco written all over it! The host & waiters tend to stand by the bar & just over look all the tables. As we eat and waited for our dishes. The waiters tend to just stand there and have conversations about they day I guess. When we waited for water. Drinks. And food which lagged. Don’t get me wrong we kept ourself entertained. I can go on about the food. But won’t, as I think the stars I have could drop more!

The place is so pretty inside. A great place for a romantic dinner or a girls night out if you want to stay in south Brooklyn. It is on the pricey side. The food was okay, the service was good although the waiter was very strange. However I did have a good time and enjoyed the atmosphere so Ill be back to give it another try.

How do I convey the review with the true dissatisfaction I’ve had whilst dining out… Imagine the worst cook you know, their abilities are still 100x better, because in sure there is still a level of care. Xo has sunk to new depths. When your tar-tar is slathered in mayo, that’s a sign of expired ingredients. When one pairs a classic combo of eggplant and tomato with feta, and doesn’t season, or cook(or prepare) the ingredients properly you got a hell of a disappointment. Seriously do not eat here, or in sheepshead bay, travel far and away, at least you’ll get your money’s worth of a meal.

I’ve never seen worse service than here. Nobody offered us a water. My husband was waiting for ice cream for 30 min. I ordered cream brûlée and espresso. They brought me espresso in a minute and desert 15 minutes later. So i’ve got desert with cold coffee. By the end we were kicked out by manager because our order was not so expensive. When I told him that we would probably order more if the service was better he told me that if I don’t like it I shouldn’t be here!!! They have tips included in the check. So even of you hate the service you’ll pay 10% more. Music was good.

AMAZINGLY decorated place that is perfect for any occasion or romantic night out. Came here for a bridal shower last Sunday and this location was perfect. Atmosphere and ambiance were beautiful and trendy, everyone kept commenting on how intimate, trendy, cool vintage and beautiful the venue was. The service was attentive, but strange. not sure if I’m just missing something culturally here. We had a big, beautiful, fondant cake here and when it was brought in the back to be served, the chef took the fondant off because he claimed fondant is no good and full of carcinogens. It’s sugar and frosting! No one else at my table seemed to mind, but I hope he’s aware that people pay BIG money to get fondant put on cakes and had I paid for the cake myself, I wouldn’t have been happy that it was thrown in the trash especially without telling me. A group of waiters just stood in the back by the bar and watched us the entire time, made me uncomfortable. The food was really good and I was very impressed. I ordered a French Onion soup to start which was absolutely perfect and a great sized portion, Considering this is a «creperie», I decided to order a crêpe. I chose the mushroom, chicken, and bacon crêpe and added two dollars extra for cheese. The crêpe was HUGE, I could barely eat half of it because I was so full. It was really outstanding and delicious except that some pieces of the bacon were severely under-cooked. I’m talking… white, raw, bacon. Just picked them out and put them to the side Ugh. The crêpe itself was buttery and delicious, and the rest of the fillings were great and went well together. Cucumber and tomato salad was excellent, champagne was good. Found the food to be overall delicious on the whole and the service to be pretty good. Would definitely come back here.

Bleh. Mediocre service at best. Food is nothing to write home to mama about. Very average place with very average food. Do not come back list.

Decent, very decent for Emmons Ave. My daughter loves their strawberry chocolate crepes. They are located right in front of bay and have a wonderful view. Service could be a bit faster.

I had my sweet sixteen party here and it was one of the greatest nights. The food was absolutely delicious and all the decorations came out to be beautifully coordinated by my mother. I was disappointed that the DJ played random music and didn’t follow my playlist because there was no one in the restaurant besides by family and friends. It is a nice and spacious place great for special occasions and general outings.

Bad experience. Walking on Sheepshead Bay this afternoon(a Sunday) decided to check out this place. We ordered crepes duck confit in mushroom crème, and potato pancakes with salmon, sour cream and caviar. The good: We were sitting on the second floor balcony with a nice view of the bay. The music complemented the atmosphere well, and the volume was just right.(The vendor selling toys on the sidewalk below had his car’s sound system blasting music at high levels, but that’s not XO’s fault). The waiters were around and answered when called. You get two kinds of complimentary fresh bread with herbed butter. The bad: The duck in my crepes clearly was not fresh. I ate some of it and just left the rest on the plate. When the waiter asked me how it was, I said the duck wasn’t fresh but the crepes tasted good. His answer: «Yes, the crepes are made fresh.» So he just ignored what I said about the duck. As for my date’s potato pancakes, they were overdone, almost burnt, and the salmon was way too salty. The final straw: When I drank my glass of water the waiters did not refill my glass for about 15 minutes. Then, a waiter just removed my empty glass from the table… and never brought it back. No refill, no asking if I want another one — nothing. He probably just forgot about it. Also, one of the waiters spilled a plate of food at the table next to us. Kind of funny to read about it in other reviews, and then see it myself. So the whole experience was thoroughly disappointing. We originally wanted to get dessert, but after tasting the dishes described above we decided we’ve had enough. Too bad — the place looked great from the outside.

Some of my friends came to visit from California and requested they be exposed to the night life of Sheepshead Bay/Brighton Beach. I decided to go with this place because it is conveniently located smack in the middle of all of the action on Emmons Avenue and has a really nice outdoor seating area with the direct view of the canal and Marina. We saw the menu and got a little bit trigger happy, the portions are ridiculously HUGE and I suppose our eyes were a lot hungrier then our stomaches… We had the Crispy Duck Salad, the Burrata Salad, Escargot on Puff Pastry, Potato Pancaked with sour Cream lox and red caviar, herring, Fried Potatoes with Sautéed Mushrooms, Lamb Chops in Blackberry reduction sauce, Salmon in Garlic Sauce Crêpe, Duck Crêpe, and Chicken and Mushroom Crêpe… All this goodness was ingested while drinking a passionfruit martini… The prices are a bit high but service is very attentive and on point.

This place is so cute. the most perfect place for any birthday or special occasion. i have come many times for birthday’s and shower’s, and so excited to host my first bridal shower here. It’s a beautiful maria Antoniete feel when you walk in. Pastel pinks and whites are spread through out the large space. They have a cutsie little library room with decorative books from floor to ceiling . A dj spins music on fri and sat. the food is amazing. Duck salad wow! the Steak and chicken, and the chocolate covered crêpe’s. loved it.

Very nice place. Was here with another couple on a friday night… very pleasant ambiance, service is top notch. The prices are not cheap, however you get what you pay for. Food was delicious, fresh and served well. Will definitely come back.

Been here a couple times, most recently tonight. The meal was perfect, I had the filet and my wife had chicken and mushrooms. Steak was perfectly good as was the chicken. Yumm. Can’t wait to go back!

I love this place, so pretty, very clean bathroom, very friendly staff, unless you aren’t Russian good luck with the language barrier the desserts are so good, and the variety of wines and drinks are great, but it can be expensive, the dessert wines are great, or you can get some yummy hot tea, when you sit outside on the balcony you get a very nice view of the boats on the top level, with cozy blankets given to warm you up the food itself is also nice in portions, however it can get expensive, but its worth the price based on the neighborhood which isn’t cheap. I’m usually here more in the summer then winter just to get the balcony seats, but it works out for any event.

The food is great, the views of emmons are awesome but the waiters are a bit unprofessional — I experienced some inappropriate flirting.

I still don’t understand why XO has just 3.5 stars! This is unfuckingbelievable! This restaurant is amazing! Food is amazing! So so delicious! Yes here is expensive but this place worth it! You can seat outside, and it’s cool cause you have beautiful view of Emmons Avenue’s Bay with swans!

Awesome place. Good food, good service and pretty quick… The waiters are sarcastic so some people might misconstrue that for rudeness but you just need to be sarcastic back, it’s the culture of south Brooklyn. Cocktails, not really a fan of they have funky mixes so i usually just stick to wine or a brunch drink, can’t really mess those up. But the food is definitely awesome and I like the décor, it’s on the tacky side but they do tacky tastefully.

Since Sandy there is lack of restaurants in Sh. Bay area– they definitely use this shortage: put more, much more tables. Quality of food is below average, prices are higher than average. They happy to take ab. %20 service for groups, but service is so-so. We had problems with filet, other dishes. Big screen shows children cartoons in the evening ?! General design is not bad, I should say. My advice: think twice. We will not return. Business should strive to survive on repeating customers, not try to take as much as possible from a single visitor– at least in a free capitalism(ideal, which sadly does not exist here for almost a century…)
