Totally hipster Very pricey You can pay an extra $ 3 to pick your coffee bean blindly off a list on the wall and watch it be prepared just for you

If you want decaf you’re gonna have to go elsewhere. They don’t stock it. Looks like a cute place, though.

First time in the city and decided to get a quick lunch. Came here because it’s literally right next to my friend’s place I’m staying in and I liked the name. Breakfast somewhat sold out but I got a «Carter,» a latte, and a water. Total was about $ 19 which surprised me(but that’s probably because I’m not used to NYC prices?). Even though it was expensive(by my tastes) it was GREAT! The food was solid and the staff were really nice and helpful. I liked the small layout as well — seems like a good place to bring a laptop to work.

I love their coffee; even more important I love the people working there. It truly feels local; a feeling that is slowly vanishing with most places in NYC.

An unassuming location and a modern minimalist décor set you up and then some great coffee seals the deal. I had a shakerato, which is espresso and syrup shaken for those of you who are noobs like me. I don’t think they do ‘to go’ which is fine because the vibe of the place is appreciable when you sit down. Good tunes add the cherry on top.

So, I stayed up all of last night(insomnia ftw). Figured what better way to reverse my sleeping schedule than to grab a dose of caffeine, stay up the rest of the day and hit the sack early tonight. Since I just recently moved to the area, and my french press had shattered to pieces a few days before, I just Google’d ‘organic coffee near me’ and this place popped up on Unilocal. It seemed like the reviews were positive, and it was only a 16 minute walk away from me. Plus the name made it sound modern and interesting so I figured I’d check it out. My sister and I ventured to this place and when we got inside, the place was quaint but we weren’t greeted at all and had to say hello first, which to me is poor customer service since it was just the two of us and one other lady in the shop with us, and three employees working. The macchiato I ordered, although very pretty, tasted pretty bad. It was just bitter bordering on sour. My sister ordered a chai latte and scrunched up her face after she took a sip. I asked her how it tasted and she told me to take a sip. I did and her latte didn’t really taste like much of anything, no spices, no sweetness, just sort of like a faint chai milk. I make chai concentrate at home with orange peels, vanilla, peppercorns, black tea and various spices, so I know what chai is supposed to taste like. It was really disappointing, considering I had such high expectations of the place based on the rating and the reviews I had read. Also, I don’t think that the coffee was organic. I didn’t want to ask the guy behind the counter because my sister had asked him a simple question about the foursquare at the register and he was very brief and curt with her. Overall we made the best of it but it was embarrassing for me because I told my sister that the place was a good choice and had awesome reviews but our experience was pretty underwhelming.

An experiment for how much you’ll pay for a cup of coffee. A cold brew will run you close to $ 6. A regular hot black coffee was $ 4.30. It was a good cup though and, hey, it’s not like I wasn’t aware how much it was, so it gets 4 stars nonetheless. Not sure it’s all that different from any other cup of coffee I’ve had though. Brewklyn Grind at 557 Myrtle is a 10 minute walk and has just as good coffee for half the price.

I first came in here over a year ago, got a macchiato, and ended up in nerdy conversation about comics and movies for over an hour with the owner. Upon researching him, I discovered the owner was an actor in Zoolander!(be cool, pretend you don’t know) The espresso is outstanding, the staff is friendly too. Nothing is worse than a standoffish barista, and this place is very welcoming. Whenever I’m in Fort Greene I hunt this place down.

Stumbled onto this place and ordered the Kilenso(Ethiopian) coffee and Carter panini without giving either much thought. Absolutely delicious. The staff is really cool and helpful, and very educated about the different types of coffee brews and blends. It’s a small shop, so it might not be ideal for a big group to sit and gossip(please don’t), but if you want to enjoy some fresh brew at the bar, this is the way to go. Also +1 for the WiFi. No lines, no rude cashiers or baristas, even the customers were really personable. If you love coffee but can’t stand the idea of Starbucks, this is your joint.

The coffee was average… I paid $ 32 for 1lb of beans, and again, they were average. I think wtf is appropriately named and is attempting(probably successfully) to capitalize on the current demand for quality coffee but providing a lesser quality product to people who know no better…

Delicious food and various choices of coffee is all you need in this spot off the beaten path in Fort Greene. I had the breakfast tacos served with scrambled eggs and chorizo– simple and great. My friend had the polenta egg and chorizo bowl– even tastier! We’re coming back to try more menu options like the delectable sammies they offer during lunch. The owner is very friendly, as is the staff working behind the counter.

Checked this place out yesterday by myself and enjoyed it. However, the coffee is good, but nothing special. Didn’t try their cold brew, but like their titration drip method they and other independents are using these days. The chorizo huevos rancheros were hot and tasty served in a bowl over tortilla chips with black beans. Different than I had in the past, but it worked well. I’m in my 40s and though I had been dropped in a TV sitcom centered on modern hipsters. The three nicely dressed, young and friendly gentleman were engaged in conversation about executive golf, investing, apartments, and much more. It is a small place, but unless they were speaking for a TV program, their volume and topics would be better served amongst themselves… imho. They dropped f bombs here and there(as do I… in non-public situations) and I found that a little pretentious to assume a new customer would not be offended by the language. The language calmed when a woman would enter the shop, good job guys. Too many good coffee shops with good coffee and atmosphere to come back here… BUT their food options might lure me back.

Cute little café in the neighborhood. They have great selection of tea and they can make them iced!

Nice little neighborhood coffee shop. I am not a coffee drinker but I did enjoy the iced tea and a delicious Fig Toastie. An easy place to hang out and have a quick bite to eat.

I love this coffee so much. I don’t know if it’s the beans(Coava is the roaster out of Portland– have never seen it anywhere else in New York), or the attention to details, or the fancy devices used to make the coffee, or maybe it’s a combination– but this is the best tasting coffee I’ve had. Strong too. A delicious, fun kick with rich chocolatey, fruity notes. This place has set the bar for great coffee.

I stayed in Brooklyn for a night and was walking to pick up a prescription at Walgreens and needed a coffee fix. WTF looked like the best option, so I gave it a try. I believe I tried an Americano, and it was delicious. Expensive, but all coffee shops are these days. Free wifi worked great at the coffee shop. My only complaint was that the coffee wasn’t as big as I had hoped. Oh well, still delicious.

Hidden in the middle of a quiet stretch of mostly residential Willoughby Street(right near Fort Greene Park), WTF is really easy to miss. I get the feeling that if it was on DeKalb or Myrtle, it would be a lot more crowded. At the same time, I’m glad for this: the space is relatively small, and I’ve never had to wait on line for a cup of coffee. Excessive traffic would overwhelm the laid back charm of the place. Plus, when speaking with the knowledgeable and friendly staff, you never feel rushed, all the better to figure out the best drink to get. I drink almost exclusively cold coffee, and my experience here is limited to just that. And it’s terrific– easily the best coffee in the neighborhood, particularly since I like my flavor and caffeine level strong. The prices are high, but you can’t really begrudge it, given the quality of the coffee, elaborate brewing techniques, and expert staff: you’re getting the quality you’re paying for. So, as a gentleman of modest means, WTF will never be my destination for bleary morning octane, but that kind of makes it kind of special, something I reserve as a rare, memorable, treat.

the coffee is actually very good and has a unique flavor as opposed to those nasty burnt Starbucks that are on every street corner. With that that, it isn’t the cheapest coffee around. I believe all their sizes are 12 oz cups(maybe 16) but they were certainly small. After paying nearly 7 dollars for a tiny cold brew, I don’t think I’ll be back. That said, if I want a jolt of high end coffee that is brewed in a simplistic manner(I guess back to the basics brewing is now considered the new thing and can demand higher prices), then I would certainly give this place a shot and decide for yourself.

This is like a craft coffee bar. Their«Coffee Lab» is exactly what it sounds like; glass beakers and tubes brewing up some delicious coffee creations. I admit, it’s a little pricy for coffee but for what you get, which is perfection, it’s totally worth it. The people working there are pleasant and very knowledgable when it comes to coffee. For a javahead this is a destination to check out. I’m just glad it’s conveniently in my neighborhood.

I came here for an espresso pick me up and got exactly that. The espresso here is strong, really strong. It gave me superhuman strength. I was able to complete every chore i set out to complete that day. But the star of the show was the 2 Chainz panini. Holy shhhh, the ingredients were assembled to create this perfect harmony of flavors ever created in a panini. It’s like Jesus himself came down from the heavens above and blessed my tongue. The espresso cost me $ 3.25 and the panini cost me $ 11.91. Kinda on the high side for coffee and a sandwich. But I guess if you could afford 4k for an apartment in this area, then $ 12 for a sandwich may seem like it ain’t no thang. I would definitely return for their panini. They take plastic too so no worries about carrying cash.

WOW! This coffee will blow your mind; I appreciate how they respect the ingredient so much. They take such care and execute each cup with the utmost precision, and when you take that first sip you immediately realize that it’s so worth it! I wish there was a WTF Coffee Lab on every corner
