Dining at Williamsburg Kitchen was an exquisite experience. I love the décor, the friendly staff and the menu. I went with my boyfriend and two friends. The waitress recommended a delicious malbec wine. The carafe was only $ 20 which about $ 5 a glass per person. We ordered a variety of different appetizers. We were delighted with the food flavor and the food décor. Every plate was a piece of art. We ordered the special Chilean bass fish and it was superb. I will definitely recommend the restaurant to anyone that was to experience a delicious dinner. You will not regret it.

I’m going to keep this review to a bare minimum, because our experience was less than stellar. (1) The service was iffy. The owner was put off by our Groupon. He also argued with the chef repeatedly while we were there. I get it, Groupons can be $hit for repeat business. But if you’re going to be grumpy about it, maybe don’t list your establishment on Groupon in the first place? (2) Brunch menu was your average brunch grub. Pretty affordable, even without the Groupon deal. (3) The dinner menu seemed pretty cool and the owner was also really adamant about the fact that they only use fresh ingredients. I’d love to go back for dinner. (4) The décor was awesome. Ever been to Bushwick Kitchen? This place definitely had the same vibe. Lots of brick + an awesome backyard. Will I be back? Most likely. I’m curious about their dinner menu, but I’ll pass on brunch.

So. This place. I bought the brunch groupon and hung on to it for quite a while. It said you needed to call and make reservation and every time I tried it said the number was unavailable. I really didn’t feel like going and getting turned away so I tucked that little groupon away until it was going to expire. Flash forward to 4 days before expiration date and I chucked fate to the wind and decided we should go sans reservation. When we walked it the place was completely empty except for one gentleman by the kitchen who I assumed worked there, but who proceeded to ignore us. We waited for a few minutes until he finally acknowledged us and sat us down. By the giant window. On a cold ass day. Now that I got all that crap out of the way, I will say that the food mostly made up for it. I had the eggs florentine and hubby had the eggs Benedict. We both had mimosas. They were all really yummy, except I felt that I had a little bit too much sauce on my florentine. the service was fine, the guy who at first ignored us, attended to us just enough to make sure our meal was okay and filled our water glasses. The groupon covered the cost of our food and drinks but I had to pay the tax and tip which came out to $ 11. That was fine with me. Overall the meal was good and I might come back for dinner because the menu looked pretty good. My funky experience when we first walked in made me drop 2 stars off this place so if we go back and the service is better maybe I’ll reconsider.

The Brunch menu seemed more of a Breakfast menu. Lacking items like Steak and Eggs or Chicken and Waffles. I ordered the Eggs Nova which was pretty good, but normally i’d order a side of bacon on the side, but was surprised to find there were no a la cart items on the menu. I’d love to see more items on the brunch menu rather than things I could make on any given morning. The Dinner menu looked pretty good. Mac and Cheese, Chicken stuffed with spinach etc. Lots of good stuff, and it all seemed regular priced so I’m interested in going back. They have Sangria which is my favorite. Although I couldn’t try any at the time because it wasn’t ready, it gives me more reason to check out the restaurant again. The back of the restaurant looked great, so I could imagine this place being the cool spot during the summer. The staff was only 1 server, and 1 cook they didn’t seem to have too much traffic coming in when we visited but I could imagine if they did get a lot of traffic it would probably go very slow with only 2 people working. Check it out

I emailed groupon for a full voucher refund. I warned Groupon, they may want to investigate to avoid furthar confusion for customers. I’m not sure how this place received 3 – 5 stars when you cant get in touch with them. And based on my experience and the previous Unilocalers, they don’t have the ingredients to serve brunch. How is this place making money?

I happened to run into this place by accident one night. The staff was very friendly and nice, but the biggest surprise was when one of the chefs came out of the kitchen, Louis is one of the most popular chefs in the Manhattan European restaurant scene. He goes way back to the days of Le’scale and Lupa restaurants, just to name a few. I’d give this place 10 stars if I could. keep up the good work Louis.

I got a groupon deal here and was very much satisfied. The food was great and I cleaned my plate. My only comment is I wish they would add more to their brunch menu and have a brunch cocktail menu.

what a cute little place! we came on sunday around 1 pm and it was pretty empty so we could sit wherever we wanted. our waiter was so nice and accommodating, though a teeny bit slow. the prices seem reasonable — brunch entrees were all $ 12 and moderately sized(though not huge; you will finish all of your food.) the eggs benedict were great and their potato hash is delicious. we used a groupon and the waiter was very nice about it(no grumpy face or snideness that some restaurants have sometimes). if you use a groupon, you are charged tax and a 20% tip. they are CASHONLY.

Came here for Sunday brunch around 12:30pm. It was a little weird to walk in the restaurant and not see a soul – no diners, waiters, hosts, or anything. We walked through the U-shaped restaurant and found everyone out on the back patio – a handful of happy brunchers and one waiter. We sat right away and quickly realized that the waiter was the only one working. We asked him about the brunch menu and he mentioned that he didn’t ACTUALLY work there, and was just helping out. Okay. He was really nice, though. Since the waiter was the only one working, getting our food took FOREVER. But hey, understandable. It seemed like an odd, one-time situation. I got the french toast and was sadly kind of unimpressed. It was good, but nothing special. My friend’s goat cheese and spinach omelette was very, very savory and delicious though! It left me regretting my french toast decision. The coffee left a lot to be desired, but that’s what I get for ordering a cup of java instead of that delicious sangria. So points off for the french toast, coffee, & lone waiter who didn’t actually work there, but this place has the potential to be great. I loved the atmosphere on the back patio. I’d re-visit and order something else next time.

Made a reservation by phone two weeks prior and when I showed up the restaurant was closed! — not happy I went out of my way. Not sure if its closed permanently? But they don’t have a proper website or menu anyplace which can’t be good for business. I will not be coming back since they did not have the decency to call reservations and let them know they would be closed.

Went here today for a brunch for two with a groupon. Loved the interior of the restaurant and bar, a very vintage yet modern feel. The food was amazing. I has the eggs florentine with a glass of sangria. The eggs were sooo good and the spinach was creamy and flavorful. The sangria was also very tasty. Definitely coming here for another brunch!

The owner is super nice. I had the pan seared sea bass and my boyfriend had the chicken. Both were really good and fresh. I will definitely return to try brunch and dessert since we were way too full to have it tonight. Great new find!

We called before going to this place to ask, specifically, if they were serving duck at lunch. We were told yes, so decided to check it out. Since this place is *no where* near our house, we wanted to make sure before we made a trek out to it. We got there on a Sunday afternoon and got a brunch menu. When we asked if they had a regular menu, we were told they were only serving those 10 or so items. When we told the waiter that we had called and asked for duck, he said it’s not available on the brunch menu. He then went to have a word with the front of the house manager, who told us we couldn’t have it. Front of the house manager lied to us on the phone. We ended up walking out without bite to eat. Doubting highly we would return.

Just had brunch there, a delicious bargain, though no beverage included in the price, the food was superb, prepared fast. Its steps from Grand Ave station on Grand — don’t know why other stations are listed as they are not close or serve trains not serving Grand St.

I noticed that there were two places on Unilocal for Williamsburg kitchen, so I had to type in my review on this one as well. I have to admit that I was completely surprised to see the negative reviews for this place. I do understand that this location just recently opened, the old restaurant that was here before was CATADOR. I have to give credit for the improvements on this location. It’s not cash only, the staff is friendly and very welcoming. The chef, to my knowledge, was at L’artiste in Astoria before. That place was my favorite location in Astoria. Now the Chef is here and I have to say, until you try this place out, the ambiance, the amazing food, the cocktails, definitely make up for the negative reviews previous Unilocalers experienced, and you will agree. I will«copy paste» my previous review from the other Williamsburg kitchen(which is the same place) ad on Unilocal: This is my third time visiting this location, and I must say, I have been completely impressed. In the beginning I remember this location being«cash only» but now they take credit cards, everyone here knows how convenient that is. My favorite dishes have to be the French Toast, Eggs Nova, and Brushetta Sandwich. My girlfriend is a huge« Unilocaler» so when I had shown her the early reviews of this location I had to convince her, now she has me coming here almost every Sunday after church! Her ultimate favorite brunch dish has to be the Brushetta Sandwich. I would recommend this location to anyone who wants their taste buds to enjoy an amazing mouthwatering experience. Summer time is coming and Williamsburg is definitely the location to hang out in, add Williamsburg Kitchen to your list and you won’t regret it. Thank You.

I’m a little surprised this place has gotten mediocre reviews, that was certainly not my experience! Went with my boyfriend for Sunday brunch, staff was warm and friendly! We were brought out a small amuse bouche to whet the appetite, it did not disappoint! The chef even came out to give us his recommendations, ordered the bruschetta and my bf had the eggs nova both were delish! Although I will say the Eggs Nova are my new favorite thing even though I normally hate all things eggy but the smoked salmon is PERFECTION! Dont remember seeing anything about cash only anymore, but we were paying with cash to begin with. Overall an incredible experience! They have a backyard area that they will be opening for the summer cant wait to sip some fresh cocktails out there!

Super friendly staff, complete opposite to what it seems others experienced! We visited during brunch and I wanted to try something of the dinner menu. The chef was more than happy to oblige! Had the short rib lasagna which. Different flavors but enjoyed it immensely! I’d go back!

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in this city was at this restaurant. It was a Friday night. My girlfriend and I were looking for a place to get dinner on Grand St. and came across WK. The interior looked nice and there were other diners inside, so we decided to give it a try. We walk in and there’s no host(ess) so we walk further in and peer around the corner of the oddly-shaped restaurant. The only waitress working see us and sits us to a table. She then provided fair service throughout the night, initially bringing us bread and olives. The olives were OK but the bread was bland and seemed incredibly cheap. We both ordered the duck, which comes in at about $ 22 a plate. When it finally came, it was about 6 – 8 pieces of lukewarm duck breast on a butternut squash purée with brussel sprouts. It tasted OK, but definitely not worth the $ 22 considering the meager size of the entrée and the fact it was barely hot. Upon receiving the bill I give the waitress my card and she tells me it’s cash only, apologizes, and says they will be accepting cards shortly. I was pretty sure there were no signs or anything that said it was cash-only, but whatever. I go outside to the fried chicken place next door and grab cash. The oddest thing happens next. The waitress tells me she can’t give me change. I don’t understand how a cash-only restaurant, or any restaurant really, does not give out change. Pretty unbelievable. I was pretty much forced to give her a tip larger than the one she had deserved. After leaving the place I pretty much felt like I was just robbed. There are much better places in the neighborhood(Santos Anne, for example) that have better food, service, and prices. I definitely won’t be back.
