Leagues better than Gorilla, very nice staff. Less of an in-and-out assembly line than Konditori around the corner, which tends to have two people working the corner, but worth going to on off-hours.

I came across this tiny coffee shop and it’s not as packed as konditori. Quality wise they are similar. Will definitely come again.

Décor is nice. But coffee is ok and customers can’t pour there own milk. Seems like they were running out of budget or trying to cut costs, understandable. As a consumer I won’t be back, hope they improve.

I love this little coffee shop. Unlike some other local coffee shops this place is a little less crowded. Great coffee, lattes, and croissants, friendly staff — I’ve spent many a sunday working on my laptop here and I’ve never been disappointed.

Coffee card in pocket, I’m definitely a fan! I stop by every so often when I am in the mood for a second cup of coffee, but don’t want to make it at home. Today was one of those days. On my way to a soccer game, I also decided try a seed bagel, toasted and with butter, for energy. It was delicious! The space itself is also cute, and the staff always friendly. A great neighborhood spot!

I only went here once as of right now and I was kind of hesitant due to such high prices of park slope. However I really liked this little shop. The décor was pretty cool with some good oil paintings. They dont have so much room but they can seat about 10 – 14 people I believe. But the style of their wood décor with their brick layers is pretty interesting. They have free wifi so that is a plus. The vibe is low key and really serene. Not really that loud at all. The barista that had assisted me was really nice and sweet. I offered her a tip but the card reader she was using she didnt know which way to actually go about doing that so she didn’t take it. She may be a little slow but then again she is running it by herself with no help so that is amazing in her part. But the slowness is also because she takes good amount of time to prepare everything which I think is a good thing. If you want fast coffee just go to DD or Starbucks. Everything looks fresh too so you know it is going to taste great too. I had the caramel macchiato and I loved it. It wasn’t over whelming with caramel flavor and it was not that sweet at all. It felt very great to drink something so light during this cold winter. I definitely give this place a shot.

My favorite café in the neighborhood – and there’s a lot of competition for that title. As for the complaints about the baristas, I’d say some of them can be standoffish at first, but if you become a regular that will change. So all the more reason to keep going there and getting that delicious coffee, and buying those pastries! But please get it to go — I like to work there and don’t want it to become too crowded!

Very cute coffee shop on fifth ave in park slope, brooklyn. serving great counter culture coffee at a decent price, quite place to work or read with free wifi and good ac for the hot summer days. One of my top picks in the area.

I live down the street from this place and I have been going through all the coffee places int he neighborhood. There are so many great ones in Park Slope and I was excited to see that Venticinque served Counter Culture coffee. I went in and ordered a regular black coffee since they serve such good coffee. The place is pretty small and closed in but thats pretty typical. It’s comfy and cute though, nice and clean too. My biggest problem with this place is the service. I know almost all of the coffee joints in Brooklyn have really snotty baristas and it aggravates me so much but this place is probably the worst. The girl behind the counter could not have looked more displeased and annoyed and bored and snotty all at the same time! She hardly said two words to me! No smile, nothing. When I asked her what the time was she mumbled«8 something.» Duh I know its«8 something» but I wanted to know the exact time. I cam back here a second time to give it a chance. It was a different barista but the service was just as bad. People!!! If you are in the service industry, know how to give great service! C’mon this is not rocket science. I’m not surprised this place is empty a lot. No matter how good your product is, if you don’t know how to give great service and connect with your customers, it aint gonna work!

This small coffee shop makes seriously good coffee. There are a few other coffee shops close by(Gorilla and Konditori), and Venticinque easily outshines them. The place deserves 5 stars for their coffee. It is a bit small and the selection of baked goods is limited. Hence, the four stars. BUT, it is the only coffee shop I go to in my area. It makes GREAT coffee — far better than anything else close by

If I lived in this area, this would without a doubt be my go-to coffee shop. They have everything that I look for in a perfect neighborhood café. Great coffee, delicious pastries, cute décor, and an outlet at every table. The only downside is that it’s a bit small so there are only about 4 tables. I don’t know how crowded it can get at night or on the weekends, but it’s definitely a cute café to stop by. They have a great espresso machine and a nice selection of croissants.

I had an appointment in the area, and was feeling kinda peckish and stopped for a bagel. Let me break down this time line. I walk in the door at about 12:05, order my sesame bagel with butter, and the young blonde woman behind the counter just started at me. When she finally snapped back into it, she moved as slow as possible. I wasn’t in a rush, but she had no sense of urgency. Then she wandered away as I was trying to pay, mumbling about the store being cash only. Check the time 12:14, for a toasted bagel? When I first ordered it I need it to stay, by the time it came out I had to leave, so I asked for it to go. Wasting the plate was the last straw for this woman, as she shot me fire eyes from across the counter. Besides the not so friendly customer service, the place is quiet and well lit. A few people were using it as their office. The coffee smelled amazing, and I would love to go back and give this place another try but until then. 2 dull stars.

The barista here(young European female) is rude. Which is really sad, since being a barista isn’t rocket science. One of the few skills required is friendliness, and she lacks that entirely. I’m willing to give people the benefit of the doubt, so when she greeted me with a look of annoyance(«oh God, another customer has walked in») the first time, I was willing to let it slide. But I came back twice after that, and she has the same attitude problem every time. The only saving grace was the croissant I ordered, which was fresh.

Best coffee spot in the neighborhood. Gorilla up the street might be hipper, but if you don’t want incredibly loud music blaring while you’re trying to read, write, or have a conversation, Venticinque is the place.

Good coffee, good prices, meh barista. Worth a try if you like good coffee and it’s close by. It doesn’t stand out from any other café, but they make good coffee, so wjat more do you really need unless you’re trying to set ip shop there?

I want to like this place, because thank god it’s not Gorilla coffee, but it’s ok at best. In the summer they don’t cold brew their iced coffee. And trying to order an 8oz. americano consistently confuses their baristas. It’s a pretty standard drink if you go somewhere like Stumptown, Joe’s, or 9th St Espresso. The point of a small americano, which is usually the same shot of espresso as a large, is to have a higher ratio of espresso to water so you can better taste the espresso. When I asked for an 8oz americano at Venticinque the barista served me a 12oz. I asked again for an 8oz and the barista told me they don’t have cups smaller than 12oz. I grabbed an 8 oz cup from a stack of cups on the counter and asked if I could have an americano in that sized cup. The barista poured out part of the original drink he made and poured it into the smaller cup. This of couse defeats the whole point because the espresso shot has already dissipated through the larger amount of water. Venticinque has pretty good espresso but it’s insane that«may I have an americano in an 8oz cup?» is a challenging request for them.

I had semi-high hopes for this place as it seemed to pop up on my coffee radar quite often. On a coffee crawl today, I stopped in. The espresso I was not wildly impressed with, but the toasted poppy bagel with cream cheese was decent. The space is kinda cool, with a curved sloping counter, and these interesting tables attached to the walls. Fifth avenue never seemed so bustling to me!

I normally stop by here on the weekends when I’m shopping down 5th Ave, always ordering a small coffee with Sugar in the Raw. I’m not a coffee connoisseur, so all I can say is that it’s «pretty good.» Most of the time, the shop is pretty quiet, with soft jazzy background music(think Oscar Peterson/Vince Guaraldi Trio.) I think it’s nice, especially if you just want to day dream in silence or focus on reading material. I’d come back anytime, maybe with a friend next time!

The coffee is good(too much foam for a latte), the service is excellent but they have some problems in other ways. The reason I go to a coffee shop is to have a place to plug my computer in and access the internet. I need a comfortable place to sit for a few hours and space to do some work. In this respect they need some help. There aren’t plugs everywhere and the music is too softly played. Its dead quiet here, you could hear a mouse fart. This makes for a very awkward experience. Also the internet password is over 30 characters long and super complicated. Its not easily inputted. Then when the owner came over to help me, he seemed super annoyed and actually touched my computer without permission. I was not a fan of the«aloof brooklyn male» personality. Probably won’t be coming here again.
