Although the food is great. The service has gotten really worse at this place. The waitress talks rudely in Chinese behind the customers and makes it so obvious that she is talking about the customers. She is only worried about her tip, but the tip will obviously Come in at the end of the service. I felt very disrespected and unwelcome at this restaurant last time I was there because of the service, I won’t say the food is bad but I would not be going to this restaurant again because I do not wish to disrespected again by ignorant waitresses.

The food is amazing, I’ve tried few dishes and all was great however, I think that the delivery guy is shady. Two times in the row he said he had no change. The first time my boyfriend let it slide, today, I wrote in the notes that I had x amount and I will need change and he tried pulling the shit again. He gave me $ 11 with change instead of the $ 13 I asked for. BS! It really makes me not want to order from them even though I live very close by.

This place has a great lunch deal and the food is delish! There are a lot of lunch combos to choose from and it’s a decent amount of food. Being vegetarian, it usually means I only have a couple of options at any given restaurant. I have so many options here because everything is vegan! It’s wonderfully overwhelming! I love the Orange Seitan. The sauce is soooo good. My only complaint is that the Miso soup is just okay. But really, that’s not a huge deal because everything else is awesome. The service is super fast. I left my job across the street at my 30 min lunch break, walked over, ordered, and got my food in time to have 20 min left to eat!

Vegetarian Ginger is so amazing! This is the best vegan Chinese food I have ever had. The service is pretty good the staff is friendly and helpful. They have a huge menu and everything sounds so good! The prices are very fare and totally affordable. Pretty much general restaurant prices. I had the General Tsos soy protein on a bed of broccoli with brown rice and wonton soup. The waitress informed It’s the only place you can get vegan wonton soup in all of New York made right there in house! And my boyfriend ordered the smoked teriyaki seitan on a bed of kale w/the same rice and soup and it blew my MIND! The taste and Texture was SO on point it was unbelievable. They were both equally amazing. The ambiance of the restaurant was pretty chill, nothing special super special but it was nice and we highly recommend Vegetarian Ginger and would definitely go there again.

I’ve heard good things about this place and many of them are true. The one pro about this restaurant is the location. It is challenging to find vegan food at night in Brooklyn Heights. This is your standard Asian inspired vegan restaurant down to the orange slices at the end of the meal. There is plenty of seating that can be arranged for larger groups. The service was good. I had the curry which came in a simmer hot pot.

I couldn’t decide whether to give two or three stars. I love the fact that the entire menu is vegan, but after getting gluten poisoning and spending the next several hours in severe abdominal pain(and this after our server told me that the dish I ordered WAS apparently gluten-free … but apparently not), I’m not so keen on giving the three stars. I don’t know if our server was just wrong about the Malaysian Curry dish being gluten-free, or if she doesn’t actually understand what gluten is. Either way, my reaction was much more severe than it normally would be for cross-contamination, so there must have been a significant amount of gluten in the dish … my guess is the soy protein fake meat was battered and then fried or something like that, because that’s how the texture seemed to me. The menu is also impossible for someone with gluten intolerance to navigate, as the descriptions of the dishes aren’t even detailed enough to know if there are any gluten-containing ingredients, so you would have to rely on the wait staff to tell you whether a dish contains gluten or not. I’m sure there are some dishes that are naturally gluten-free. I just happened to choose one that was not and was told that it was. The curry DID taste good, though, so I will give them that. My friend also enjoyed her mixed veggie dish as well(and she is neither vegan nor gluten-free). The décor is simple and unassuming, pretty much like a typical Chinese restaurant that I’m used to seeing. There were Christmas tinsel and Christmas lights up, as well as pink Valentine’s stickers on the window that read«Be mine» and thing like that, which leads me to believe that these decorations are left up all year round. So bottom line: if you’re vegan(or even if you’re not!) but have no problems eating gluten, this place would be highly recommended. If you need to avoid gluten, I don’t suggest coming here.

Rather unassuming place, it’s cute, like a café, but I wouldn’t say it’s fine-dining(not that they are calling it that). Prompt courteous service, and they have a stellar lunch specials menu(and as a vegetarian with few options, it’s awesome to score a lunch special too!). Food was really good, I had the seitan w/broccoli lunch special with the wonton soup, and it was plenty of food for $ 6.99. Makes me wish I lived in Brooklyn, but I have jury duty there tomorrow, so I guess I know where I’m going for lunch!

How. Did. I. Not. Know. About. This. Place? Sometimes the best meals are the ones that are spontaneous! Well yes I admit that I found you on Unilocal, but I was surprised that none of my vegan friends knew about this place. The décor may not be very appealing but don’t let that detract you from the goal, which is food! And it is all types of glorious! I had the orange seitan with broccoli, and my bf had the sweet & sour soy chickn. From the thick, sweet and savory sauce, to the crispy texture of the soy meat, your left asking for more. The only problem is finding space for more eats. I’ll be back with a vengeance, and this time I’ll be prepared wearing my big girl sweat pants.

Excellent vegetarian option. All your favorite Asian delicacies made Vegan. I docked a star because I felt the curry puffs & spinach dumplings kinda lacked flavor, leaving me underwhelmed, but that issue came to an immediate halt once we tried the spring rolls and once again when our ENTREES hit the table. I hate to beat a dead Vorse(Vegan horse), but the General Tso’s was absolutely outstanding! First timers need to definitely check it out! After my group stuffed face and couldn’t fathom dessert, we saw a couple next to us get Fried Ice Cream. It looked PHENOMENAL and we will definitely be making a trek back for another(albeit lighter) meal and the F.I.C. Can’t wait.

Great restaurant nestled away in a cute neighborhood not too far from the Brooklyn Bridge. Sampled their curry samosas, steamed spinach dumplings and spring rolls. Everything was great. The spring rolls come as 2 but so worth it. They were only $ 3 so we doubled the order. The crispiness and flakiness of the roll was phenomenal and the inside was very flavorful too. I ordered the sweet and and sour chicken which is pictured. The texture of the protein was wonderful. The chicken was lightly beaded and the inside was delectable. My boyfriend had the General TSO chicken, which I did prefer over my plate. This is probably be the next dish I order. The meat medallions were a great size, flavoredjust right and veggies were fresh. We ate like kings and the value we received was tremendous. 5 stars.

I really like that this place is all vegetarian. My sister and I came here for a quick lunch and I will say that there are plenty of options for you to choose from. I ended up with the basil soy which was delicious. I tried their spring rolls, however I did not like them. The staff was friendly and their bathroom was clean. It’s in a nice location too. I would definitely go back.

I ordered and loved the scallion pancakes, steamed spinach dumplings and the steamed pumpkin. Yes, these are all listed as appetizers but it was enough to leave me full to the brim(that was without eating the pumpkin — I was too full). My entire meal cost $ 15 and although we had to wait a while for our food to come out and our orders did not arrive at the same time, I still thoroughly enjoyed this place. Don’t be fooled if it’s empty when you’re passing — the food(well, the food I got) is good! I can’t say I was interested in any of the main entrees since I am trying to stay away from soy /fake meats and the like but they have healthy choices — and that is hard to find!

*****Message for the restaurant: Please clean up Christmas and Valentine’s Day decoration immediately! My Taiwanese friend thinks you have a potential. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — – This was one of the worst Chinese food I ate. I feel like I was deceived by good rating. After I ate here, I started to doubt that these who wrote good reviews about this restaurants might like this restaurant not because their food is good, but because they can eat a lot with less money. I took visitor from abroad to Brooklyn Promenade and looked restaurants near there. The visitor was vegetarian, so I searched for vegetarian restaurant. From outside, I saw only two customers eating and the red lighting was depressing. However, I told my visitor that the rating this restaurant is good, so their food should be good. When we got seated, I noticed that they still have Christmas decoration on the window. Moreover, I found Valentines Day decoration was still there, too. However, I thought if the food is good, I don’t mind. We ordered Wanton soup, Fried Tofu, Sauteed Spinach, Fried Soy Protein with Asparagus and Zucchini. Wanton Soup was complimentary. That was nice. The soup had nap cabbage and hint of ginger flavor. I often have ginger, so I know how ginger taste like, but I felt this ginger flavor in soup was artificial. Fried Tofu was crispy, but the sauce came with tofu was too sweet. We asked to bring soy sauce instead. Sauteed Spinach was okay. Fried Soy Protein with Asparagus and Zucchini was so-so. I liked the texture of Soy Protein. For two people, we ordered too much food, and we only ate half of them. So if you want to fill your stomach cheaply, and pick the menu carefully, maybe this place is okay, but I don’t recommend this place for foodie. My friend analyzed this place has a potential. Actually, their service was good. The location is Brooklyn Heights and people don’t mind pay more. Anyway, they need to remove Christmas and Valentine’s Day decoration first. As a customer, I didn’t feel passion from them.

I loved it here! I had the curry soy protein with broccoli, carrots, and potatoes! It.Was.Amazing! The atmosphere was pretty great. Very spacious, clean, and what I loved most was serene. There wasn’t anyone I had to talk over. There wasn’t any straining to hear my friend speak. The service was great and the wait wasn’t long. I will definitely recommend and return! I tried the recommended miso soup and I wasn’t that impressed. I will definitely recommend the spring roll. It is a must have! I also tried soy ice cream for the first time and it was pleasant. I had the peanut butter one. I do prefer my peanut butter to have a stickier feel but I would order it again. The bathroom was very tidy. Super plus plus for me!

Staff was friendly and very attentive. The décor is older and needs updating. My Pad Thai had a funny odor and tasted like ass. Got another dish that was a bit better, but I won’t return.

I used to order from here regularly. Until today. My girlfriend and I ordered what we usually do. It came, we put the food onto plates she took one bite and realized they had given her a different sauce than we had ordered(it didn’t have the usual mixed vegetables either, but we thought we’d let that slide). We called the restaurant and they said they’d send the correct dish. Great! We grabbed a couple bucks as a tip for the guy having to come back again. Then the delivery man actually arrived… He insisted we give him the other opened and tasted order BACK! I said«well we opened it and tasted it before realizing it was wrong, so it can’t be served to someone else…». He walked into my apartment which I had not invited him to do and started arguing with me insisting he needed it. He called the restaurant I talked to them and explained that they can take the food if they want but they can’t serve it to anyone. The man on the phone said«ok hand me back to the delivery man» I did and the man took the food and left. I find it completely outrageous that their delivery man walked into my apartment with no regard for the fact that I did not say that was ok. Even more so the fact that I know that the only reason that they would be so insistent on taking that food back is because they are going to give food that had been opened and partially eaten to some other customer. That is illegal and absolutely disgusting. I will never order from them again. If you eat here, be aware that someone may have been eating your dish before you received it.

If you’ve ever toyed with the idea of becoming vegan, then this spot is definitely for you! You really can’t beat their lunch special and overall selection. Chinese food lovers rejoice! Never will you find a General Tso’s Chicken as good, if not better than an actual meat variety than here! I like the fact that just because they’re near borough hall you’d think their lunch specials would only be for weekdays like most establishments, but they actually offer them on weekends too! You just lost your excuse on being vegan too hard to find good food, because you have no more reason to look any further! Service is pretty good here as well. Ordered and literally got my food 10 minutes later!

Solid option for vegetarian Asian fare, but service can be slow. I really like the big windows in front that overlook the intersection – they make great use of the second floor location. There were maybe two or three other parties in the restaurant, but it took about five to ten minutes for our server to come greet us and take our orders. We felt awkward because she was attending to the other guests during this time. Once she did come to our table, however, she was pretty attentive throughout our dinner. We ordered spring rolls, miso soup and our entrees, which were all pretty standard fare. They had Asian beers, so we enjoyed some Tsing Tao and Sapporo as well. The portions were very large, but we were hungry after walking over the Brooklyn Bridge and managed to cram it all in. Overall, it was great having the opportunity to get a wide range of vegetarian Asian fare, but the food and experience were pretty average.

I was in the neighborhood and was looking for a quick bite to eat. I saw a vegan restaurant and the healthier side of me said«Go inside and give it a try». So i listened lol. I had the General Tso’s Soy Protein with brown rice and a garden salad. The Dressing was a carrot ginger dressing. It was very very light. I almost felt like I couldn’t taste the flavor. I feel like the dressing was made by just blending carrots and ginger(very little ginger so don’t worry, you don’t get a kick). I usually like ginger dressings from Thai restaurants so I gave this one a try. It was okay… The Meal I did enjoy the food I had but it was just okay. Im not a vegan so I guess my palette isn’t accustomed to the flavor or «lack thereof» lol. Would I eat here again? Yes I would. Am I in a rush to come back? No Im not. Oh.But wait… there is more! The lunch special prices are amazing. My meal was less than 6 dollars and with the salad and a spring roll with tax my meal was under 10 dollars. So if you are looking for an affordable and quick vegetarian«chinese food» alternative… bon appetite :)

Wow! I never want to eat normal chinese food again. This place blew me away and I’m forever hooked! Thought it would be cool to order vegetarian chinese food for lunch one day. Got the $ 5.97 lunch special of sweet and sour soy protein. It came with brown rice and I paid an extra dollar for a spring roll. The entire dish was amazing and a huge portion. The flavor just blew me away I also tried the sesame soy protein with rice and wonton soup. Just as good as my first visit. This is forever my new go to lunch spot!
