The intimate space is great when live music plays in the evening. Came on a Friday night and ended up listening to great music. It’s definitely a place my friend and I will go back to. Bartenders are great and during the day the place is quiet with people doing their work. The yard has a good amount of seating as well in such a small spot.

why am i being charged times square pricing in williamsburg. well duh, but still. $ 6 for a dollar-sized breakfast burrito? c’mon. Just cause they keep it stashed away and don’t show the size to you until you’re about to swipe. $ 3.50 for my coffee(it’s a bit watery) is not on the cheap end either. $ 5 for a «medium» aka small mocha. If I wasn’t here for a meeting, I wouldn’t be here.

To charge $ 5 for an iced coffee not too much ice I find RIDICULOUS. the décor is chill. Burrito was tasty. Would have rather give 3.5 stars

How cute! I loved coming here, with my computer, getting some work done, and enjoying my coffee and snack while at it. I love the homey feeling of this place, and will definitely be coming back in the future!

So many reasons why I love the West. The people there are amazing and friendly. The space is so good and calming to chill out and/or work out of — and… they accept CUPS app. How brilliant are you, The West! The other day I just took a punch out loyalty card too… looking forward for more times at this place with tasty coffee and treats! When I am working out of my laptop here, I don’t have to put on earbuds because the playlist is on point to my favor!!! One of my new favorite places!

A coffee shop that serves alcohol too, and food. Reminded me of a genuine French café, without the French people or food. I spent several hours here on a rainy day. I had no alcohol, a few cups of coffee and did some work. It was comfortable and friendly. I’m a person who doesn’t like to work in public places — can’t sit in a Starbucks for more than ten minutes without wanting to leave. So the fact that I felt comfortable here — bonus. Not the best coffee but decent and prices were on par.

Williamsburg décor, as expected. Great coffee, as expected. Eclectic playlist, as expected. If you come to Williamsburg, you know what you’re getting, and here you have it. No let down, nothing extra. Extra: there are cocktails!

I’m not in williamsburg that often, but I was invited to a webseries screening in this café. They had an interesting lineup of cocktails on the menu, but I had already pregamed at another bar before I arrived. I opted for a chai latte and was pleasantly surprised to see that they will booze your coffee. I told the bartender I wanted my latte to be creamy and a little sweet, so he added some whisky and baileys. Best decision eve, it was amazing. Kudos to the bartender, I will be back!

I’ll make this quick, and summarize. Let me start off by saying that I have absolutely no sense of humor, nor do I like being around people drinking alcohol. That’s why I only go to bars when I want to work on my laptop in peace. Also I hate writing bad reviews of places I live near and frequent. Which is why I’ve only written 49 one-star reviews this year. With that said, I’ve been a regular here for a loooong time. The old staff was great. They never had a good time and viewed it as work. This is, after all, a job for them. And as a patron, I appreciated being treated as such. That why I cannot believe the way I was treated by the newer, awesome bartenders with the bleached hair, and the really sweet girl(going forward, she’ll be referred to as «The Girl») behind the bar. They were laughing and smiling the entire time! At one point, one of them was dancing to the upbeat music that everyone but me seemed to be enjoying. The other guy seemed to even join in at one point. It was if they thought I was here to have fun! I was horrified. STRIKEONE! Bear with me, it gets worse. I figured, since I’m such a picky eater and have never been satisfied in any food establishment, I’ll get something to eat while I’m here. Well, to further resonate the previous review of «Born Unilocaler» Pamela B., these guys don’t know anything about the food they’re serving! I asked a simple question. Did they know if the steak they served in the steak sandwich was from a cow raised in a Republican or Democratic state? And what was it’s name? All I got in return was a harmless, joking response, at my expense. «We don’t have a steak sandwich.», she has the audacity to say to me. I don’t know, lots of places have off the menu items. Was it so unheard of for me to presume they just carried everything I’m in the mood for, all the time? «The girl’s» response was completely uncalled for. STRIKETWO! Since I was now stuck eating some of the«On the menu» fare, I decided to use my laptop to see if any of my Unilocal!friends had written any new scathing, angry reviews of hard working business’. None of them had yet, so I started this one. I wasn’t even two strikes in, when BAM!, the free Wifi goes crashing down. And not just for the usual 15 – 20 seconds that happens to almost all routers. We’re talking 1−2min. The old staff would always let me go into the boss’s office and reconfigure the network, even though it contains all the cash and personal business records scattered around, and despite the fact that I don’t know $h!t about computers. But NOOOOOOOOO… Not«The Girl». Sweet as she was, her reaction told the tale. «You crazy!?! You want me to let a complete stranger into the employees only office?». OFCOURSE I DO! I’VEBEEN A REGULARATTHISESTABLISHMENTFOR4MONTHS! PROBABLYBEFOREYOUWEREOLDENOUGHTOBEBUSTINGYOUR @$S AT A BARFORUNREASONABLYLITTLEAPPRECIATION!!! Also, I don’t speak jive, sweetheart. STRIKETHREE! I wanted to take a picture of my sandwich next to a quarter, so I can show everybody that I’m familiar with measurements and relativity, but I broke my camera when I smashed my phone on the street during a temper tantrum I had outside a sushi place(See my review of Benihana). But you can imagine what I’m talking about as far as the size of their quarters is concerned. Needless to say, I don’t recommend getting any change here. Go to J@ckb@r for that. I’ll definitely come back. Mostly because I’m 86’d from most other places in the neighborhood for«going public» with my opinions on a website that millions of people rely on for accurate reviews of small businesses. That’s another one I’ll never fully understand.

Great coffee here! Including nitro cold brew! I appreciate that they have a short, but thoughtful breakfast menu that includes more than just pastries in a case.

This bar gave us one of our favourite nights on a recent trip to Brooklyn. After going to the Then She Fell immersive theatre production around the corner(must see: so good) we settled here for a debrief which ended up being hours of drinking, good-times and music. Bar staff were super-cool and friendly(not standoffish hipsters like some Brooklyn bars) and they had a very decent range of beers available. Highlight though was a bunch of musicians rolling in from an open-mic night nearby who proceeded to have some awesome impromptu loose-bluesy-jams into the wee hours. They were seriously good, and having the whole bar partaking in a few sing-a-longs was a seriously good time.

Is it a bar? Is it a café? Who cares??? What a great little bar/café to hang out in with friends! A very friendly laidback, but definitely a hipster/trendy, vibe is going on. Good happy hour deals. Lots of places to sit. Many people drinking and working away on their laptops(data analysis + drinking = good). My kind of place. We wish we had this in our neck of the woods.

Awesome happy hour, good price point, lots of room, bar space and tables. We stopped by here after a game at Escape The Room which this bar has a drink discount deal with(bonus!!) Bartenders also let me try a sip before ordering a full glass of their house wine, which i really appreciated. I’d come back if i am ever in the area again and would try something from their menu too.

Shockingly priced yet amazing coffee. I have been here a few times and come for the nitro cold press on tap which is the best iced coffee I have ever had. It is also like $ 7 for a large iced coffee which is a little past expensive and into the ‘what the fuck Williamsburg’ levels of pricing. But seriously, the iced coffee is amazing. The people that work there are nice and the space is a cool wooden coffee shop/bar hybrid.

My friend and I have been wanting to try nitro cold brew coffee ever since we heard about it earlier this summer, thus we were excited when we saw it on the menu. What is nitro cold brew coffee? It is literally nitrogen-infused coffee. This creates a smooth drink with lower acidity than traditional coffee. The nitrogen also gives it an effervescent quality, which may sound unappealing but is quite nice. I would liken nitro cold brew coffee to stout beer. Further adding to the stout beer similarity is the fact it is served on tap. It is rather pricey $ 4.50 for a small and $ 6 for a large, but it is not outrageous compared to the price of most things in the area. Anyway, we were only in the area for two days but we made sure to stop by The West each morning. The place has a very laid back/casual/hipster feel and the people who work there were all very friendly and quick. What more could you ask for early in the morning? The place also offered several breakfast sandwiches, desserts, bagels, and several hard ciders and beers, however, we never got a chance to try them, so I can’t attest to their tastiness. Bottomline: The nitro cold brew coffee is absolutely amazing, so give it a go!

This is one of my favorite gems. Great atmosphere, bartenders are always super friendly, and the music is never not on-point. Pro tip: It’s the perfect place for freelancers/late-night workers who want to get away from their own couch. Great wifi and they’ll let you stay as long as you like(open till 2am!). Come Monday-Wednesday and don’t be surprised if you see more people with a laptop than a beer(both if you’re doing it right).

The West follows what appears to be a well-worn formula for serious cafes in NYC: a clientele consisting of Macbook-toting 20 to 30somethings; young staff; a hip-hop soundtrack(not an essential, but surprisingly common). The interior is the variable factor: in nearby Blue Bottle for instance, it’s modern hues of wood and white walls. Here it’s ye olde with touches of hipster: dark wooden bar and tables with a carefully faded mirror lining the wall facing the bar. I had a flat white and my girlfriend a latte. Both decent. Alas we didn’t have time to try their draft beers, but I would have loved to as I didn’t recognise any of the several breweries they had on offer.
