Big Doctor Who fan so was excited to check this place out. The doctor who themed drinks are pretty much the same drink with different colored grenadine added unfortunately. The place is nice overall but some of the frequent patrons are a bit strange. Overall a good bar to visit if you’re in the area but not to make a trek for.

This place may not be for everyone, that’s the first thing I’ll admit. But it has carved out a good piece of the Doctor who niche pie and it is what it is. A quirky and cool place to hang out, listen to great music and geek out a bit at the steam punk, Doctor who atmosphere. I’ve only been once but if I lived in the area I know it would be a regular haunt.

Solid bar. Love the $ 5 combination(shot of whiskey and a can of Narragansett). The bartenders were also very courteous and allowed my companion and I to drink out of our own shot glasses. The live music was also great.

When my girlfriend and I discovered that there was a Doctor Who themed bar in Brooklyn, we immediately decided that we had to see it for ourselves! Cozy little spot with a life-sized tardis restroom and steampunk-inspired décor. Solid craft beer selection and cocktail names that reference the series — particularly their«sonic screwdrivers» named after each of the newest doctors. The Way Station is more than just a novelty bar for fans of the show, be sure to look at the calendar on their website as they frequently host live music events!

This place is amazing! If you are a fan of the show or if you just love creative and delicious cocktails served alongside delicious craft beers, this is the place to be. The trip from Manhattan was easy and the bar is a short walk from the number 2 train. The owner is equally great. He cares about this establishment and does whatever he can to make your experience great. The tardis is super neat and comes complete with some pretty stellar autographs inside. Definitely check this place out!

Come for the steampunk and Whovian décor, stay for the friendly service and awesome cocktails. Came here after seeing Richard II, around 1am on Wednesday. Bar wasn’t too crowded, which was nice. The music was a bit loud, but awesome-they played the Smiths and the Cure for almost the whole hour we were sitting there. I ordered a Stormageddon and was not disappointed – it was strong, but not overly so, the ginger beer and lime with the Kraken rum was perfect. Both the bartender and patrons were friendly and helpful. Will definitely make a point of coming back here the next time I’m in Brooklyn.

I’ll be honest with you: I don’t care about Doctor Who. (Maybe I would if I’d ever actually seen an episode, but I’m already pretty backed up in terms of TV I «should» be watching. And I’m a busy man.*) Luckily, The Way Station has a number of things I do care about: Hospitable service. Excellent entertainment(awesome live music, stellar burlesque, etc.). Solid cocktails and a good selection of beer. Interesting décor. A TARDIS.** You know, the things you want in bars. Basically, the Way Station has been around for five years(congrats Andy!), and here’s hoping they are around for at least five more. _____________ *Later today I’m going to have to figure out what to have for lunch, among other things. **It’s cool. I don’t think it’s quite as cool as my international friends, who really, REALLY care about Doctor Who, but it’s still cool.

We had a blast at The Way Station on Saturday night. Over the course of the evening, we had the chance to chat with the manager, bartenders, sound guys, band members, and by the end of the night, we felt like regulars. The staff at The Way Station have a very relaxed, yet professional approach to customer service. They really make everyone feel like part of the family, and they pride themselves in fast and friendly service. We also loved all of the bands that performed, who also hung out to support and party with each other after their sets. Thanks for an amazing evening — I will definitely be back!

My favorite bar hands down. Is it because it’s got a T.A.R.D.I.S. bathroom? Well, duh! Is it because they have awesome bartenders and a lively schedules? Uh duh. In my opinion, the best day to go is Sundays. They play a flick(I think they do on Mondays now as well), but its laid back and everyone is pretty chill. They don’t serve food there, but you can have something delivered or you can bring in.

Adding a star for great customer service. The owner responded and inquired about our issues. Gotta love great customer service. Will definitely be giving this place another shot :)

Such a great bar, not sure how it could get under 5 stars. Always good FREE live music, great vibe, good people, good beer and drink selection — love it.

This is an amazing bar. So geeky, so high energy, and so full of wonderful nerdy people. I adore karaōke nights; and what awesome bartenders! Really, lives up to the hype. I’ve never felt more comfortable in a bar setting then I do here, and I love making so many new friends every time I swing by. The drinks can be pricey — like drinks in all of NYC are — so I’d pregame before, and then buy one and heavily tip your bartender anyway. Though Tuesdays are $ 4 well drink nights, so go there for that. And yes, the tardis bathroom is bigger on the inside. :)

Love this bar! Great cocktails, good beer, outstanding ambience. Every time I am here I end up trying more drinks and hanging much longer than I anticipated. Frankly, I can’t think of a better geeky bar in NYC.

Love this bar! When I went there was a great love band. The place was packed but we still managed to get a few bar stools near the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, that was definitely a highlight! For those Doctor Who fans out there the bathroom is a single stall with a door decorated like the TARDIS! Small police box on the outside, but of course bigger on the inside ;D the paintings inside are really cool too. Worth a few drinks to just visit the bathroom!

Was walking around and stopped in, after realizing there was a live band playing. The place itself is pretty tiny, but it wasnt that bad. There was a nice crowd that was developing to see the band. I wouldnt mind returning, since i live in the neighborhood. I only stayed for one drink and a song or two, so this review isnt exactly valid. But when i do return, this review willl be updated. Friendly staff, btw.

I love the Dr. Who theme at this place. It’s a small local watering hole that serves«sonic screwdrivers» based on the many doctors. They have some nerdy events coordinated here along with some bands and even screenings. I’ve never been here while a band was playing so I can’t say what that experience would be like. We came for a friends birthday and he’s clearly an avid Whovian as am I. The tardis bathroom was amusing. I admittedly spent a few extra minutes in there just taking photo’s of it’s awesomeness. During our visit they were having a screening of Parker Lewis Can’t Loose; an old TV show from back when we were kids(showing our age here now). We arrived around 4 and there weren’t too many people there aside from the crowd we came to see but around 6PM more patron’s started to arrive. They run happy hour until 8pm. Drafts on tap were $ 4 each and they had a decent selection. We grabbed a Bluepoint Summer Ale and a Blood Orange IPA. The taps were clean and the beer was nicely chilled. The bartender reminded me of Lena Dunham but thinner with blonde hair and a Sia-esque haircut. I hope she doesn’t take offense to that remark if she reads this lol it’s not meant to be an insult. In any case she was friendly and mostly stayed at the bar but every so often walked by and grabbed the empties off our table but didn’t really interfere with our little viewing party. They have a medium sized flat screen on the wall in the second room for the screenings but it’s proportionate for the area where it’s placed. There’s a few booths with comfortable seating and some tables in that room and it’s pretty dark with dim lighting. A small set up with some drums are in the stage. Later on that night after the screening there was another event at 10pm; Nerd karaōke. We didn’t stay for that but it sounded ummmm interesting. The other cool thing about this place is that they let you order food and just hang out. Since they don’t really serve food aside from small snacks ie: pretzels it works in their favor since when people eat they usually need something to wash it down with therefore purchase more drinks. Even though it’s a themed bar it doesn’t strive to be anything that it’s not. It’s non-pretentious, really casual and very Brooklyn. I dig that! I wouldn’t recommend it for extra large groups as you may find yourselves a bit confined but a small to medium sized group of friends is ideal for visiting this establishment. Cheers!

If I lived in town this would be my regular spot. Perfect for any doctor who fan they have a tardus bathroom! They have a weekly happy hour for teachers which is the shit. There is very low lighting with classy steam punk décor. Way Station is in a wonderful little neighborhood, in walking distance to the Brooklyn art museum. Great, diverse crowd but not over crowded.

There seems to be a reviewer who seems to have a personal vendetta against the owner of The Way Station, so, I decided I needed to put in my two cents. This bar is a god send. It’s been just at a year since a friend from high school, who lives locally, convinced me to come to the wayststion. It was an instant fit. The bartenders and the regulars(and trust me, you’ll know the regulars) have been extremely welcoming. I was a frequent visitor, commuting every 3(ish) months from texas, it was the friendships I made at the wayststion that made it easier to finally move. On to the atmosphere, It’s not just about Doctor Who. It’s about letting your inner nerd abound. Yes, there’s a T.A.R.D.I.S. but that is just a way that get people in. Come for the T.A.R.D.I.S, stay for the reasonably priced drinks, the awesome bartenders, great live music, random events annnnnd if you’re there on Sunday nights you have got to stay for Nerdeoke. I would recommend this place to anyone. They’re all badass.

Wonderful atmosphere. The bartenders were very friendly and pleasant. One of the bartenders, girl with a cool blue haircut, was on a break but overheard me asking my friend about the drinks, and helped me out. My friend was trying to muggle-shame me for not being into Doctor Who, but the bartender did not judge. Thank you for tolerating muggles, girl bartender with cool blue haircut. Drinks were good. My friends and I tried quite a few drinks, and the Stormageddon was my favorite. There was live music and the bands were entertaining. Bands had free buttons. I like buttons, and I like free stuff. Good beef empanadas too!

I think I just got transported back in time… Did I step through Twilight Zone, or fall through the Mirror into Rabbit Hole? Because there is a bunny hopping on stage, wearing tuxedo and white gloves! I feel like running after her, but something holding me back. Ahhh, it’s my drink begging me to finish it… Who knows what will happen if I drink it? This is a mystical place after all… Finally getting my bearings, I realize that I am at The Way Station. Still not at present time it seems… there is barkeep that dressed in corsets… The drinks are plentiful and wonderful, and there is a man in old-fashioned suit and top hat on stage(well, may be he is not wearing top hat, but I am sure he has one in a back room, he definitely fits the profile) …and the show starts… The Burlesque is in full effect. Oh, the performance. The naughty faces. The music that fits the act. Encore, anyone??? Heck, yes!
