This is easily turning slowly into one of my favorite Brooklyn craft beer bars. It’s owl themed for one thing. I have a small obsession with owls and when I see them all over the walls in cute decorative art work, I internally squeal with delight. The vibe is so chill and laid back. It’s dark, a little grungy, but with dimly lit candle lighting. Pinball machines are in the back. There is no food but they allow outside food. If Bagel Pub(not a bar but a great idea for a bar) is open next door they make great bagels. If not, there’s various taco joints across the street. I feel like the no food bars are the ones that really tend to just focus on those beers. The menu is usually one of the best beer menus I’ve seen aside from the Double Windsor with carefully selecting very unique ales and changing them at an insanely frequent rate. Also, happy hour is until 7pm every day and you get a buck off your beverage. Recently came in and tried their Mystic Spectral Evidence(12% abv) as well as their Eric More Cow Bell Milkstout from Singlecut. Note, they also let you pick the size of your beer in 8÷12÷16 oz pours for most things. Very reasonably priced and I must say pouring beer into a wine goblet glass is genius because whatever I was poured seemed way more than 8 or 12oz. They also do a sampler of 4oz pours for whatever you feel like drinking off the menu. They just halve the price of what an 8oz is for each one and boom — mini beer flight!

Loved TOF and found the bartender, Robin(sp?), to be way nicer than what we’re accustomed to in the area. Definitely the type of bar where you can sit all day and try new beers & ciders.

Unfortunately the commute to Bklyn is a hike for me. I always stop by usually whenever I’m in the neighborhood — usually after a run. Bar staff is always friendly and knowledgable whether it’s 2 on a Thursday or 7 on a Saturday. Probably cray busy afterward. Go here.

The Owl Farm is my favorite pub in the half square mile around my apartment on 9th Street in Park Slope. First and foremost, the beer selection is great. The atmosphere is pleasant(dim lights, cool bar) and the crowd is fairly diverse compared to a lot of Park Slope watering holes. It flirts with hipness but never lapses into pretentiousness — at the end of the day, it’s just a friendly, neighborhood pub.

My favorite bar. They have, by far, the best beer selection, great prices and seriously great bartenders. The space is super cozy and spacious at the same time. Overall a nice, laid-back local crowd. It’s all just awesome and I would spend every night hanging here if my liver and wallet would allow it.

The Owl Farm should be the second or third stop on any Park Slope suds crawl(The first being The Gate or Mission Dolores). I didn’t say first because once you start hanging out here with the very well-curated tap list featuring names like Cigar City, Other Half, Goose Island, Hill Farmstead and several others depending on the week it may very well be your last stop. Coupled with pinball machines and plenty of good eats nearby it should be. Most weekend nights it’s raucous enough to celebrate with friends and during the day chill enough to read a book with some of the east coast’s best brews. With the woody interior and dim lighting it’s not a bad place to bring your date after you’ve treated her to the 9pc chicken McNuggets a few doors down.

I’ve been here two times, and both times it was for the same good friend’s birthday. Hey, he really knows what he loves, so why mess with a good thing? Anyway, I’ll preface this with the fact that I live in Manhattan… so it’s rare for me to head over to BK even though there are lots of beautiful and great spots here. The only reason for this is because I’m really lazy. It’s a laid back bar with plenty of seating. The ambiance is super chill and the bar has a lot of great ciders to choose from. The menu has so many options so it’s a great place to go and try some different beers and ciders! There are also video game machines in the back if you want to take a break from drinking. The staff here is very nice, and we were able to sing happy birthday and watch our friend blow out his 30 some candles to celebrate! Really like it here and have had a great time, both times I came. Definitely a great spot to get some great drinks at a good price.

Great beers and great atmosphere. Tons of dimly lit tables, loud music, good bartenders. When I went, they were having a sour beer weekend, so they had a ton of awesome beers from all over the world. Love love loved it! Great place to hang out. They don’t take AmEx though!

Pretty much love this place. Always a rotating menu of interesting beers, friendly bartenders, and dog friendly. My beagle loved it here.

Awesome Beer Selection, wonderful vibe, they have 3 pinball machines(mars attacks, one of my favorite, if they had Adams Family, i might have to move in), the have distilled beers, they play great music and I absolutely love the lighting. What else is there to say? My favorite Bar in NYC is Bar Great Harry, these cheeky bastards own that place, among several others. These guys are pros. Open till 4 am. Being a bar owner myself, I have nothing but the utmost respect and reverence for them.

I’d heard good things about this place, went on a Monday night, and, it was pretty cool. Barring it was a monday, it wasn’t crowded. Draft selection was on point, had one of my favorite sours(Bruery Sour in the Rye) on tap, so I couldn’t complain, well, I could, but i won’t. Guys behind the bar were nice to everyone around. Big bar area, two pinball machines in the back. Looking for a nice relaxed place to grab a drink, come here.

Had an Allagash Quad that was insanely good. Was here on a rainy Saturday night. It wasn’t packed, but had enough people for the perfect vibe. Very cozy and dark(a couple next to us was making out). Top notch beer selection. Didn’t try the food.

Is it weird when a bartender can just look at you, and know what beer you need? Is it insulting when that beer is the Jerkface 9000?* Is it soul-crushing when she’s right? I don’t know the answers to those questions. But The Owl Farm is the answer to these questions: What bar has one of the best beer selections in the neighborhood? What’s the best thing that could’ve happened to Harry Boland’s? Where can you find the best bartenders, one of whom is a fantastic goalie? What’s the best place to eat Fatty Daddy tacos while washing them down with beer? What’s actually a really weird name for a bar that I never even gave any thought to until I started writing this review? I mean, are they growing owls here? Not that I’ve seen. But seriously, it’s a great bar. ______________ *Actually very tasty, and not too hoppy:

The Owl Farm. Perfection. Best beer selection on tap and bottle. Well drinks are great as well. It’s dim, but that doesn’t bother me. It’s my favorite bar in Brooklyn. They don’t serve food, but you can BYOF. They have chips, though. It’s dog-friendly and they have pinball machines in the back. If only they had a yard out back!(Note: $ 20 min on credit card, but there’s a Chase right next door.)

Owl Farm has one of the best beer selections I have ever seen. It boasts about two dozen beers on tap with many seasonal options that you won’t find elsewhere. In addition to appealing to seasonal tastes, Owl Farm offers a selection of beers that will please any beer aficionado including sour ales, strong belgian ales, and other rare drafts and bottles. Simply put, Owl Farm has top flight beer. Owl Farm also has a nice atmosphere. There is plenty of seating and the bar plays solid alternative rock at a reasonable volume. I also like that they have a few pinball machines in the rear. As a disclaimer, don’t put your quarters in to Arabian Nights! All in all, Owl Farm is a must stop in the Park Slope area for anyone looking to try some new funky beers.

Owl Farm has become my favorite beer bar in Brooklyn. It may not be the biggest or hippest bar or have the most tap lines, but what it does have is a great relaxed comfortable vibe with super friendly staff and really impressive rotating selection of drafts. Prices are very reasonable and they offer 8/12/16oz pours so you can actually try a wide range of beers(and that 8oz pour is key with some of the 12%+ ABV beers they offer). On top of this they regularly have pretty amazing tap takeovers by some of the best breweries in the country. These aren’t tap takeovers where they bring in a few kegs from a specific brewery, but rather they actually bring in representatives from the brewery who often bring very special and unusual one off kegs. In the case of Bear Republic, the owner of the brewery was there(who kindly guided us through the order we should try their dozen or so beers on tap, and then ended paying for all our rounds!). The great thing about these events is that you can still also almost always get a seat at the bar. Of course the Founders event this week was different and the bar was the most packed I have ever seen it while well over 100 people waited for the pouring of the super rare Founder CBS at 7pm. They kicked that keg in 30 minutes. Okay so maybe they should lose a star for their vile bathroom(I think it may have been featured in Trainspotting), but the service and beer make you quickly forget. And you can always use the bathroom at Peppino’s or Fatty Daddy when getting take out to bring to The Owl Farm.

Word has got out. Great variety of beers, bring your own food and awesome friendly bartenders. When you have all of these in one place, people will come. My husband and I have been coming to Owl Farm when it first opened two and a half years ago. Something about this bar keeps us coming back. It may be because of the: — Great beers from breweries like Other Half, Hill Farmstead, BFM, Alpine, etc. that we can’t get enough of — Beer events they have like the Stout event where my husband and I came to try out the different stouts they had on tap for 3 consecutive days — Dog friendliness where you can bring your dogs into the bar. Note that as of 4÷1÷2015, no dogs will be allowed in the bar from 6pm — 12am but allowed other times when the bar is open. — Awesome bartenders & manager that know the locals and love beer as much as we do and friendly with the newcomers. — Happy hour special till 7pm The list can go on. Go see for yourself how Owl Farm is. It won’t disappoint.

I tried writing a proper review to express my newfound love for The Owl Farm(pretty much my favorite bar these days), a fawned-over tribute in structured prose, with passion and lots of big words, but what came out was a disjointed, piecemealed, too-excited outpouring of reasons for why this place is so, so great. In other words, a list. So, yeah. Here’s a list: 1. Chill dogs.(Not to be confused with chili dogs.) Yep, this place is totally canine-friendly and you can totally find a few pups hanging out here pretty much at any given time. 2. Fantastic taps. Twenty-eight of ‘em, if you wanna talk numbers. This is a serious beer drinkers’ hideout, with craft kegs learning towards Northeastern microbreweries, all available in different sized pours for some self-imposed sampler sessions, if you will. I’d suggest any number of beers I’ve had here(consistently featured lately are some standout sours), but the selection is ever-changing and I wouldn’t want your heart set on one in particular. No need, as everything I’ve had here has been delicious, including their… 3. Ciders. Ciders galore. Ciderpalooza. Cider City. This is frankly the biggest cider selection I’ve seen anywhere — on draft, in bottles, or by special bottle pours. With a strong, long list rivaling the beers here, it’s a straight-up boozy orchard up here in Owl Farm. 4. Fernet Branca. On draft. Should satisfy the San Fran transplants.(Seriously, they have taps for everything here.) 5. Pinball. Three machines in the back, to be exact. A high score on any of ‘em scores you a free pint. Owl Farm is also an official spot for league play. Yeah, you read that right — as in pinball leagues. Two of them, apparently — who knew? 6. Day-drinking. No real commentary here. Just day-drinking. 7. A certain je né sais quoi. Not sure if it’s the stark space, the unfinished cabin feel, or the should-be-pretentious-but-totally-unpretentious vibe, but Owl Farm has its finger on the pulse of, well, something, without really giving that much of a shit about anything. Except maybe, you know, pups, booze, and pinball. Priorities. I could go on, but seven reasons seems like more than enough. I mean, I pretty much sold myself on this place halfway through writing #2. Chill dogs and fantastic taps, man. Everything else is just gravy. With a ton of great beer bars in New York, and particularly Brooklyn, The Owl Farm is perched at the tippy-top in my book.

Great bar specializing in beer and cider. Let’s face it, many bars with a fantastic beer selection have a halfhearted selection of other drinks. This bar has a great menu of beers. But I recently went gluten-free on doctor’s advice, so I chose a bottle of wild fermented cider from the Basque Country. It was crisp and sour, not the sweet cider I’m accustomed to, but enjoyable. Later I had a cocktail from the full bar; they have a nice selection of local craft spirits too. The bartenders are very friendly and attentive. And the décor is fun, with cute line drawings of owls adorning the walls.
