Great staff, the entire catalog of AC/DC on the juke, and amazing selection of Irish whiskeys. Free bagels on Saturday afternoons.

My friend took me here to grab a quick drink. The bar itself was pretty empty on a late Saturday afternoon. The music was at an acceptable level without being too loud. The bathroom, though small, was clean. Also, the staff seemed friendly.

Fun and cheap spot for drinks. They had a great, creative cocktail list, all for about $ 9. I also loved the festive Christmas décor and vibe. It got busy but not outrageous on a recent Saturday night – not sure I’d make this a destination but if you live in Greenpoint it’s worth a stop!

Best bar for miles if you are looking to get tanked and meet some Effed up people. This place is THE dive. Douche bags in williamsburg pay top dollar to try to make bars like this place but hipsters dont understand that nobody cares about your simplton selves at the ol Mark. Time to get drunk and go to Mark bar, so dudes strap on your skinny jeans jump on your store bought rat bike cruise on up and down bedford ave and send your chicks down to the Mark in their yoga pants to party with the big boys.

This is my local bar of choice. Not too fancy, not too crowded, reasonably priced booze, friendly and courteous bartenders, non-pretentious clientele, pool table and skee ball. Thank you Mark Bar for providing a consistent bar that I know beforehand won’t ruin my night. I may live a block away but I’d go out of my way to come here no matter where I lived in Greenpoint. And if I’ve had a shitty experience at another bar in the neighborhood, I’ll always stop by for my last drink here to erase the bad time!

A great dive bar with fantastic beer, scotch, tequila and whiskey. They have a great selection of booze. I had a Belgium beer the bartender Pete told me the name but I forgot it. Bye this time I was feeling good. They had bagels with spreads and a toaster free food Saturday and Sunday. One night of the week they have free pizza. They serve the beers in all kinds of neat glasses like in Belgium. It was getting pretty busy when we left it must be packed at night. I will return.

I wish there was a negative star to give this diarrhea/vomit/broken dreams smelling shit hole. NYC dive bars are fun but this is like a sad bar in rural Wisconsin. No hope of pleasure, beauty or escape. Just utilitarian alcoholic service.

This is a great bar. If you need more, you won’t get it.

I imagine if you looked up «dive bar» in any kind of encyclopedia(new or old) you would find a picture of this place. As a DC resident who visits one of my good friends who lives a few blocks away, trips to The Mark Bar during my semi-annual visits are somewhat of a tradition. First off, the bartenders are very friendly and seem to treat customers like friends(I get that this is a neighborhood bar but you’d be surprised how many times I’ve been to similar watering holes and had horrible service). Secondly, they have a bunch of beers on tap and seem to rotate a few quite often(someone who actually lives here should clarify though). Their happy hour specials are pretty awesome and they hilariously serve free continental breakfast(bagels and cream cheese) on Sundays which is a nice touch! They usually have pretty good music on rotation as well(I’ve learned that someone has a great iPod playlist here) and we were even treated to LCD Soundsystem’s seminal«New York, I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down» on night at bar close(along with one of the bartenders and a few customers singing along) which was truly awesome and epic. All in all, I recommend this place for a solid neighborhood bar-it’s like an old classic record, you just can’t go wrong with The Mark Bar…

Come for the darts(literally, one of the only places in northern Greenpoint that has a dartboard) — stay for the awesome music. \m/ Sunday night bartender also rules!(except when he plays U2 …_)

The Mark bar is your friendly local neighborhood bar where you will always be greeted kindly and everyone knows your name. Cheap drinks very personable bartenders and a wide variety of good music. If you are new to the area dont be afraid to stop in. Lots of interesting scallywags to lighten up the mood.

Cheap beers, cool vibe and great patrons– the hallmarks of any great dive bar. ohhh, I forgot the free pizza. This place is the quintessential Dive bar. Its dark with tough looking bartenders — even the pretty ones. The crowd looks local. Everyone is friendly. There’s lots of seating and plenty of standing room. They have pool and Ski-ball. If you want to know Greenpoint, get to know this bar.

Good prices, good drinks, good music, pool table and no food so dogs can come in… what’s not to like?

This place is kinda bizarre for a normal bar. I came here one time because Genesis P-Orridge was DJing and when I got there s/he was set up on the pool table. It’s like a regular neighborhood bar except for some reason it has a bidet. If you’re bored it’s fun to crank the bidet up full blast so the water is cascading off the ceiling, soaking everything in the bathroom.

A great dive bar in the area, especially for Happy Hour. Basically everything on their wide beer selection is half price, which is an extremely good value.

Quintessential Greenpoint bar. $ 2PBR, $ 5 Magic Hat and you have your pool table, skeeball, etc. It’s a bit out of the way, which explains all the free food they use to lure customers in — but I’m more than ok with free Sunday bagels. Their happy hour should be called Really Happy Large Time-Frame because there’s free pizza and it seems to last all freaking day. The place isn’t perfect, its long and narrow and hard to move when it’s crowded. Bathrooms smell vile. One of the bartenders makes mixed drinks that could kill a small child. Also, their typical crowd is best described as creepy and/or sketchy.

A solid above-average local dive. Good spirit/beer selection. Beer shot specials. Happy hour. Solid pool table. Darts. Ski-ball. ’nuff said.

Nice wood old bar with a bunch of Belgian beers. I got a Leffe on tap for 6 bucks, good deal. I didn’t stay there long and it was pretty dead but it seemed like a pretty chill place to hang and enjoy good beer.
