Was bar hopping in Williamsburg last night and ran into this spot… reason being, they have a pool table & I felt like playing. Unfortunately I couldn’t play because it was league night but the place was very festive, drinks were great & the people were very friendly. I would definitely visit again.

The owners clearly abandoned any pretense at standards a long time ago. Not a place I can every imagine going again for any reason.

Oh, wow! A good find. Went for trivia on Thursday night. It’s very hard to find a good trivia in Brooklyn on a Thursday. Advertised to start at 8:30pm. Things didn’t get rolling until 9pm. There was leftover food from a party they were good enough to let us have dibs to. For whatever reason Red Bull Vodkas were free that night. I appreciated the fact there was an option for the people coming from New Jersey. The trivia was very fun. Not too hard. Free shots at random points for reasons I can’t remember(oops). Winner gets $ 40 bar tab to use next time. $ 5 Brooklyn Lager and Brooklyn IPA. The bartender was very friendly, and allowed us to have a good time(which, to be honest, we were having a VERY, VERY good time with our dancing and whatnot). Plenty of seating for all. Nice couches, inexpensive drinks, close to the Bedford stop. Solid place to invite people out for a Thursday trivia.

Quality neighborhood bar with pool table and great ambiance. Staff are super friendly and will be sure to take of you. If you’ve never had a sausage roll, look no further. For the sweeter tooth, go for the pretzel with chocolate… sounds random but will give you 2nd wind like other.

So if your looking for a good whiskey bar, The Craic is NOT the place, the drinks all look good on paper, but if you like your drink tasting like water, I’d suggest otherwise. I ordered an old fashion, simple classic drink, but they botched the heck out it.

I had an event here for about 16 colleagues after a LONG day of meetings. We did a two-flight tasting and they were kind enough to have one of their whisky reps, Nicola come and host the event. She was awesome and super knowledgable. Everyone had a really really great time and felt very well taken care of. Adam was behind the bar and even though he was super busy he made sure to check in with me to see that everyone was okay. No one, including the rest of the bar waited for a drink. If my tip ceilings weren’t restricted I would have tipped him double! Scott who helped me put it all together was awesome, super flexible and easy to work with. He even checked in with me the next day to make sure we were happy. Can’t say enough about this place and when I’m in Brooklyn again for business or on my own — I’ll be back!

Excellent beer and whiskey lists — you’ll find some really great stuff that you’re unlikely to come across at most other places. Bartenders are really cool as well. Big space, pool table, trivia… a much-needed non-hipster bar in North Williamsburg.

Put money into the TouchTunes jukebox to play a song, only to have it skipped by the bartender. Not worth my time or money, better bars a few blocks away.

Went there to have a good time, but when I tried to play something on the jukebox they skipped it, which is shit because I paid for the credits on the app. Don’t use touchtunes if you won’t allow people to utilize it.

Place is cold. Beer prices are high. The pool table is messed up. And I’m almost convinced the bar staff is racist.

The Craic is my favorite spot in Williamsburg. I come here at least once a week with my group of friends. The crowd is usually a great range of people with a lot of locals. The music is always really good. Either played by the bartenders or the juke box. Every Sunday and Tuesday they have a live band. The music is never too loud and there’s plenty of tables and couches if you can’t get a seat at the bar. You can also bring your own food or get it delivered which is clutch. The staff is AMAZING. Ben the bartender is the friendliest person I’ve ever met. Makes everyone feel like his best friend and is so hospitable.(And he’s easy on the eyes) If you need help picking a drink everyone is always helpful. Basically if you’re looking for a fun bar with quick service and a friendly staff this is the place to be.

The Craic is a great neighborhood spot with an extensive Scotch, Irish Whiskey, and Bourbon list. My friends ordered hot toddies and I ordered a 15-year Dalwhinnie, a single malt Scotch from the Highlands. I was very impressed that the bartender served the Dalwhinnie in a Glencairn glass. We planned to stay for one drink, but we were having such a good time that my friends ordered another round of hot toddies and I opted for a 14-year Oban, another single malt from the Highlands. The only disappointment is the bar food. Not that they tout their bar food. It is a pub, after all. The grilled cheese is alright, but that’s it — unless you want Planter’s peanut or Zappo’s chips.

Awesome location, reasonable prices, lots of seating, and never a douchey crowd. Can’t ask Scott from Scotland any more than that!

Probably one of the best whiskey lists in NYC. The only other place I have discovered with a similar whiskey list ended up being owned by the same guy. The jukebox is an easy way to spend a quick $ 20 on good music. One down side is that the bathrooms always seem to be on the gross side for a female(they are very dark) and the sink was missing a handle. Oh, and cell phone service is terrible down stairs. All in all, a great spot to bring friends.

A nice below ground space with windows so you can see into the street with a pretty spectacular list of Scottish single malt whisky choices. Yea, yea, I know, other countries make single malts. Not like Scotland my friend. Settled in with a friend for a nice pre-dinner malt + beer on tap(two Scottish beers I’d never tried) including an Isle of Skye beer and another, Innis & Gunn, a sweet malty beer that was quite to my liking and pair nice with a 10 year. Bruichladdich. My friend had the Aberlour a’Bunadh. Two malts as different as can be yet both delightful. Dark space, nice bartender, sparse crowd for a Wednesday evening. A solo guitar player that was actually pretty decent fired up about the time we departed. Finger sandwiches came out about the time he started playing. Cucumber and cheese – well, knock us out! Weeeeee. Heh. Nice space. No pretense, relaxed, easy-going. If I lived in the area I’d clearly be a regular. Scotland’s single malt whisky. Have it sparingly in small doses. It’s a good thing.

Isle of Skye is a nice cross between a casual, low key pub and a high-end whiskey/scotch bar. The prices are fair allowing your curiosity and wallet to indulge yourself on multiple glasses while growing some hair on your chest. Your non-scotch drinking friends will enjoy the decent beer and cocktail selection so park your group onto one of the cushy leather couches and knock back a few. If you’re new to the scotch scene, chat up one of the bartenders to get a recommendation. The menu book is super helpful and describes the flavor profiles for each variety they have in house. There is even a page listing the bar’s recommended scotches based on taste and value. Their take on an Old Fashion is a worthy one and while the Glasgow Dram was too sweet for my taste, the Rabbie Burns was nicely balanced, cool and perfect for a humid day when not in the mood for straight up scotch. On a recent Saturday night, the scene was lively but not at all crowded perhaps either due to it to being new or that it is not the kind of place to get sloshed for cheap. Anyway, I hope scotch lovers and those searching for a place to convene over good drinks and conversation take notice of this place. I see myself coming here quite often.
