Juices, smoothies, coffees, lots of space, snacks, and so on. What’s not to love? A great stop on the way to McCarren park!

Fantastic experience on a recent visit to the Bean. Relaxing atmosphere, delicious coffee, and solid music. The service was speedy, and my barista, Terilyn, could not have been nicer or more helpful. I’ll definitely be recommending the Bean to friends, and will be back again next time I’m in Williamsburg.

Just went to this location for the first time yesterday! Got the Mona Lisa which was delicious and exactly what I was hoping it would taste like. Yum! The staff was so friendly too. The redheaded barista(sorry I didn’t catch your name!) was really sweet and patient when I was trying to decide what to get. Will definitely be coming back here! Great service.

They accept the Dollop App, code PXWRXP Having Been to all other locations with PayPal offers, I was happy to be able to have Dollop credit for a Dough donut here. Friendly staff and a bit less hectic than their 3 spots across the river.

I’m not normally in Williamsburg, but I stopped at the bean this weekend and was pleasantly surprised! Good coffee and better customer service… didn’t catch her name but the redhead barista was super friendly and really attentive! I’d definitely come back.

All-around not good! The girl with red hair gave me a HUGE attitude after I asked why my beverage was sweet when nothing sweet is listed in the ingredients. She proceeded to roll her eyes at me and whisper under her breath to her co-worker. I received downright rude service. The Ice coffee is bitter. It’s bad, really bad. Long lines! Not sure why people come here. There are plenty of places to get great coffee around here.

it is wonderful here, great coffee, great healthy options HOWEVER, the music is very hit or miss — today 6÷9÷16 it was so terrible(Sirius Venus) and the air conditioner was on so full blast that it seemed like a plot to get people to leave. When it isn’t cold and they’re not playing Sirius Venus, the Bean is Heaven on Earth.

I have lived in the neighborhood for nearly 15 years and have seen more great places come and go than I care to remember. The Bean, imo, is the oasis amidst the new and arid landscape that has become Williamsburg. From the moment you walk in, no matter how early in the morning, the open, lofty interior and vibrant colors hint that today just might be awesome. Add to that a friendly staff, managed by the ever-so charming Terilyn, who’s smile alone will add some sparkle to anyone’s day, and you’re off to a great start. I find The Bean to have a bit of a west coast vibe, reminding me of some cafés in LA I used to love. Everything about it has a relaxed, easy-going and unpretentious demeanor. This isn’t the ubiquitous, sterile, nor overly«hipster» establishment you’re more likely to find in the area. The wall of giant window panes allow for just the perfect amount of light to come through, making it a great place to let your hair down, gather with friends, enjoy a great coffee, smoothie, bagel or acai bowl, or if needing to get some work done — from a few minutes to a few hours — with the complementary wi-fi, there is a welcoming feeling here that is often hard to come by these days. Lastly, being one short block away from McCarren Park and all the boxes are checked in favor of making The Bean possibly the best coffee shop in Williamsburg.

I recently moved to Williamsburg and this is my go-to coffee place. The staff is the best;(Terilyn and Henry specifically) they are so candid and attentive and genuinely friendly. I’m a simple guy, so I highly recommend the classic dark roast; it’s smooth, strong and most importantly It’s not burnt coffee. If you’re in the area you definitely should stop and check it out PS: their fruit tarts are very good too!

I love going to this coffee shop especially when Robert is around. He is such a happy go lucky barista and I can’t help but feel good when he serves me my order. Also, gotta love the smoothies here. Where else can you find a coffee shop that serves smoothies? There aren’t that much coffee shops like them!

I LOVE The Bean. I always get a peppermint mocha latte that is to die for. Also their smoothies are amazing. Try the coffee ones. The manager, Terilyn, always gives me extra peanut butter in my smoothies without me even having to ask now. She knows the customers really well and always remembers the little things we like. I try to stop by on my way to work every morning, sometimes just to say hi.

For a coffee cafeteria, this melting pot makes a really good smoothie. Last thing I tried was the berrylicious«Brain Booster». Bathrooms are not the cleanest, and filled with some really graphic reading material on the wall by the woderful local artists of Williamsburg. Coffee was good; I’ve had better espresso elsewhere. Not bad overall.

Delicious drinks, great service, good vibes. You can meet a friend for a conversation, read a book, do work — somehow The Bean on Bedford works for all situations.

I love the service at the Bean! They are always friendly and helpful. I’m not a coffee drinker so I appreciate their variety of teas and hot chocolate. It’s a great environment to work or relax.

The Bean next to Union Square has a great and understanding team of stuff. They are open and welcome everyone, with dogs… without dogs… some people come and go, some stay for hours working and studing and it is all allright! I always have a good time working there! Also it has a good teas selection… and it is not a Sturbucks… kinda normal, down to earth place… Keep it up guys!

An employee just walked up to me and ask me if I was going to buy anything. I’ve been sitting here for less than 5 minutes. Not an hour. And I’m here pretty consistently. What is this, Starbucks? I really like the atmosphere of the shop, the spaciousness and wifi and the coziness of an NYC homegrown coffee shop, but I find that a little insulting.

One thing my friends and I noticed about Williamsburg: for an area with so many hipsters… All of their coffee shops close at 7PM on a Saturday! Who does that?! Luckily, we discovered The Bean on the walk to the G train(it was running, guys!). It’s a cute coffee shop, a bit larger than others in the area, with a huge selection of smoothies, coffee drinks, and coffee smoothies(I wonder what those taste like). I enjoyed the mocha with soy milk and for $ 4.75, it’s slightly cheaper than some other coffee joints. My friends loved their cappuccino. We also split a cake that had a lovely lemon taste to it and was, surprisingly, vegan. The atmosphere here is hipster-ish but not overly so. People on their MacBooks, computers and a printer you can choose, outlets to charge your various devices. A lot of people seemed to be ordering smoothies so I might need to give those a try the next time I go. I also appreciate they’re open a few hours later than the other coffee shops in the area.

Not a bad spot to grab a coffee and snack in the land of hipster pretentiousness. Wandering around Bedford Ave last night after a day of beer fun at the Brooklyn Brewery we were hard pressed to find a place to get caffeinated. Either most of the coffee joints were closed by 7pm or had little left to nosh on. As we headed further down the block we found The Bean which was open until 10pm. Nice selection of coffees and hot/cold specialty drinks, an assortment of pastries including gluten free and vegan. free wifi, plenty of seating, a cozy and eclectic décor. Turned into a good place to sit for a while over a hot drink. Staff was ok and based on who serves you they either can offer a knowledgeable description of the snacks and cakes in the display, or have little to no opinon. There is one large unisex bathroom here that is clean and offers some graffiti on the walls to look at, but not in a dive bar sense.
