I went in here to buy an umbrella, it was pouring out. I had been in here before and purchased a few Shirts .The Lady who was initially helping me with the umbrella was super sweet and polite, she checked me out and as soon as I left the store I opened the umbrella and noticed a flaw. So I went back in and told her what was wrong, all the sudden out of nowhere this other employee says«I think you should just return it then«she says this in a rude and snotty tone. The lady who checked me out was going to open another umbrella to see if they all were like mine. So I said to the nasty employee«please open one to show me» she does so and says again she thinks I should return it. Meanwhile it’s pouring outside. After she opened a new one she disappears and I asked the polite employee who she was and she tells me the nasty rude bitch was the owner!!! I let her know I will not be returning! No wonder the place is always empty!!! Save your money people, they don’t have anything you can’t find at any other boutique!!!

If I could give a zero review, then I would. The service is completely horrible. I told the sales clerk that I was offended by her actions and instead of giving a sincere apology, she decides to say, I didn’t mean to offend you. If a person is apologetic then they state that they are sorry. I proceeded by asking for a manager and she said there isn’t one available. I asked for the owner and she didn’t know the information. I tried to tell her in a humane way that her customer service and choice of words were really out of line and she walks away in the middle of the conversation after she states that I made a big deal out of nothing, starts an argument, and doesn’t care. This person was completely rude and when someone corrects her nicely, she is unable to take positive criticism. Stay away if you want better service. It’s not worth it since there are so many other options!

I’ve shopped at Tango several times since moving to the neighborhood and have found their helpful-service and selection great for a working mom with über-limited time like me. I have found several items that have become staples within my wardrobe– including a pair of navy Vince pants. I was displeased when said pants developed a large rip — not along a seam. The women at Tango called Vince on my behalf but because the pants were purchased more than 3 months earlier, Vince wouldn’t provide a credit or exchange(really??) However — I was extremely impressed and appreciative when the store owner offered to accommodate me on behalf of the store. That truly shows that Tango cares about its customers and providing good service.

I’ve been shopping here for years, both for casual clothing and work clothes. The sales staff is always friendly and helpful. They pick out great stuff for me to try on, both practical essentials as well as things I might normally pass over, but which end up working great for me. I leave with a mix of stuff I needed and stuff that’s fun and perks my wardrobe up. I can count on the staff to tell me the truth if something does not work on my body, and that’s worth the prices at this store!

Ok I’m totally redoing my previous review, having been back to the store a couple of times since my cranky review. I decided to give Tango another try on a particularly bad hair day, post-dentist visit where half my face was numb. I was down to one pair of jeans and needed to upgrade my work wardrobe. I happened upon the absolutely delightful, low key Megan, who was helpful but not pushy, and made some great suggestions. She didn’t seem to mind that I couldn’t move half my face, either. I ended up buying quite a bit more than I planned to, but have worn every single thing she found for me multiple times. She has a great eye and a lot of patience. I went back again today to look for a winter coat, and though the stock was low, she once again came through and found something that turned out to be just perfect. Tango is the kind of store where having someone help you is really the whole point, and when the service is on, it’s fantastic. I’m happy to say that I’m a born again fan.

I love this store. As an older woman I appreciate that they carry very cool clothes that work on my body. I have found the sales people enormously helpful. I have brought in several friend and they all loved the store and found things to buy. Some stuff expensive bit great selection of items like three dot tops in styles often hard to find. Also a real community small business

This is bar none the best boutique for women in the Brooklyn Heights/Dumbo area which is sorely lacking in that arena. The brands are awesome, new products come in frequently, and it’s a pleasure not to have to run to Manhattan for Theory, DVF, 3 Dots, Max Mara, a pair of Spanx(I admit it) or a last minute pair of great shoes. Plus the t-shirt selection is as good as what you’d find at Barney’s Co-Op or Scoop. I’ve been shopping here for years and am surprised to hear negative reviews about the staff. They’ve never been anything but helpful and nice to me. I find them more«passionate» than aggressive. Some of my favorite outfits today are ones I originally said no to… but someone with a good eye there insisted I at least try it. She was right, damn her. But what I really appreciate is they’re not afraid to say«ugh…that’s no good. The cut is awful on that dress.» Definitely not cheap though. If only I made a zillion dollars a year, I’d be here a whole lot more.

They have a good selection of DVF, Theory, Max Mara, Tory Burch, etc. I’ve bought a few things from them before. Prices are not that great — they still charge full price for items that have gone on sale at the flagship stores. Quality of customer service has been mixed. One of the younger sales woman was nice, BUT very pushy. She couldn’t take«no» for an answer and kept pushing outfits I expressly rejected. I told her I didn’t think one of the outfits she picked out looked right on me given my body shape. She flat out told me I was wrong. You never tell a customer that he/she is «wrong.» You can respectfully disagree, but don’t make customers feel like they are«wrong». I came away with only one item. I would have purchased more items, but her pushiness and arrogance really turned me off. I don’t think she intended it that way, but sales staff needs to cultivate more awareness and sensitivity when dealing with customers. At those prices they charge, they ought to be more respectful and courteous.

Since I hate shopping, I try to squeeze it in during work so I don’t have to waste my spare time doing it. Tango is a nice little boutique in Brooklyn Heights close to my job and they have a good selection of Tory, DVF and other brands. Most of the staff have been very helpful and kind and have brought me items that I ended up really liking once I tried them on. I bought a number of items during sales around the holidays, and I am hoping that they continue to have lots of sales since the regular priced items are a bit expensive. I will be coming back again to refresh my spring wardrobe for sure.

This is a cute boutique with plenty of good brands like Tory Burch, Theory, Three Dots, Vince, and Elie Tahari. They carry a lot of basics such as tshirts and also some jewelry and shoes. Their prices are on the high side though, even that which was«on sale.» I thought it was pretty tacky that they follow you so closely and that they were trying to sell goods that were clearly damaged such as a sweater with obvious snags in several places. Brooklyn is full of cute shops with more unique brands — personally I don’t think I’d shop here next time I’m in NYC — you can get these brands in better selections and prices at Barneys or Bloomingdales.

I really like this store, they have a great selection, nice balance of work and play. I always visit when I am in town staying with my in-laws, and I always end up buying something. Truly, they have a good buyer. They might even get 5 stars, certainly 4. The 3 stars is for the sales associate who looked at me and pulled a size of jeans 2 or 3 sizes up from what I was wearing. Note to that salesperson; always guess down a size or two, it’s about egos:), you pretty much lost me immediately, and then, when you didn’t have the size that I told you I was wearing, you suggested up just one size. Yeah, not your best move. The whole experience there today made me feel like perhaps the economy is rough and they need sales, in the past I’ve felt like they simply wanted to help. I’ll try them again, and would recommend them to friends.

The service vacillates between openly snotty and totally indifferent. I’ve bought several pairs of jeans here because it’s close and they have a decent selection, but I refuse to give them anymore of my money, especially now that there’s a Barney’s on Atlantic.

I swung by here with a girlfriend. I will not be coming back. This place definitely has the upscale long tables, pricey goods, and few but non-helpful staff thing going on. I’d been wanting a Le Pliage bag for a while, and asked the woman if they had a different size in the same color. She merely pointed from afar to this smaller bag on the shelf and made no attempt to actually walk over and show me. Pathetic. Even worse was the fact that my friend was in the market for a blazer and found two that she really liked there. No one approached us to help, but the same blonde saleswoman came over to inform us that they were closing. Isn’t the mark of a good business helping customers and hopefully making a sale? Fine, close your doors; I will not be buying anything from here again.

Cute store, I pop in on most weekends to see what they have. They carry Iisli, J Brand, Generra, DVF, Theory, Tibi, Miguelina, and beautiful belts by Linea Pelle. Lots of Hue, Spanx, and Calvin Klein tights at all times and pretty umbrellas too. I got my Mackage coat and many a dress there.

I like Tango. They have Brooklyn yuppie style down pat, which is good for me, since I need to look like a lawyer during the week. They carry Theory, Max Mara, Diane VonFurstenburg, Tory Burch, Ella Moss, Splendid, all the usual denim suspects, etc. They are a good source for shoes, and an excellent spot for nylons/tights. Basically, if you want to dress like a stylish adult who’s a bit more on the conservative side, this is the spot for you. The prices are high, although you will find the same items at Bloomies or Saks for more $$ than what Tango will be charging. They price better than ShopBop, too, but I’m not sure how that math works out with shipping and the NYC tax. As for the sales people, I must admit that I like only Elba, and I only really buy anything when she is there. She is very honest about whether or not something I’ve tried on looks okay or fits like crap, and I appreciate that, since you don’t want buyers remorse on a $ 400 dress.

Tango’s window displays are always so attractive, I love popping in here on the weekends and on my way home from work. Tango has a very well edited collection of labels, including Tory Burch, DVF, Theory, Milly, Kooba and Botkier. They have tons of denim, and at any given time, some of it is on sale. When they have sales, they’re usually deeply discounted and a good assortment of merchandise and sizes. My only complaint about this place is that the sales people can be very, very pushy. They’re always asking you if you need help, want to try something on, etc., which I understand some people like, but I really don’t enjoy. So it can be frustrating at times. But overall, a great neighborhood shopping experience. Love to support the small businesses!
