Seen this cart for a long while, but was never motivated enough to give it a try. In general I am not a fan of food carts; my question is always ‘do they have a sink’ – ‘are they handling money & food at the same time’ and ‘where is their bathroom if they work here all night’?. Next, I don’t have a good command of Spanish(except for ‘Manos Arribas! =raise your hands) so I’m not inclined to decipher the menu. I definitely don’t want to eat cow’s tongue. But at long last I can state that I have finally given this particular cart a try, I played it safe and chose the cheeseburger and I can report no health issues emerged from said burger. It was decent, solid, tasty. Made with appropriate care and attention. I can’t say whether I will be trying anything else there but I found the cart cheerfully run and thronged with a loyal crowd. I appreciate the fact that this cart stays open long after other competitors have closed up, shut down, or gone home. Prices here are excellent, just as reported by other reviewers. You can’t beat these kind of bargains at the end of the evening when all your pocket money has gone to booze. All in all I endorse this operation. Eat here with confidence. p. s. thankfully there was no outdoor TV(or I didn’t notice it). If there had been, I might not have brought them my business. What is it with you weirdos who need to watch TV every possible waking moment? Christ almighty, get a soul willya? Just sayin’

Not bad little spot located on the corner of 60th street and 4th avenue. Never tried anything except the empanadas. With so much brick and mortar mexican food spots in the neighborhood really just ok. One thing about this food cart it shows up late and leaves early in the a.m. and is not subject to health department inspection like other food establishments, so i really dont trust em. The empanadas are ok a little greasy but just alright, my usual 24 hour spot doesnt make empanadas.

Lazy and dying for a chicken pastelito! Okay didn’t feel like venturing to 5th Avenue to the cuchifrito house, and these peeps were open and had a lil line. I saw two types of pastelitos, they had chicken and cheese. I settled for 1 of each. Okay the chicken was shredded chicken breast with Sazon and tomato sauce cooked down slowly. They dont use goya discos, they use Rico brand empanada discos which are very good. The initial bite was great, but upon completion of the two pastelitos, my stomach started to pain and had me doubled over. Oh no! This food gave the bubblies! I won’t go to them again, but the wife is nice, doesn’t speak much English but I see them doing a brisk business at night. The husband isn’t bad either he seems very pleasant as well. Sorry I won’t return to them. :-(

I usually order the beef taco with all the fix-ins including the salsa verde. Their meat is very flavorful and well seasoned. I know for sure that they have chicken, beef and lengua(which translates to tongue) I guess next time I’ll try the lengua. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten anything with tongue, I’m not too sure??? Tacos are $ 2.50 each. They have other items as well. Also, one day I saw the lady making a torta. I tried ordering one for my sister the other day but they didn’t have. I asked the guy for a torta, he said taco. I was like no, torta, and he said taco again, and something about no torta. If I was fluent in spanish, I would have asked him why or how would I get that??? Their schedule varies. I think they’re out maybe 6 days out of the week. Their time varies as well but they usually come out at night, smart move when most of the restaurants are closed and people are hungry.

If you’re getting off the 59th street N late and drunk this is the best and closest mobile taco stop for you. I believe they close cart at dawn. Their food is really good and they are justifiably popular in the hood. They also have outdoor TV while you wait which means they get an extra star from me for a total of six stars. Rudimentary Spanish is helpful when ordering.

Service with a smile. I believe the guy who owns this cart is a former medical assistant who worked at Lutheran. He manages the production of some fabulously authentic chicken and steak tacos. He also makes something that’s fried in a little pocket with pork(forgot the name) and rolls of deep fried queso fresco covered in cilantro lettuces and the best green guacamole infused sauce. The red sauce is also good and spicy if you’re jonesing for that. My friend had been living in the area for months and here I rolled in with my Unilocal help and found this cart and now she’s obsessed. Really I’ve been to mexico and this is pretty close to goodness. Plus its cheap at $ 2 a taco and 6 for $ 5 queso fresco. They also have little fried pita looking filled with cheese or chicken that’s a kiddo fan favorite. IOh and they’re open from 4:30 to 6am!

These tacos are amazing! I walk down here for tacos, wrap them up in foil, pay 6 dollars for my three tacos(more than enough to fill me up) stop off for some corona on the way home and its a great snack at 1:00 am, or any type of meal after 4:00 pm on a sunny day, as they start around 4 and dont think they come out if its raining. But they dont have to! They have people lined up at all times when the sun is out or on a nice night. Everyone who likes tacos needs to try these. Im from California so Im super picky but even I give this place 4 stars!!! P. s. put some green sauce on those tacos.

Come here for the chicken taco, if you have any respect for man’s foul best friend. Always uniformly orange from the marinade that imparts both great smell and delicious flavor, the friendly staff overstuff each taco for $ 2.50, and have many condiments– hot sauce and cream, all delicious– available to adorn your meat, cilanto and onion pillow. The ground beef empanadas are crispy pillows of happiness, so make sure to get one of those to go.

It’s just a wee taco cart on 4th near 60th Street, where the farmers’ market appears on summer Saturdays. Is this the seed from which may grow a Red-Hook style spread of awesome Central American food carts? Will Anthony Bourdain someday eat lunch on the corner where junkies used to shoot cops? Okay, I admit my enthusiasm runs a bit high. But the enchilada tacos are damn good, and the chorizo tacos rock my mouth. All the fixins’ are super fresh — and as far as I know, freshness is the secret. Maybe you’re a better judge. I asked the grill cook if she makes her own green hot sauce. She said yes, but said it vaguely as if she wasn’t quite sure what I was asking. Well, whoever makes it makes one great green sauce — hot, yeah somewhat hot, but mostly aromatic and springtime fresh. $ 2 per taco. What do you call the deep-fried meat-filled dumpling-looking thingies? Whatever you call them, they come with chicken of beef. The chicken ones($ 1) are terrific. Tonight I’ll try the beef. The fry cook makes them right there — stuffs them, pinches them shut with a fork, fries them. He makes them continually, not all at once, so the ones I bought were still crispy and piping hot. Very tasty. Lots of fresh-cut fruit, one-dollar sodas. They usually have a small cluster of customers, including local families who seem to share my hopes for their business. I wish I spoke Spanish, but they warmed up to me pretty quick when I began complimenting everything. Convenient as you get off the N train after work.
