I drive past this place everyday and never even knew that it existed. However, this place kept popping up in the search of Unilocal.(that’s how I became aware of it) So I finally stopped by. First thing to note, everything is made fresh at the location. Everything looked and smelled great. Anyway, I read previous reviews on Unilocal before actually stopping by about the sweet potato pound cake, unfortunately they didn’t have any made at the time of day I went. So I got a red velvet cupcake and my friend got a chocolate cup cake. It was very good. I highly recommend them, my reason for the 3 stars is that they are highly overpriced. I did return to the location weeks later to try the sweet potato pound cake and yes it’s very good and I must say it’s almost worth the price. Overall if you have a sweet tooth I recommend this place, but don’t go broke trying to satisfy your sweet craving. Also the mini cupcakes aren’t worth it. I prefer sweet potato pound cake over anything else in this place.

Nice little treasure nestled in Brooklyn. Owner is a GREAT guy very nice and funny. The sweet tea was sweet enough but not diabetes sweet, I had the Louisiana crunch cake fresh out of the oven and man I’ll never forget how fluffy, soft, and tasty it was. Wish nothing but success for him.

It may be a small place, but the cupcakes and cakes here are sooo good. And you cannot beat the prices either. To make it even better the owner is soooooooooo nice! I’m glad its so close to me.

Sweet Lee’s Desserts is the place to go! I stopped by this evening after work and had the pleasure of chatting with owner, Raymond Williams and sampling his cakes. First, you gotta know I’m a cake snob. Many people claim to be good at baking but I am often left unimpressed. What I can appreciate about this place is the quality of the desserts matches the down home customer service and warm atmosphere. Ray greeted every customer with a smile and made you feel like family. He let new customers sample his creations to tantalize their taste buds along with the smell of a fresh buttermilk pound cake baking in the shop. It felt like home. It felt like being at my grandmother’s house and the taste was nostalgic. That’s what you want as a business owner. I watched people stream in, some new, some old but all satisfied. My personal favorites: Chocolate Cake, Louisiana Crunch, Carrot Cake(and I don’t even like carrot cake) and that buttermilk pound(Lord Jesus). The red velvet cake is good as well and doesn’t have that nasty food coloring taste that can be present in their competitor’s cakes. All of the cakes are airy, not too sweet and made will fresh ingredients and BUTTER rather than oil as some folks do. He even has a large pumpkin sitting behind the counter to make his signature pumpkin creations. No wonder the rapper Fabolous was there last month for a slice of his signature sweet potato pound cake! I really dig the place and wish Ray Williams all the success in the world. This guy has a Masters Degree and has held some prestigious careers but took his retirement and opened his own business. How can you not respect that coupled with cakes that speak love languages to your taste buds. Do yourself a favor and throw out your scale and get you some cake!

AMAZING is the best way to describe my experience with this new bakery that’s around the corner from my home. Absolutely love everything there, but the sweet potato pound cake, never knew such thing existed, is simply divine. Not only will you love the desserts but the customer service is top rate. The cashier, a well mannered, friendly young man, always makes suggestions and will let you sample. Most times when I go to satisfy my cravings(not literally), the owner is often in the back baking or keeping the place clean and tidy. I often find myself in friendly conversations with him, and on more than one occasion he has allowed me to come in for my «fix» well past closing time. Let’s support this establishment because it stands out for more than just its great desserts. Let’s fraternize and reward businesses that value their customers.

We had just finished dinner with a hankering for something sweet, and we happened to swing by Lee’s on the way home. It was about 20 minutes past closing, but Lee invited us in anyway. 5 stars right away for a solid move like that. Excellent customer service wins me over every time. The cakes were solid, as well. Very tasty, very obviously homemade(all made right there on premises). What a great find. Will definitely be back.

This place is a gem. They have great COLDBREWED ice coffee :-). And the owner & staff is so friendly and open to suggestions to make sure the customers are totally happy. When I first stopped in they only had a fairly small size ice coffee, I mentioned Wishing they had a larger size he said he would make that happen the NEXTDAY I walk in And he had LARGE ice coffee cups now that is excellent customer service. Friendly staff and great coffee it’s a win for me.(ooo and the baked goods look amazing and they will make custom gluten free cupcakes & cakes if requested).

If I could give this place more stars!!! I would! The cakes are amazing. They’re light and tasty– not overly sweet. The cookies and brownies are not to be missed either! The owner is such a gentleman and so pleasant. I definitely recommend this place for all your sweet tooth cravings!

I love this cute little bake shop. The owner is a wonderful person who is passionate about his product. There is a little southern flare to the cupcakes and cakes here, it’s not just your average bakery. The cold brew ice coffee is delicious as well. If I wasn’t trying to lose a few pounds I would come here more often!

I love this bakery!!! Their red velvet cake whoopie pie is serious, if you don’t like delicious food then maybe you shouldn’t come here. Don’t even get me started on the sweet potato pound cake. Stop reading and go there. No really.

First off let me just say, I’m born and raised in Bed Stuy and I love that this place has opened shop. It’s a black owned business so I like to support my people when I can. The owner is SONICE ! He’s friendly and always says«I appreciate you coming in» every single time no matter how often I come. The place is clean and cute and has little benches outside and places to sit inside. The cashier is a sweet young boy, always polite and helpful. Now to the goodies YOUMUSTTRYTHESWEETPOTATOPOUNDCAKE It will change your life… seriously

LOVEIT! I’m actually writing this review as I scarf down my cupcakes and drink my coffee! Anyways, first thing first– it’s cute and it’s clean! They have little benches outside and also a few seats inside looking out the window! Perfect. Bed-Stuy needs this! Second, the customer service is great. The owner is doing the baking on site(I saw him cracking eggs) so that’s how you know these baked goods are FRESH(I’ll get to that in a minute). He is also very nice as is the cashier. The cashier offered me a sample of the sweet potato pound cake and advised me as to what were the favorites! Now, I save the best point for last– the red velvet cupcakes are TODIEFOR. I just got done eating mine. The cake was moist and the cream cheese icing, HEAVENLY. I. seriously. can’t. right. now. I also got the chocolate cupcake with vanilla icing which was also very good and fresh! The sweet potato pound cake that they let me try was also, interestingly enough, wonderful! I normally don’t like sweet potatoes but this reminded me of a pumpkin pie flavor which I love! And, the coffee is good too! Definitely give this a try! Support your local businesses. You won’t be disappointed. (I would suggest that the owner list other things like coffee, tea, bakery, baked goods, etc. in the Unilocal description. When I searched«coffee» in my area it did not come up in the search results because it is only listed under«desserts»)

I live in the area so when I saw this cute like bake shop I just had to give it a try. The Owner works in the shop and was super friendly we chatted for a bit and he gave us a free sample of the Sweet Potato pound cake. It was amazing!!! and let me say as a baker myself I know good fresh baked goods when I taste them and this is it! I honestly didn’t know what to expect from Sweet potato cake but it was super moist and sweet but not to sweet. We got the Red Velvet and Chocolate with Vanilla icing cupcakes. I had to stop eating my cupcake to write this review that Cream cheese icing is soft, smooth and delicious. the cake is moist and melts in your mouth! We will most definitely be back and everyone should give this place a try. Good customer service and amazing treats! Oh by the way they do accept cards!
