Spring is an exhibition space in the DUMBO district where it promotes design and art through curated shows. They work on four principal shows a year, they work with guest artists, designers, and curators to create and offer interesting exhibits. A cute little gallery, you can peruse the art pieces and even purchase them. Items such as masks, ceramic ‘spoons,’ scarves, sculptures, books, paintings, and even accessories are some of their selections. You can also purchase these art pieces online via their website. A cool place to check out if you’re in the area. +exhibition space in the DUMBO district

As a Christmas present, my boss was kind enough to give me a gift card to this store(how much money, you ask? Eh, rather not say…). I had never been there, so when I went there to take a peek, turned out their style/aesthetic is right up my alley! Hadn’t had the opportunity to use the card until a couple months after, and I guess they were kind of expecting me seeing as I was the only person to receive this gift card during the holiday season. Regardless, they were extremely nice, helpful, and knowledgeable, and let me take my time deciding on what I wanted. While a lot of their items are decorative, I was trying to go for functional/practical as well, and ended up getting a few items that I was very happy with. Still have some money left over from the card, definitely have to head over there again soon to see their latest additions to the store/gallery!

Every time I head out to DUMBO, I make a stop at Spring. Their products are always changing and they are sure to carry something that you never knew you always wanted. Where else can you find a stool made out of egg crates, ambiguous bolsters by Richard Saja, spoons made out of plates and lamps made out of zip ties?

It great place to shop for unique, fun and beautiful gifts. The owners are super nice and very helpful. Since they change up the shop so often its always great to stop by and see what they have on view and the new products. Its a fun shop to introduce to people to.

I had the pleasure of being a summer intern at Spring a few years ago and absolutely loved the experience! The gallery owners are always full of great ideas and never stop thinking about how to make the gallery more innovative. Spring hosts great parties and never sells anything that’s not unique. This gallery is an important part of DUMBO’s art scene — I highly recommend visitors to stop by if you’re in the neighborhood.

An awesome collision of cutting edge artist design, intelligent humor, and unpretentious retail. Sure, some of the items here will bust your budget, but there are also more affordable items that won’t. And there are loads of gifts here that will definitely blow the mind of your super cool recipient who is otherwise impossible to please. And the store owners are friendly, laid-back, and more than willing to tell you more about any item in which you are interested. One of the«must stop» gallery/shops in DUMBO, we will definitely be heading back there again.

Spring is an unusual art gallery, and design store. They put on interesting art/design shows, with local artists as well as from abroad. The design shop in front carries unique objects with a conceptual edge. I have a blind painter friend, with amazing taste, that just about bought up the whole store the first time he went to Spring. They also have a great«Holiday Gift» show every year with lots of affordable fun and interesting things for everyone on your list.

This hybrid gallery & storefront carries an amazing collection of items — most of which I had previously only seen in art/design magazines/blogs.(Think MoMA design store, but with more cutting-edge design and art multiples, plus a healthy dose of British humor.) I stumbled into their shop on a lazy Saturday afternoon and spent an hour+ just perusing all of their findings. The owners/curators have chosen everything thoughtfully and cohesively, and were very friendly and helpful as I narrowed down my purchases. I finally picked the grandfather clock(which literally came off their wall and into my apt), but could’ve easily brought half of their inventory home with me! I will definitely be a frequent visitor, to their shows and also just to see what’s new! This store is a must-visit if you’re in DUMBO! ps — foodies should check out the«news» section of their website — enjoy!
