I recently had several pieces of furniture refinished by this company. You will find other reviews of their work on this site. I want to add that the attention and work completed by them was OUTSTANDING!!! We are so happy with the end product and the service and attention provided by Ruben was outstanding. Old European service and quality was unbelievable. I would highly recommend them and feel confident in doing so. They are the best kept secret in the industry. Ruben is great and when I need more pieces refinished or reupholstered I will always contact him and this company.

Our dining room table broke and I gave them a call after reading a few reviews online and Unilocal.The same day they were able to come by and fixed the table entirely. They explained everything beforehand and showed me all of the work they did repairing and strengthening the table. Extremely professional and neat work and we were thrilled they were able to get it fixed up so quickly and for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend them. While I hope to not need their repair services any time soon, I would call them first.

We have used Special Furniture Services to repair a dining room table as well as refinishing 8 dining room chairs and 2 nightstands. All pieces came back to our house looking better than new when delivered from the manufacturer. Ruben completed all of the work within the timeframes that he had promised and he was always very careful to describe what needed to be done for each peace. We highly recommend Special Furniture Services and already have more pieces in mind for refinishing and repair.

This company was very professional. I had a table that one of my cats scratched up and they refinished it. It looked like new when they were done. They finished the table when they said that would and they delivered it on the date that they said they would. Very reputable company.

Very Impressed by this company! From start to finish, Ruben pretty much new exactly what we wanted and how to do it. Really a great feeling to find a business that is so good at its trade. After they refinished our bedroom set, we got so many compliments from other trademasters as to how good of a job Special Furniture Services did. Highly recommend using them!

I used Ruben and Special Furniture Services originally to restore night tables. I wasn’t aware at the time that they also repair glass. I had them remove and replace mirrored drawers. The work and the delivery time were truly excellent. I was so thrilled with their work that I had them shampoo my couch and carpets. The results were phenomenal. I recommended them to my friends who have also used their services and were very happy.
They’re reliable, courteous, honest and very competitively priced.
I highly reccomend them for any work you may have.

I am the sole benefactor for the restoration project of the Rectory at Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church in Staten Island NY.
I have furnished the entire Rectory with collections from Ethan Allen. During the restoration process mishaps occurred and that’s when I was referred to Ruben from Special Furniture Services.
Wow! Ruben is young, however, extremely knowledgeable about his artisenal craft and the restoration process, courteous and professional.
Deep gauges were seemlessly filled in. Table tops were polished and treated so that water beads and easily wiped before damage could occur.
Leather on chairs cleaned up and some touch ups.
I have used Ruben’s services a few times. The best part was that Ruben and his staff leaves your establishment in better condition than when they entered. Excellent work!

Tried this company out using a living social deal. I live in a small apartment so they were in and out quick… maybe a little too quick. They screwed up my appointment twice, which was frustrating. What aggravated me the most is they charged an extra 25 $ for an «apartment fee». This was not listed on the living social deal and they said you can try to get your money back from living social. As far as the cleaning… it was very basic, nothing special. I could’ve rented a steam cleaner from the local supermarket and done the same, if not better job. The guy didn’t even move a small empty wine rack to clean under it. Overall nothing special and I wouldn’t go out of my way to use them again! I would say if you have some kind of deal and want a basic cleaning then use them, other than that, pick someone else!
