Sew Brooklyn

I found Sew Brooklyn on Unilocal during my vacation from California. I needed my dreads re-​twisted badly, I figured it was a long shot because I wasn’t sure the services that I’d hoped for were offered, but I walked in anyway. I was immediately greeted by the friendly receptionist from there I told her what i was looking for and gladly I was accommodated.
I was then seated and during that time I looked around and took in the atmosphere of the salon, one word; Amazing. The back wall tile features a beautifully scripted Sew Brooklyn logo placed behind comfortable stations, there are wooden floors that add a nice touch as well and did I mention complimentary wine or champagne? WIN.
After a few moments I was greeted by the salon’s owner, Shawanda, whom took it upon herself to make sure I left with what I had in mind. She first washed my hair, low key it was the best I’ve ever had, I was already sold. She then carefully twisted my hair to perfection, sat me under the dryer, 45 minutes later, the most perfect outcome I could have imagined. I was more than satisfied, and the best part about it was the price was very reasonable. I wanted to pay more because the atmosphere was one that I had never seen before, that says a lot because I live in Southern California!

From the time I walked in the door I was impressed. The customer service was awesome and the people were very hospitable. Of course my hair looks amazing too!

No one else is allowed to touch my hair but Shawanda. I have been coming to her for years and I travel all the way from Mount Vernon Faithfully every Saturday. Her new assistant Johnathan does wonders with my washes and conditions. I usually do this steam treatment and is very relaxing especially for my skin. Also another important thing to mention is that she cuts precisely how I tell her to. Some stylists get scissor happy and cut way too much of your hair but Shawanda really listens to what I want and I change up pretty often.
Jaleesa the receptionist is very professional and always brings me my glass of wine as soon as I walk in Yes I have wine at 10 am don’t judge me! I’m very proud of her new salon, the inside is very beautifully put together. I love the white brick walls and gray wood floors. And the styling stations are cool tool drawers, such a creative idea. I’m one of the few people with natural hair with a short cut and I am never disappointed when I come although this is an extension lounge. So any one is welcome. The pictures speak for themselves. Sew Brooklyn is Mos def the place every Brooklyn Chic wants to be. Although «ALL» are welcome! The atmosphere alone will catch yah eye. When you sit in Shawanda’s chair you are garanteed pure satisfaction. Her work is amazing. Their is no other like her. She is dat chic… oh SEW BROOKLYN! My stylist is DOPE! My first day visiting her new salon was awesome, I tell you I didn’t want to leave. So if you need a hair service of any sort, this is the spot, come get your hair did at SEW BROOKLYN. This place is Sew Brooklyn. Shawanda is sew professional and is a master at her craft. I’m sew happy to have her as my sew master. I found her by accident and that’s the best accident that has ever happened to me.

Had an awesome experience at this new salon opening in Brooklyn. The place is amazing and really feels like Brooklyn. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my hair, but the stylist Shawanda gave some good ideas. I needed a new look and that’s what she delivered. Everyone loved it. It’s been a few days since I had it styled and the curls still remain! That never happens! lol I will be back again!

I brought my wife here during their soft opening. The place was gorgeous, the receptionist at the front was very welcoming and the owner/​stylist Shawanda, was amazing. When I returned to pick up my wife she looked so stunning. She will def be returning and I won’t mind dropping her off!
