One of the best hot dogs and yuca fries I ever had! It is very inexpensive I came here with a date and I had a hotdog con todo with avocado with and fries and my date had the perrocarne with everything with yuca fries all for 18.00. The good thing about the yuca fries that I had issue with other places is that it doesn’t have any stems, which I appreciated it. I did not like that the bartender was a bit rude, but he was technically part of actual bar and not part of the crew who made the food. I would definitely come back here in a heart beat. Amazing food, crew and inexpensive. What more can you ask for

I had the chorizo sandwich from smorgasburg for $ 10 and it was very tasty and loved the green sauce that came with it. I will try the food truck once I’m in Williamsburg again next time! Simple and authentic.

Excellent Venezuelan dogs! Could seriously eat here everyday if I had the choice. My girlfriend is from Venezuela and has assured me that this is the real deal. We usually grab a few perros con todo and share some tequenos. Definitely DONOTFORGETTHETEQUENOS. To enhance the overall experience, the dudes running the joint are super rad and friendly.

Came here on a Monday night, bartender Erik was the absolute best. The place was slow but my drink was great and the customer service was the best I’ve had in New York. I’ll be back for sure!

Tried this at Smorgasburg but I’m sure it’s the same quality as the actual place. What is that quality, you may ask? Effin amazing quality. I told my friend that the burger was the reason I am on this planet. Eating that burger was my life purpose. I will definitely go to their actual location soon.

The rundown: 1. If you want venezuelan food WALKTOTHEBACK, DONOTWALKUPTOTHEBAR. 2. Its really welcoming… the staff are all so sweet even the bartender who really is this awesome hardcore rock guy is a sweetheart! 3. The hot dog that I got the so called(venezuelan hot dog) «con todo» was differnet. Its like nothing you have ever tasted. 4. THERES A GUYFROMVENEZUELACOOKING! HOWAWESOMEISTHAT? 5. The hot dog«con todo» comes with 100% kosher beef topped w/onions, cabbage, crushed potato chips, cheddar cheese, ketchup, mustard & santa salsa and ofocurse add the bacon! BECAUSEBACONISAMAZING! 6. They also give you a tray of seasoned fries for like three dollars more ! So a hot dog with all that, a coke and fries will be about ten dollars. SO worth it. The only reason Its not five stars is because it was different and not exactly to my palletes liking but good, i definitley would go back and explore the menu. Really nice staff and place to hang out. 7. The restraunt has there own little dark seating area with like skateboard type chairs, or you can sit outside, if not that you are welcome to sit at the bar.

The pepito was quite the formidable sammie. There was a lot going on, particularly as I got the mixed chicken and beef with added avocado on the advice of the dude taking my order. The bread it comes on is a solid mix of crunch and fluff. Protip: There’s a sauce carousel holder thing. Find it and mix and match sauces as you eat. The sweet corn one in particular is unique and interesting.

Absolutely incredible and authentic Venezuelan style food. I’ve tried tequeños, hot dogs and hamburgers and they taste exactly the same as if you get them on Venezuela. Excellent service and great location.

Nasty staffer in back where you order and in front* where they direct you back there, but not nasty enough to knock the superb $ 4** perro con todo*** down from a 5. *Located in the back of Over the Eight Bar **Cash only… forgot what the $ 5 Village Voice special entailed. ***This all-beef frank comes topped with the crème de la crème of fraternity food: Crushed potato chips, onions, cabbage, and shredded cheddar cheese give this dog nice texture; condiments like ketchup, mayo, mustard, and a sweet-corn-based salsa add good contrasting flavor. «For those who love their hot dog with an ocean view, Santa Salsa also operates a cart at the Rockaway Beach boardwalk during the summer.»

Awesome, flavor packed, hearty veggie burger and yummy seasoned fries. Definitely one of the better veggie burgers around NYC. I recommend asking for the hot sauce and the parsley/cilantro sauce. I’m looking forward to trying to veggie dog as well.

My wife, from Caracas, and I went had Santa Salsa last Summer out at the Rockaways and were super happy to hear that they opened up shop in Brooklyn! Sadly there are only a few authentic Venezuelan places to eat in NYC, but Santa Salsa is amazing. My wife loved it and thought the sauces were amazing. If you like burgers or hot dogs Eat here. You won’t be disappointed! We had the: Perro Con Todo — awesome authentic Venezuelan hot dog La Especial — amazing sloppy Venezuelan burger with tons of toppings — potato chips, american cheese, ketchup, mustard, santa salsa, a fried egg, a slice of fried ham and avocado

Best Venezuelan street food around. Not that I know much about it! But loved it. Order«the platter» — serves two to three, depending how hungry, big serving of fries, with steak and/or chicken. Add Yuka for an extra dollar. Comes with hearty sauces and delicious salsa type stuff called guasacaca — much chimi churi but DONT call it that or they’ll be offended! It’s different they say! But whatever you do, order extra of it! Shit is like crack. Lastly — tell your friends about the place– they’ve done a bad job at adding themselves to google search, maps, being affiliated with the bar they’re located in(Over the Eight — kinda early nineties bar with an EMO vibe). Try your best to find it online and you will honestly struggle. These guys don’t know how to market themselves, but hot dang! They make good Venezuelan street food.

This wasn’t quite what I expected. But I’d return and try the hot dogs(which appear more popular) instead. Things I wish I’d known before I arrived: 1. Located inside a bar(near the back), and cash only. But cheap! 2. Generously portioned sandwiches: I had trouble finishing it. The flavors were really solid and unique, but they got lost in the hefty French bread rolls that didn’t seem to match the food style or content inside. 3. Spicy sauce is spicy. Not much to say about it except that they are not messing around. 4. Maybe this was just an off day, but the Yuca fries were a bit too dry for my taste. Regular fries were nicely seasoned and tasted great with the chimichurri sauce. 5. All in all, worth trying but not necessarily going out of your way to get there. 4 – 4.5 stars for being unique bar food, but on its own, it’s A-OK.

The best Venezuelan street food is clearly the arepa. It’s served overstuffed, with a half-pound of cheese or oodles of might oozing out of the corn wrappers. Opening a «Venezuelan Street Food» place with no arepas is like entering a title fight two weight classes too high — it’s possible, yet ill-advised. Since the bulk of the menu is centered around the hot dog, I suppose the nearest like-minded peer to this restaurant is actually Crif Dog as opposed to Arepa. On that front, it falls a bit short. The perro con todo is great drunk food(smartly this place is located in the back of a bar) but it’s a simple kind of pleasure. Served with cheddar, onions, chips, cabbage and a secret sauce, it’s a protein-fat bomb that works by sheer force of caloric will. You might as well go for the fries, which double the price and the general food intake. They aren’t as fancy as the thin cuts or rosemary-topped ones elsewhere in the neighborhood, but they nicely with any beer on the menu. Order extra ketchup in advance because the one measly cup won’t make it through all of these yellow fried strings. There’s nothing particularly special or unique about the Venezuelan hot dog; there are at least half a dozen countries in South America that do something very similar with this All-American treat. But at Santa Salsa, they haven’t forgotten what made this dish so popular on the streets to begin with.

I have to say that I was intrigued when I read about this place in a Venezuelan newspaper. I give it a try. It was like going back home, but instead of going to the food truck the delivery guy brought those famous hot dogs. The food is great and very tasty. A few things that needs to be improved. Have drinks for delivery like soda’s etc. Pay attention to the online orders two times when I ordered thru seamless I add comments about what needs to be removed like cheese or onion and comes like they never read my comments.

If you are venezuelan and you are reading this: COMETOSANTASALSANOW! You will feel like its 3am and you are having a perro con todo in Las Mercedes. Now, if you are not venezuelan im going to tell you what my american bf thought about this: I feel like I have been deprived my whole life of this food and I cant go back to having a regular hot dog! So honestly, you have to come here and try it!

I heard about Santa Salsa because I was searching for the«best hot dog in NYC» and I was surprised to that it was Venezuelan. I went on a Saturday, the food was amazing and the dance party was pretty tight. I came again today for brunch and it was pretty solid, a lot of interesting variations on classic breakfast items(the gluten free corn pancakes are great!) I also recommend the burger, fried egg, ham and avocado. You can’t go wrong!
