Bad costumer service, hefty prices, plus tax and sometimes the wings or tiny or corn starch isn’t mixed in properly for your chicken and broccoli … Really got bad over the years

I ordered 4 wings and shrimp fried rice and asked for garlic sauce on the RICE. Keep in mind that this was in person, not over the phone, where they can say that they didn’t hear me or whatever. I get my food. There’s no garlic sauce. I bring it back. The guy gives me a tub of garlic sauce. I sit down to eat and realize there’s no shrimp in my food. I bring it BACK. They give me my food and the wings are drowning in sauce. WTF. I wanted crispy wings, not wings swimming in sauce. The food tastes good and fresh, but listen when people order so you don’t have to keep redoing orders.

If you’re looking for a tasty, cheap Chinese takeout place in Park Slope, Ruby Kitchen has you covered. I’ve come here for practically every dish on their combination platter list for the past year, and each time I’ve been left satisfied. They do a great job with their boneless spare ribs, beef and broccoli, and teriyaki chicken on a stick, and their generous portions are good value for the price(a full meal and drink for only $ 7-$ 8). The staff are efficient and friendly, and some of the hardest working people I know. Best bang for the buck!

Food is made fresh & to order. On request they will steam the food for you and put sauce on the side if you want a healthier alternative. The people who work here are nice. The prices are low. I mean what else can you ask for?

For basic, reasonably priced, take out Chinese food, this is the place. It isn’t fancy but it is very clean and you always know exactly what you are getting. I order from here all the time and they get to my door in 20 minutes. They have been around forever and the quality of the food has never gone down.

I just moved to Atlantic and South Portland, literally 3 street blocks away from them. For some reason they refuse to deliver to this area, even though it’s a pretty well to do area. However, they have no problem delivering much further away south. I believe they’re discriminatory, and are excluding this block as there are other mixed apartment buildings nearby. This restaurant should be boycotted until they clarify their delivery policy. They claim«no reason» whatsoever.

Clean, tasty, eat in or take out Chinese Food. Ate here for the first time yesterday for a healthy lunch after the gym. The shrimp and broccoli lunch special was my choice. Great choice. Broccoli was crispy as requested, light on the sauce and teeming with sweet, lil baby shrimp. My brown rice was properly steamed and minus that crunchy, under doneness that happens to a lot of brown rice. With a can of ginger ale my lunch was under $ 7. Going back to sample Ruby’s other lunch specials.

Ahhhh Chinese food… You know it’s probably killing you but you can’t stop eating it. I’m pretty addicted to broccoli and garlic sauce with brown rice(my sorry attempt at making a healthier choice smh). N that’s actually an order that varies greatly from restaurant to restaurant and they make it GREAT here. Broccoli is always crunchy, sauce is flavorful but not overpowering and the rice is always cooked well(I’ve certainly had some crunchy ass bad brown rice)

When I moved from Manhattan to Brooklyn a year and a half ago, I tried to order from a whole variety of Chinese Food restaurants via seamless web — each weirder than the next. Apparently no «nice» Chinese restaurants in Brooklyn know how to make normal lo mein, Chicken and broccoli, etc. Thank GOODNESS for Ruby Kitchen. Prices are right. Food is exactly what you hope for when you get Chinese takeout(flavorful, not too greasy, just right). Guys at the counter are sweet. Highly recommended!

What can you say … it’s the go to spot when you want really bad food that no one should be eating. Broccoli in garlic sauce, a veggie egg roll, chicken and broccoli… or even the bourbon chicken can be had on a day I feel i can cheat.

I only eat the Lunch special since it is such a good deal compared to the rest of the area. The food is average. But what more can you ask for besides cheap food, that fills you up.

We love Rubys. I’m not sure what other have ordered but I’m always satisfied with my order. My boyfriend likes their fried chicken, it’s a bit too deep fried for me but he likes it. I like their beef and broccoli with garlic sauce. According to my taste buds, they have enough of a robust flavor. Rubys is always our«IDK what’s for dinner» takeout. It also helps when you’re starving because they’re their in 10 minutes. Absolute magic.

When I used to live in Park Slope, I used to come here all the time for Chinese take out. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are large! My boyfriend and I can share one dish and we would be full for dinner. Everything that I’ve had from the menu tastes good but some of the dishes do begin to taste similar after a while.

For cheap carryout Chinese food, this place does well. The counter people are very nice and the price is right. It’s become my go-to in the neighborhood.

I mean, sure, it’s fairly clear that what you’ve order is «Chinese food». It has all the ingredients you’d come to expect from a Chinese restaurant, and the flavor hinted at the dishes you’d come to expect from a Chinese restaurant, but I must say — it was OHSOBLAND. I could’ve made something with a more robust flavor. Also, they score absolutely zero points for appearances. They are however very inexpensive and fairly quick in both preparation and delivery. I’ll come again, but after I exhaust my other options nearby.

My go-to Chinese place. Of course, it helps that I live across the street, but the food is YUMMY! Not as greasy as the vast majority of quickie Chinese places I’ve been too, and the veggies are always nice and crisp. My personal recommendations: Beef with Broccoli, Cashew Chicken, egg rolls, egg drop soup. Specials are cheap! Entrée, rice, and egg roll, about $ 8! Oh, and I always do pick up — call about 10 min before hand and it’ll be ready.

Ruby is better than many full service Chinese restaurants in the area. The counter people are friendly, and the restaurant is open until midnight and located right near two subway stops. The food is not overly greasy, but the seafood is definitely frozen and(in the case of most of the shellfish except shrimp) fake/pollack + red food coloring. Standard dishes, including a pleasant wonton soup and spicy hunan chicken, hit all the right marks; just don’t order anything fancy. Also, the delivery takes an excessively long time(45 mins-hour), and the pick-up could move more quickly than it does. Cash only.
