No no no. This place is expensive and the service is awful. It took 2.5 hours for an expensive brunch with rude servers. Never again. Came with a group of 3 other girls and took over 30 minutes to get seated. Which would have been fine if the hostess had been polite and let us know there was a wait. Instead, she continued to ignore us, while half the tables were not in use. We asked for water from the bar while we were waiting, which took an additional 15 minutes for the bartender to simply move one of the pre poured bottles of water and cups in front of us. Once seated, we put in our drink and food orders right away, and then waited for another 25 minutes for our bloody marys to arrive. And of course, the waitress forgot one of our drinks. She could have at that point been apologetic and just offered to put in another order, but she refused to take blame, saying«oh it’s just busy today at the bar.» We then waited an additional 15 minutes for the fourth drink to appear, having to ask the waitress about it a second time before it arrived. We arrived at 1pm and it took almost an hour and a half to get a drink in our hands. The food took another 20 minutes beyond that, and the waitress never returned to ask if we needed anything. The result was one of our party borrowing condiments from another meal to help her dry eggs. My food was actually great, but cost $ 32 dollars with tip added for a sandwich, fries and one bloody mary. There are plenty of places in Brooklyn that get busy, but the servers are friendly, the hostess at least acknowledges you within 15 minutes of walking in, and the bloody mary’s are not $ 12 a piece.

Cozy up with a hot lemon ginger tea on cold winter days. During the summer, check out the mini courtyard in the back.

Meh… I wouldn’t say it was amazing but it wasn’t the worst either… If I could I would give it 3 ½. The service was great, and the location is a stable of the neighborhood. Parking was easy to find, and we were seated right away… The food though… Lacked yumminess. The beets and eggs with crunchy potatoes was underwhelming. The potatoes were not crunchy because they were under the fried egg along with the beets which actually made them pink and soggy. The salmon from the salmon plater was good, however the way it was cut was a little awkward. The apple pancake was good, nothing crazy… but good. The whipped cream came as just cream because it was melted under the heating lamps from sitting in the kitchen. I don’t know if I would go back…:/

Haven’t been to Robeling in a while since prices rose a bit, as is the case with most of the area, however, we came here for a quick bite to hide out from the rain and OHHOLYHELL. I should’ve just waited it out under an awning. $ 4 for 1⁄3 of a baguette? $ 5 for a cup of coffee? Did I stumble into an airport? Let’s say you did pay market price for that baguette(which I wholeheartedly doubt), a 1⁄3 should still only cost me $ 2, at most! At $ 4 per 1÷3− you value the whole thing at $ 12. Sure. And before you say, «Oh but it comes with jam and butter!» — It didn’t. We had ordered it along with our meal without looking for it on the menu(our second mistake after walking in) and didn’t realize it came with so when it arrived sans jam, we didn’t notice. Really wished I could’ve tried this jam — it must be quite a treat to cost so damn much. P. S. the same tartine at Balthazar in soho is bigger and less $. What pains me most is that customers in the area as of late don’t even blink at this kind of bullshit. These are not reasonable prices. I don’t care what your coffee is made of or how long you waited for it to drip out — $ 5 is insane. Even at Blue Bottle Coffee, where coffee pretension reigns high, a reg. cup of coffee costs well below. I don’t blame the staff, they were great. The food is good but come on — it’s fairly typical. Actually, I can’t think of any coffee and baguette anywhere that would be worth $ 9 in total.

Worst service every time without fail, given more than 5 chances to this place, never will I go back for anything except a drink.

Came here for brunch with my boyfriend. The ambience is super cute and I’d definitely come back for drinks or tea and to try dinner. I had the biscuits with gravy. It was good but the biscuit was too dense and heavy, which kind of ruined the whole dish for me. I also added an egg to the meal as it was a bit too small on its own. He got the cheddar bacon waffles and also got two eggs along with it! Those were great but it was a little bit lack luster. More of a cheddar flavor was needed to the waffles and I wish bacon flavor could have been immersed into the waffle instead of just on top.

Cocktails are great. Service is great. Food was delicious. The only thing I would say is the music was a little loud but it was good music.

I love this place! The ricotta and fig paste is an absolute killer. I must have had it all three times I went there for brunch. The restaurant itself is located in a trendy area of Brooklyn. The outside does not look like a brunch place at all, but once inside the place is perfect. A must try, whether you are on vaca or living permanently in NY!

Came here on Sunday for brunch around 2pm, and was seated without a wait. Orders were taken promptly by our friendly server. It took at least 30 minutes between us ordering and us getting our food. From what I could see the place was only half full when we ordered. I had no idea why it took so long to get out orders out, and no one came over to give us an update, or tell us what was going on. The food itself was just ok. We had the beets and eggs and the salmon Benedict. The beets were overcooked, and lacked full flavor(also they only used golden beets, which are a lot less flavorful to begin with). The Benedict was ok, but the eggs were very yellow — I doubt these were from happy cage free chickens(but I have no evidence of that of course). Also their fresh OJ tasted a little stale. So overall, very average. It’s a shame really, I have fond memories of past brunches here, but it seems to have gone downhill since then. The space is still wonderful though in terms of looks and ambiance.

I had a great dinner here! The place is huge, with a dreamy, candle lit ambiance and service was spot on. The salmon tartare was really great; I wasn’t sure what to expect with the pomegranate and apple(I have a problem with fruit, clearly), but it ended up working well. The avocado toasts and mushroom toasts are also delicious. My favorite appetizer were the blowfish tails. I’ve never had blowfish before and I really enjoyed it. They have a mild flavor, and the light sauce they came in was good enough to sop up with our leftover bread. For my entrée I ordered the raviolo in brodo. Raviolo is just one giant ravioli, and this one was full of mushroom and ricotta. Very nice. The tagliatelle with braised duck, as well as the pappardelle with mushroom special were also delicious.

The moment i stepped in, things got really weird. like really weird — even awkward. Beautiful night. I believe it was friday night — i walk in, the first thing bartender asked me was, «and youre not supposed to be here right?» or something to that extent. …and immediately i was thrown off guard — do you not want me here? ordered a beer, chugged and waited for my friend to arrive. friend arrives. we decide to sit in their cute little backyard area. Aforementioned, beautiful night. we both order burgers — i ordered a delicious real burger, and she ordered a veggie burger. both were satisfying, the server seemed annoyed by us. I think im figuring out the attitude of this place. ugh.

Only stopped in for a quick drink while I was killing time, but it’s a pretty cool space and wouldn’t mind checking it out again. Walked by so many times and never went in, despite that the building and its sign always intrigued me. The place is gigantic and has so much room. It has a very cool vibe, sort of nice but casual and laid back. Sat at the bar, which itself is pretty impressive. I didn’t much like the hibiscus iced tea that I had(too watered down). But I got a glimpse of some of the food that came out and it looked pretty good. Seems like a cool place to stop in for a relaxing lunch.

I swear I’ve passed by RTR about 300x and always thought, «one day I’ll go in» and never did. Well, I finally did on a Thursday afternoon on a day off when I needed to kill some time. The place is huge! The bar is huge and there’s seating all around. There are tables hugging the walls, a large table for communal seating(could probably seat 15 or so), and then there’s the patio. The outside of the place was so unassuming that I had no idea there was so much going on! Didn’t have any of the food, just drinks. Had a Bloody Mary because it was noon somewhere. It was good, but not great. Also tried their hibiscus iced teas, which was premade in a giant cooler, and also kind of bland. So that was meh. Bartender was nice though. All the food that came out smelled amazing, so I’d definitely come back to RTR for brunch or dinner. The cheeseburger in particular looked great.

I’m going to be real real here: forever brunch. I am dedicated to the brunch life. I have experienced the full gamut from bottomless mimosas to hole in the wall wonders to the bourgeois brandishing of wrapped-up-crap-as-something-wonderful-when-you-know-darn-well-it’s-still-crap-and-who-wants-to-eat-that, and this was somehow one of the least pleasant times I have spent paying homage to the brunch gods. The gods of brunch were actually ashamed and would not agree that this should have been classified as brunch, but I am more forgiving than them. At one our group of six arrived, and were seated quickly, which was perhaps to trick us into believing we would be out of Roebling in a timely manner. We were there three hours. This was outrageous. Didn’t even get checked on to order a sweet sweet weekend beverage for a half hour. Our food took over an hour to come out. If this place was busy(which at that given time it wasn’t) or there was a cook that had critically injured their upper limbs and were forced to create with their legs(which, to the best of my knowledge, there also was not), I would understand and be completely forgiving. But, the fact of the brunch at hand is, it was a busted brunch. Our waitress was nice, and I do not believe is was her fault, but come onnnnn three hours? We weren’t even drinking to pass the very slow minutes as they ticked by, and were forced to talk to each other. When you leave a brunch after that long all of your previous plans have to be cancelled, because it is nearly five! The food was good when it did finally surface, but the time it took was a deal breaker for me. Spending three hours at forever brunch makes me not anxious at all to go back. Thanks Roebs.

Nom nom nom Beautiful, perfectly restored, but not over restored tea room/eatery in Williamsburg. The moment you walk in you’ll see how well they’ve turned this building’s interior into a little gem. The large bar itself is majestic. Clearly made with care. The main room houses a large table and many smaller tables. It’s a large space where a party could be held. We sat in one of the reclaimed back rooms, which was open to the small patio at the back. Even that space was very pleasant and we did get the best table. I had steel oats with berry and purée which was surprisingly tasty considering I was going for health. My companion had eggs, bacon, thick rye toast and some really fresh butter. We were both happy campers. Fresh press coffee was legit and the staff was very responsive and chipper enough for a Sunday AM meal. Absolutely go here.

This is a great Williamsburg favorite, and has a great layout and ambiance. There’s a huge community table, a spacious and fun bar and a beautiful patio. It’s not as centrally located as other Williamsburg restaurants and there aren’t enough vegan options for my tastes but overall it’s a great place. I’d recommend it for more intimate quiet dinners or large groups around the communal table.

Long delayed review. I came here for a low key brunch with my bf. Love the ambiance, very rustic, cute, and welcoming. We ordered the big baked pancake and the baked cheddar eggs with grits and fennel toast with apple butter. I don’t know if I could have handled eating the entire baked pancake, so I’m glad that we got two different items and shared! We also got an order of the orange blossom tea(what with«tea» being in the name of the restaurant and all) and it smelled amazing, so fragrant and lush. Definitely recommend the tea! It also came with a big portion, one order was enough for the two of us. Recommended for a casual brunch where you won’t have to expect much of a wait.

One of the finest bars in Williamsburg, not just because of the service, or the quality of food, or the great atmosphere, but because you do not feel that you are in WB. You feel taken care of in a way that takes you from the main drag, it takes to to this weird place were you have fun, and you make merry, and you don’t feel like you are putting your time into a place designed for it. I can’t recommend this place hard enough: be friendly, be decent, make merry, have fun.

I really wanted to love this place. Upon walking in, I immediately loved the atmosphere. High ceilings, décor, the seating and charm. Friend and I started off with some wine. It smells… Oddly like old sponge… Hm. We politely told this to our server and she was extremely gracious about it. The food, however, was fairly disappointing. Of the appetizer dishes we ordered, nothing stood out but what did end up a poor lasting impression on us was their steak tartar. Mayo base sauce with capers and chunks of salt? We were waiting on another party and ended up eating dinner elsewhere. Perhaps a brunch some time later down the line to give it another go.
