I’m not going to lie — I didn’t want to cut my son’s hair for the first time. But they made every effort to make us both comfortable and Christina put my mind at ease when she understood that I still wanted him to look like a baby. She gave him a wonderful haircut and I really appreciate the attention we were paid — it was a great experience. AND without my having to ask, they saved a clip of his hair and gave me a certificate to mark the day wrapped up and tied with ribbon! We will definitely be going back there for his second haircut.

My son just got another amazing haircut at Rockin’ Locks. My son loves coming here. He really looks forward to seeing Christina and her wonderful assistant. I look forward to his haircuts too! We went through a couple of years of dodgy inconsistent haircuts at all the «usual» kids salons in Brooklyn that are like conveyer belts. The «Stylists» rushing through the haircut and not listening — Sometimes it felt that they didn’t even like kids or cutting kids hair. I can not say enough great things about these two wonderful ladies at Rockin’ Locks. They are just absolutely amazing. They are so natural, genuine and so good with kids. Christina takes her time and we get so many compliments on his hair. Her haircut lasts and grows out evenly. I am so happy that my husband accidently stumbled across this salon in Williamsburg and picked up a flyer for me. Everyone should be getting their kids hair cut here.

We took our 2 year old son for his first official haircut today. We have been unsuccessful at previous hair salons and barber shops at keeping our son from crying and flailing out of our arms long enough for a cut.
After reading all the great reviews, we wanted to bring our son to Christina. Even though he cried and my husband had to hold him for his cut, Christina was able to move with my son and cut his hair. Christina and her assistant were wonderful with him. They distracted him with toys, videos, bubbles and kept very calm during the whole process. We will definitely be bringing our son to them again!!!

My 3 ½ year old son got his first haircut today and we had the best experience! The environment was beyond child friendly and the customer service surpassed my expectations. I was extremely nervous and emotional about cutting my son’s hair (he had gorgeous curly hair past his shoulders) but it was definitely time for a change. Christina was completely understanding and listened to all my concerns. She cut his hair EXACTLY how I imagined and my son had a blast playing with toys, blowing bubbles and watching Curious George while she did so. Will definitely be coming back!

We have gone to Rockin’ Locks since they had opened. Christina does a great job with both my boys (4.5 and 3 yrs old). The boys’ hair looks great and they love getting their haircuts. They love touching all the toys, and I like that they can patiently wait for their turn. The space is great and Christina is very efficient at doing her job with squirming kids in her chairs.

What an awesome salon!!! Christina has been cutting my sons hair for 4 years and now we come to Brooklyn from the UES! She is beyond talented, reliable and a cool spot to visit. You will love it and the kids will have a blast.

Returned to Christina for a follow up cut. After having such a positive and amazing experience the first time, I felt like she earned my trust to where I gave her creative freedom to cut and style my little boy’s hair as she sees fit (with only a request to go edgier than before). And she truly did even a better job when I just let her do what she knows best. I just can’t stop raving about his cut. My boy put up a pretty big fight this time around but she truly pulls through with her tricks of the trade and patient perseverance. After he he calmed down from his cut, we felt so comfortable to hang around so I could feed my little guy lunch and let him play with the toys before I had to strap him in for a long car ride (because we drove the distance just to get to Christina. She’s that worth it). Her lovely assistant even made a mean cup of coffee for me to enjoy! Thank You Ladies!

We have a 15 month old Toddler who doesn’t want to sit still, cries bloody murder while flailing his body all over the place through his haircuts. Our first 2 experiences at another «kid salon» was traumatic and stressful. It doesn’t help that our boy has difficult hair which is hard to style. So on top of a toddler who doesn’t like to cooperate, his hair cuts were pretty bad and lifeless… Until we met Christina.
Christina is a genius with kids and haircuts. She didn’t force my son into the cute taxi cab barber chair but let my clingy boy get acclimated to the environment. This immediately put everyone at ease. Once my son believed it was just playtime, he was more receptive to having someone touch his hair. Christina understood the style I wanted and she worked surreptitiously around my moving boy to get the job done. Her wonderful assistant also did a phenomenal job keeping my son entertained with bubbles, cars, spin tops and other cool toys. The entire cut took place as my son walked around and played. I was amazed at how effortless Christina worked.
The cut she gave my son looked AMAZING! She was able to add shape and texture to his hair that actually made him look even cuter than before. I can see how his new cut will be so easy to manage and will grow out really nicely. Just the experience alone was worth every penny, but to leave with a very stylish haircut makes Christina indispensable.
At the end of the experience, everyone was happy and my son finally agreed to sit in the taxi cab for a picture and take his yellow balloon as a gift. I was elated and on cloud nine all day from such a fun experience. I no longer have to dread his haircuts or go through anxiety before each cut wondering how worse off his hair will end up.
Even if you don’t live in Brooklyn, it’s absolutely worth the drive or train ride to Williamsburg to have Christina cut your child’s hair. Your child will leave in such good spirit that they might even sit through an entire brunch at one of the many cute restaurants in the area like my son actually did.
If style and having a good experience is important, than its worth the distance to travel to get to Rockin’ Locks.

Took my 2 year old son for his first haircut yesterday and Christina made what could have been a very difficult experience into a very positive one. My son wasn’t cooperating and Christina cut his hair quickly while I held him. They used bubbles, cars, lollipops, and an episode of Curious George to make him happy. I’m thrilled with the haircut and will definitely be back!

Christina gave my son his first haircut more than 6 years ago, when he was 2. And she’s been the only one to cut his hair since.
We’ve been her client from when she was at a salon in the city, through her time doing home visits, to now with her own space in Brooklyn. My son may have been Christina’s first official customer in Brooklyn, in fact (I think that’s true).
Fantastic all around. A+. Wouldn’t think of going anywhere else for our son’s haircuts.

Christina was awesome with our overly active toddler! She did a great job on his hair and really helped correct a bad haircut he had months ago. She listened to what we were looking for and did exactly what we wanted and even explained why the style works best because of his hair! We are definitely going back for sure! Luke loved the car, balloon and of course Frozen. Awesome experience and Christina is fabulous with little guys! We’ll keep making the trek from Greenpoint for this one!

Christina was amazing with my daughter! Would highly recommend for kids haircut. Your child will sit in fun taxi cab, watch a great kids movie and even play with some great goodies.
