Where do I begin? The Décor was a good idea but terrible execution. The only reason I gave them one star was because the food came out fast. When I sat down we immediately noticed the prices were $ 20 on average per plate. If you hit the Brooklyn brunch scene that is at the top of the budget. I should have known something was wrong when I got here on a Sunday and there were several tables available. I’ve had better French Toast for $ 8 at local diners. The chicken was so large it didn’t look appetizing and it wasn’t. The Sweet Potato pancakes could pass for plain pancakes. Then they have the nerve to be cash only, has no one here ever heard of Square??? If you are thinking about eating here there is one word I can give you for advise. Don’t.

We came here after an intense 2 hour workout and soooo glad that we chose this place. When we walked in we had to wait a little bit but they brought us water(much appreciative). Food came out quickly and our waiter Benny was the best. I will definitely return one day. Cash only was a bummer but at least they provided us with an ATM machine in the restaurant.

The service by Benny was lovely and the grits were delish. The 70s soundtrack was a nice bonus

I gave Pink Tea Cup 2 stars only because it gave me diarrhea for 5 hours. The food was great but the service was«ahh». My sister asked for water and gave her fruit punch and charged us for it! At this place you can only pay with cash! This sucks but luckily my family had cash on them. They like to charge extra for little things like instead of a whole chicken leg, you have to pay 3 extra dollars to just get wings. Also I paid 3 extra dollars for Mac and cheese even though they said I get two sides with my order.

Went for brunch today, expected the place to be jammed packed, nope it was empty, except for one table. Waitress was friendly and helpful, a bit overbearing, toooo many how are you doing? Are you ok? for an empty restaurant. Food came quickly, I ordered the waffles with fried chicken, looked like they fried a roasting chicken — the chicken leg was tremendous. Unfortunately the chicken thigh was not cut nicely or cleanly like my mother use to say, it’s still had the back attached to it and all the grizzly parts that go with the back I could not eat it. It looks very good on your plate tremendous amount of food. The crust on the chicken was good but the chicken was not tender. The waffles were OK. I’m surprised that they don’t realize that everyone does not eat pork and if we take off the pork bacon we should be able to substitute the turkey sausage but we were charged for the turkey sausage as a side. Hint they don’t do refills but the ice tea is so sweet you can add water and make several glasses. The no card policy also is not very accommodating. I see why the restaurant two blocks down headline going outside for brunch and this one was completely empty it is sad I had great expectations I remember them from Manhattan in the village; I will not be returning.

Been here twice for Brunch. The place is intimate(small) and accepts cash only. The gratuity is automatically added to the bill and I almost over tipped both times(review your bill carefully). First visit April 2015 I had the catfish and grits. Food was good but salty. Yesterday Brunch experience food was good and SALTY: Grits-SALTY. Collard greens– SALTY Potato salad– SALTY My mom and I had quite a few glasses of water as a result of the salty food. Chicken and Waffles dinner entrée: dark meat only and no side for $ 25.00 Fried Shrimp and grits brunch entrée: 4 heavily breaded shrimp for $ 21.00 Fried Catfish dinner entrée: sides were generous portions compared to the two pieces of catfish Chef please reduce the amount of SALT used when preparing/cooking the dishes and consider adding a couple of more shrimp to the entrée!!!

The drinks and food are a little over priced. Food is good, but not great, coupled with the pricing not really worth it. Had 3 mimosas, spent $ 30, and didn’t not feel anything at all. Left very unhappy about that. I had the shrimp and waffles, tasted a little better than average. Mac and Cheese was pretty bomb though. But ultimately left the restaurant feeling kinda sub-par.

I’ve been here 2x so far and I must say I was pleased both times thus far. Once for brunch and once for dinner… everything was seasoned so well. They’re 5 cheese Mac is great. Good portion sizes and prices are good to. My only issue personally is the fact that they added 20% gratuity to a 2 person bill. Most places do parties of 5 or more. So I was a Little surprised by that. But all in all my experience was a good one. Would definitely visit again

The portion I received for the $ 25.00 dollar Holy Trinity shrimp and grits was laughable at best. It was served on an appetizer plate with four(yes 4) shrimp and a small scoop of grits. To make matters worse the waitress told me it’s always been that size and prices have recently gone up! After eating the 4 shrimp and grits I was completely underwhelmed and still hungry. I won’t be back, I don’t patronize places that completely take advantage of customers’ pockets while negating the importance of their bellies!!!

Came here for lunch yesterday and ordered the fried chicken, yams, and collard greens. The chicken was alittle too salty for me and the yams were really sweet. My friend had the catfish, which she loved and the same sides. Inside is small but cozy. I had the passion fruit drink which was real nice. Can’t remember the drink my friend had but she didn’t like hers. Over all I can’t see myself rushing to come back. Didn’t leave a great impact on me. Oh yea… I got Mac n cheese to go for my son. He ate it but for me it was a mess– too salty and overbearingly cheesy but not in a good way.

First things first, pink tea cup is literally a hole in the wall located in the fort Greene/Clinton hill section of Brooklyn. You literally walk in and wonder how did they make a bar into a restaurant. Lol. But to my review. We went to this spot to celebrate my brother in laws birthday on a Sunday afternoon. There was 12 of us and were well aware there was a possibility that there would be a wait of some sort. My sister in law called over to the pink tea at 12:15pm to see if they could accommodate our party and they stated that they could. Arriving at 1pm we were told that another party was ending and we could be seated in half an hour. The half an hour passed and the party hadn’t end which was fine. It’s probably difficult to gauge when a party is going to end and folks are having a great time laughing it up after a meal. However, the hostess or whoever tells our party that a 30 member party also booked and they would need to split our group up. They never mentioned this originally when we called and we weren’t made aware of this other big group until an hour after we got there. After some politicking we were able to get seated together. I originally wanted to try their chicken and waffles since I read that they were pretty good. Unfortunately I do not necessarily like dark meat and pink tea cup does not provide for white meat as a substitution although they are more than willing to provide 3 wings for an extra $ 3 which I thought was a total bummer. So I actually had to scour the menu and decided on trying their French toast with scrambled eggs and turkey sausage. My wife decided to take the plunge with the waffle and 3 wings. The food was pretty good. Considering it was a frustrating start to our day I had to admit that the food had flavor. The wings, although fried tasted like they were seasoned. The French toast was soft and crisp at the same time. I think the only thing I was disappointed in was my drink which was a peach sunrise which tasted more like sparkling water. Service wise it was just ok. What stood out was the fact that my wife ordered a fruit punch at the beginning of our meal. The fruit punch never made it to our table until we were ready for our bill. I proceeded to have the server take it back. No need for it now that my wife already decided to drink water. Would I go back? Only if I were in the area. Should you try them? Yes, of course. Just make sure you keep the group smaller than 6.

Was hungry one night and chose this place on a whim. Came here with my SO. I did hear of the Pink Tea Cup in the village, never knew there was one located in BRooklyn. Inside is dimly lit. It reminds me of an old school restaurant. There’s nothing really fancy about it, but that’s ok with me. The two times I have gone, it’s was kinda empty. The young girl who makes the drinks says it’s really crowded on Saturdays and Sundays for brunch(I can only imagine). The staff is very friendly and professional. The food is pretty good. The first time, I had the fried shrimp dinner. All the dinner entrees comes with two sides of your choice. The shrimp entrée comes with four pieces of fried shrimp and I chose the potato salad and the five cheese macaroni for my sides(If I recall correctly, there’s a price difference for it). While my SO had the smothered pork-chops dinner with collard greens and yams. The reason I gave this place 4 stars is because their selection of alcohol is small. I have more of selection at my house at my bar than they do here. The drinks that they do offer Is strong.(if you read this please restock the gin) The lemonade is GREAT!(you should give it a try) Anyway, I will continue to eat here. And I feel everyone should at least try it once. I saw a couple of reviews on here, with people complaining about the pricing. It’s pretty much average for the type of food they serve and compared to other restaurants in the area. Just give it a try !(unless you want a specific drink and they don’t carry the alcohol for it)… SB: the collard greens, the potato salad and the yams are superb

We went here for dinner. The place was outdated and overpriced. We had been here once before for brunch and it was just okay. We heard their dinner was better so we decided to try it. The staff was very nice. We had our 10 month old with us and they were accommodating. Pros: chicken and waffles was good. Shrimp and grits for brunch was good. Staff was nice. Cons: menu was not thought out– basically only chicken wings for appetizer and one salad– the salad is a shrimp salad and was way too spicy. I love spicy food but it was virtually inedible. The food was way overpriced– $ 5-$ 8 more than it should be, and if you wanted to change anything on the menu, they charge you extra. $ 25 for chicken and waffles with no sides is absurd. Grossly overpriced. The drink menu is virtually only geared for women. The only thing my husband could get was a beer. And the drinks were way overpriced too.

Don’t you hate when your friend comes back and tells you that they had a terrible time at restaurant that you recommended… Well guess that’s how my aunt felt. It was her idea to come here for my uncle’s birthday. She raved of their potato salad, salmon preparation and cocktail selection. She lured me in because they serve chicken and waffles(something that I am unofficial connoisseur for lol). I was completely underwhelmed to say the least. My chicken & waffles were delivered sad-looking and begged me to put them out of their misery of which I did oblige because they were completely overpriced. I have had better southern food at buffets in Harlem for a quarter of the price. Everything was salty instead of flavorful. Let’s not forget the service. We waited to be seated when many tables were available, probably on wait staff. Our server lost the grasp of the English language by the end of the meal probably around the time that he realized that his 18% gratuity was secured by the size of our party. Maybe I came on a bad day but definitely not willing to return and pay ridiculous prices in order to confirm this!

Writing this review as promised and it’s definitely a well deserved one. One of my friends and I came here for the first time a week ago with brunch in mind. We arrived around 2pm not knowing there was a mix up with the hours on google.. Google says they open at 1pm but I believe Tuesday-Thursday they don’t open until 4pm so basically we were wayyy too early lol. The place hadn’t even opened yet but Anna, our waitress was nice enough to let us stay and eat. Aside from a few things being unavailable on the menu(due to the fact that they were still preparing to open), we still had pretty good options to choose from. I ordered the catfish with yams and collard greens. I would have liked if it were fried a tad bit longer but that’s just my personal preference, the fish itself was great. A lot of flavor and served nice and hot which I loved. Kudos to the chef ! The drinks were reallyyyy good as well. First, I ordered the ginger cosmo I believe. Strong & fruity just how I like it.. then I ordered the purple haze which was good also. Worth the money.. Anna mentioned a few ideas she had for new drinks so definitely look out for that guys. My only critique would be for them to update their hours on google or any other website that has their info, just so this mistake wouldn’t happen again. Besides that I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who loves great soul food.. atmosphere, service, it was all on point. I’ll be back soon.

I’m came to the Pink Tea Cup after learning that they’re one of the selected caterers for the Brooklyn Marriott. Designed with an ecclectic mix of dining chairs and motifs, the décor is warm and welcoming. I had to try their chicken and waffle(it’s brunch) with a twist on their waffle batters(+$ 1). I opted for butter pecan – it was tasty but I can’t recall if it tasted nutty. I did notice that chef switched my chicken order of dark meat and swapped out my thigh for a wing because he felt the chicken leg was too big. I like wings too but if I order dark meat, don’t feel so free to substitute. Manny, our waiter, took note and generously offered us two comp’d mimosa. What a gem! and the chicken and waffle was still good. I definitely want to come back and try the holy trinity shrimp and Grand Marnier french toast which came heavily recommended by Manny. Note: They’re CASHONLY business however, there’s an onsite ATM machine for your convenience which charges $ 2 per transaction.

This place is amazing! Very cute and cozy! My mom and I went after church for Sunday brunch and was greeted at the door. Seated immediately and enjoyed the sounds of gospel music which is so rare and refreshing to enjoy a meal after church with family and listening to gospel music. Anywho I ordered the eggs turkey sausage and grits all of which were amazing! My mom ordered the salmon croquettes and grits OMG it may not look too appetizing at first but once u take a piece of that croquette you won’t even care. The salmon just tastes so good. We were greeted by the owner Lawrence and we expressed our delight in the food and he sent out a complimentary HolyTrinity Shrimp and rice which was not on the menu yet! That was sooooo delicious. They have the shrimp and grits on the menu and I would totally suggest u try it! We had the sweet tea which is a bit on the sweeter side but still enjoyable and we also had mimosas. My mom had the flavored one I jus had mine straight. I would opt out of the fruit flavors but everyone is different Overall I had a great experience! My mom has been there about 3 times and I def will become a frequent eater here myself!

A+ brunch. They have a great variety of mimosas, and the brunch menu is fantastic– everything sounded amazing. I had the fried shrimp with grits, and also tried some of my boyfriend’s chicken and waffles and wow… he gets chicken & waffles for brunch everywhere we go and these were easily the best I’ve had tried so far! The prices are a bit high but it’s definitely somewhere I’ll check out again.
