I am a Cuban-American so please believe me when I tell you that Park Avenue Luncheonette’s yuca is second to none. Everything else is great there too and hella cheap. I just wished they stayed open later. Breakfast and lunch is not enough!

I don’t know whether I should feel hurt, or tickled with amusement at the fact that they gave Notorious B.I.G.‘s doppelgänger the Princess Plate today.

We ate brunch here because the wait at Enid’s was almost an hour, and this place seemed perfectly good. Which it was. Your typical brunch fare with a twist: poached eggs with pureed spinach, surprisingly good, good omelets, and pretty yummy brioche french toast with rosemary butter(the best part). The orange juice is fresh squeezed and particularly tasty. It’s been Park Luncheonette since 1965, but someone gave it a thorough-going refresher recently because it’s now more yuppie haven than classic diner. They have some great old signs, though. I wouldn’t go here specially, but it’s a lovely alternative if your brunch spot of choice is full.
