I miss this spot soooo much! I moved to LA and there is a big lack of Caribbean spots. I would stop by this place at least once a week for their patties, sorrel and on the weekends ackee and saltfish. Words cannot express just how much I truly miss being able to walk over to Natural Blend and be blessed by the warm and friendly faces of this wonderful family. I wish with all my heart that they could open a LA location as their veggie patties are like no other and I really miss their sorrel! Omg I am feeling sad now. I love you all and miss you terribly.

I have been to this place twice in two weeks. Amazing vegetarian/vegan food w/great Caribbean spice and flavor. We tried the«spare ribs» and«curry chicken»; both are REALLYREALLY good, especially the ribs. I am not vegan/vegetarian, but I honestly love their fake meat more than real meat. It just has a nice firmness to it. Also, we love the«fish» patty. It’s amazingly tasty and flavorful. Portion is big at this place. We typically can only finish half of the large plate. Price is reasonable. A lovely find in this neighborhood

I started with the Smoothies then the Pepper Steak then the Patties. I’ve enjoyed everything. Thank you for heathy twist to the stuff I love and can’t eat.

Hands down some of the best vegan food I’ve experienced in New York City. I need to visit more often! Not great for dining in but soooooo worth the trip.

Obsessed with this place! Loved it so much I went back the following day. Wasn’t until I visited Natural Blend that I discovered the Rastafarian Ital dietary principals which are similar to a vegan, macrobiotic diet. Except with WAYMOREFLAVOR. You can imagine that as a vegan, I was thrilled to stumble upon this fabulous Caribbean café filled with like-minded people. It’s a teeny tiny narrow spot where you order at the counter, I only did takeaway though there are a few tables to eat in. The guys working there know their product and are really helpful when it comes to making suggestions for n00bs. I ordered the curried«chicken» with rice and(lentil) peas and steamed veggies plus a «fish» patty, an Irish Mosss drink, and a slice of carrot cake. All vegan. I rarely eat fake meats because they kind of freak me out but the«meats» at Natural Blend are amazing. Tender and flavorful. The chicken curry was delicious and the rice and peas were well flavored. The fish patty was amazing. I kept like looking inside to make sure the«fish» wasn’t real. It tasted just like wonderfully seasoned fish. The Irish Moss is made in house and you can grab that and other pre-bottled specialities like ginger beer etc in a large sliding door cooler. The baked goods are all made in house as well. Moist and delicious. This is my new favorite vegan spot!

Homygod!!! My mouth is in such bliss right now! Got the half and half curry chikn and citrus spare ribs, large and split it with my boyfriend. Perfect size to share! If I had to choose between the two, I would pick the spare ribs, sauteed style. Comes with rice, beans, and cabbage. A vegetarian/vegan paradise. They have juices and smoothies and wheatgrass and bee pollen! Haven’t tried any of those yet though. Good music and really nice people who work here as well. also books on healthy stuff for you to check out.

Whoa. The vegan cassava cone($ 3) is the bomb(and gluten free!). It’s a huge square piece of super chewy and gooey goodness. Not too sweet either! It has a subtle spice of cinnamon… or nutmeg? Who knows… but it was AWESOME. And the sea moss drink($ 4.50) is so good too. This simple combo is a filling lunch believe it or not and you can leave without feeling guilty of what you ate. Will definitely come back to try out another pastry. :) Total: $ 7.50 Satisfication: 100%

First of all they have Sorrel juice. When I lived on the island of St. Kitts I would drink this weekly. The food is always fresh and flavorful. The spare«ribs» and curry«chicken» are my favorite dishes. If you want a light snack, get a vegan patty and a sorrel juice. You will not regret it. One thing is, I wish they made a few more options that didn’t have wheat gluten as the main component.(Lots of veggies instead would be amazing). The customer service and how they pack the food is, simply put, is impeccable. I have also tried many of their baked goods(usually I get one for breakfast the next day), all were delicious.

Natural blend is a juice bar/vegan bakery. They also have vegan food. I’m not a fan of the food. What I do love is their vegan patties Chik, soya fish and jerk tofu The bake breads is done on the premises is so delicious and fresh reminds me of my mother and grandmother baking sweet breads and buns on the weekends. The workers knows me well I’m in there everyday. My fellow vegans give Natural Blend a try you won’t be sorry even non vegans come on a regular basis because it’s sooo good!

Boy, I’m sad that I didn’t discover this place sooner in the neighbourhood. It’s a barebones place, more appropriate for take out probably. I did get the soy chicken patty, and 2 rice dishes. I don’t remember what the 2 rice dishes were, but I did enjoy both of them(one more so than the other). I want to go back and try the rest of their rice dishes. After all the raves for the patties at Natural Blend, I honestly was kind of disappointed when I tasted the soy chicken patty — but maybe it’s just not my taste — plus non-veg jamaican patties are also pretty darn hard to beat in flavour. I will be back.

So excited to discover Natural Blend! I will stop here every time I’m in the area from now on! Jam-packed with food, and signs describing food. I wanted to try everything, but settled on just a cone of perfect cherry-filled vegan ice cream(which, the man at the counter told me, comes from a local Kosher company), and a tasty slice of almond-flavored cake(which, the man at the counter told me, Natural Blend bakes right there). I expected to get charged a huge sum for buying such delicious vegan treats in expensive New York City, but my whole desert feast cost just a couple bucks. Go Natural Blend!

This place is the best. I come here 1 – 2 times a week for lunch and have loved everything. My favorite is the stew or BBQ«ribs» with rice and veggies. All the vegan pastries and bread are excellent too. And like everyone else has said, the patties are delicious. The service is really good as well, friendly and fast.

Came here after a visit to Brooklyn botanical gardens. A large Lo Mein with curried chicken was sufficient for two. The lemon cake was good too. I liked that the food was tasty but not too spicy or greasy.

So, what’s so great about this place? Well, I am glad you asked. It’s kind of expensive(2 meals and 2 drinks ring close to $ 30), but you get what you pay for. The Ginger beer and the Sorrel in the fridge actually tastes like something someone made in-house rather than some factory upstate. The main courses(we had the brown stew«chicken» and the yard-style ital stew) were flavorful and comes in a decent size with veggies, and the ever important rice and peas. Ital stew is notoriously easy to mess up since it’s just root veggies and okra stewed in coconut milk with pimento added, and it’s so easy to overcook everything into an army gym sock mess. In this case, it actually retains the texture well, tastes freshly made, and satisfying to boot. It’s also several blocks from the Brooklyn museum IRT stop so getting there is no trouble at all. This is definitely a gem and a treasure for this neighborhood.

This place is great, all our food was perfect in everyday. First, we both got their signature stew which was hearty, filling, and delicious. A small works for one person. We also tried a veggie empanada type dish which was tasty. To finish it off we got s large organic juice. Friendly staff, prices good and fair. Check it out!!!

Everything’s vegan, and both your taste buds and arteries will be glad you are here. Definitely get the pepper steak, and don’t worry about overloading on fake meat because it comes with veggies and brown rice. The smoothies here are also great, and you can see them shove whole apples into their power juicers.

I found this place because of Unilocal.Beau and I decided to give it a try and as a fellow Jamaican I was pleased to know that a semi vegan restaurant was on the scene. Food: Rice and Peas — Well seasoned — Perfect Taste Curry Chicken — Needs a bit of work. The heavy curry flavor that I love was missing and it was a bit bland. SPICE/SCOTCH BONNETTHATBADBOYUP!(wink) Stew Chicken — Taste okay. Nothing special — I think it should have some spices in it to differentiate the taste from curry. Other than the color of the two, oddly enough they were similar in taste. Citrus Spare Ribs — THEBEST! Tastes very good. It has a sweet taste to it. Very Enjoyable. Steamed Broccoli and Cauliflower was semi crunchy and was seasoned well. Steamed Cabbage was the same. Very delightful to eat. Overall, with the customer service and the food I will give this place a solid 4! Thank you Dave for your kind spirit as I worked through trying to figure out what I wanted while we conducted my 11 min, question and answer on the phone. :-) Bless up to you and the business! * Hazel

The food here is off the charts good — from the breakfast(ackee and salt fish), to the porridge, to the patties, to the smoothies, to the baked goods. It’s all delish! Not sure if I should mention this(because they are my favorite and I don’t want them to be out when I go to get them) but in the interest of educating my Unilocal family, my absolute favorite is the callalloo patty. It is filling and tasty and not too bad calorie wise(approximately 350 calories) as a full meal. The price is also really right at only $ 2.50 per pop! Since the veggie patties are quite popular, you could always call ahead before to see if what you want is available, but even if it isn’t the other patties are just as good. Convenient spot that is perfect for a snack on your way to or from brooklyn botanical gardens, brooklyn museum(saturday night soirée’s) or Brooklyn public library.

I’ve lived in the ‘hood for several years and never thought to stop in this place until today — I should kick myself. The dinner that I just consumed was so incredibly bomb. I can’t believe I’ve been depriving myself of this. Lawd. «Fish» patty = huge, flavorful, flaky, not too dry Citrus«ribs» w/cabbage, rice & peas. = perfect portion, perfectly seasoned, and sooo much healthier than the usual dish — just ONPOINT. The food wasn’t generic like Golden Krust, nor was it slapped together like some of these other carrib spots pushing out dry ol’ plates of rice & peas to make their rent bill — there was some genuine TLC put into this food. Seriously, I can’t do this place justice through this review. I’ve consumed a lot of veg(an) food and this right here, is just ridiculous. I’ll be telling everyone I know — vegetarians, vegans, carnivores, etc. — about it. I’ll be back soon… possibly tomorrow –_–
