Worst place to get nails done. The lady who did my nails was slow, she keep stopping and she dug her nail into my skin on the side of my nail rough where theres a dent to almost bleeding and then tell me it don’t hurt. I asked for fresh short pointy shaped tips. I keep asking her to cut them shorter because I didn’t want them to long and she completely ignored me. When she finished putting on the acrylic none of the nails are the same size. Some are as thin as the nail itself and some are thick. I paid and left with out polishing. I couldn’t sit there any more. I thought I would pamper my self before I got on the train to work but my experience was horrible. I should of known since the day i went the a couple weeks ago and they refuse to fix one nail that I had broken, stating I have to get a full set instead

I went to this salon on Saturday afternoon and got uv gel nails done. She said it supposed to last at least 2 weeks and sometimes three for the most. This is the second time I had that done there and usually my friends that get this same thing done at other places say it last at least two weeks. In two days my the polish was peeling off of three nails. I went in four days after I got them done and nicely asked her want can be done since it only lasted a short time She said it was four days I had them so I have to pay full price. I didnt understand her logic and told her that was not fair. She then started speaking Cantonese and then said she would charge me $ 7 to take it off and $ 7 to put on a new coat totaling $ 18 now I know she knows math cause she handles the cash so I dont know what the extra $ 4 dollars was for. I told her I would take my business elsewhere and left. Never again. Rip off.

At first everyone was very friendly when me and my coworker came in. She wanted a regular manicure and i came in for a filling. it was inexpensive just like any typical nail salon in the neighborhood. One problem was no one seemed to understand any bit of english except for the lady doing my nails, who i believe was named linda and very well seemed to be the owner. My coworker got a terrible manicure. The woman did not file them straight and when we let them know that it wasnt straight if they could file it to be straight, we were brushed off continuously everytime. on top of that the woman did not even paint her nails right watsoever. to me that was just a botched manicure. I think i could have done that manicure better and im no where near skilled at doing nails. so i highly recommend NOT getting a manicure. As for me the lady(Linda) did a nice job. I felt as tho their nail polishes werent really goood because it looked too old on my tips. But nonetheless i brushed that off figured maybe it would look better once they were dry. THEN as she helped me go to the hand fans for me to let my nails dry a finger got a little messed up. As i approached her about it she was looking down at her newspaper and began to ignore me as if i wasnt even there. I said it 5 times n then finally she decided to lift her head up, roll her eyes and YELLATME! Verbatim she said«WHAT I TELL U? I TELL U BECAREFULAND U NOBECAREFUL! «After she said that she looked right back down at her newspaper and ignored me again. I asked her if she could just fix it(which would have took no more than 10 seconds in a salon that had only one other customer that was already being taken care of). But still ignored me after that. At that moment i just looked at my coworker in shock and we just simply left. I WILLNEVEREVERCOMEBACKTOTHISNAILSALON. And i advise anyone to just go somewhere else.

You’ve had them: those days when it feels like the world is conspiring against you and only a quick pampering would make it all better. That’s why I like this little nail salon on Newkirk Plaza. I leave the train station, make a right and plop myself down on one of their pedicure chairs and pick out a bright color for my toes, and even such a little gesture makes me feel better. For the prices that I’m paying, I’m not here for high-end or luxury-spa, and I’m fine with that.
