I have to say the prices at this store are skyrocketing… every new year’s eve we order the sandwiches(for 15 people) with the side platters of macaroni salad, potato. cole slaw and pickles… they have consistently raised the price of this over the past few years. This year was $ 146.00. The potato salad was not that good. We won’t be ordering this again next holiday. They still have other quality foods and we will continue to shop as long as we can afford it, but not as much.

One of their 2 locations on 86st and one of the only supermarkets we have left over in the area. Prices are competitive and they manage to pack in a decent inventory into this tight space. Has a big deli section in the back and a prepared meals section that they deliver through seamless during day time. Best thing is how they always have fresh bread. The entire store smells of it. I really like their cranberry walnut bread and rolls. Big chunks of cranberries and walnuts inside whole wheat bread. Only thing that sucks is the check out process. They do their best to manage the lines, but it’s still super slow, especially when it comes to credit cards.

Super awesome store. Planning on roast my first prime rib tonight. Totally clueless and hopeless in the shop and a man name Michael(I think that’s his name) came to my aide. He is super helpful and super friendly. Not only discounted the meat a bit for me but also taught me a few things! Even took the meat back to the butcher to have it cut and tied for me after I stupidly told the butcher no. 5 stars is just for the super good attitude. Wish every neighborhood store staffs are like that. This is how they keep customers!!! Now I just hope I won’t mess up the prime ribs tonight. LOL~

This is one of the great Italian delis left in Bensonhurst. The meat selection is of far better quality than what you get in the supermarket, the prices are on par or even cheaper as they have plenty of weekly specials. They have a full assortment of jarred Italian goodies like olives and sauces but the real star is the deli section in the back. It is nearly impossible to not load up and spend more than you wanted when confronted with all the delicacies. Potato croquettes(89 cents each), rice balls, macaroni pie, seafood salad, crab cakes, broccoli rabe. The list goes on. They also have a refrigerated section of pre cooked meals, all packaged up and ready to go like Lasagna, spaghetti and clams, meatballs, ziti, chicken parm, soups. These are great to just take home along with a loaf of excellent Italian bread, pop in the microwave and you have a cheap, fast and delicious dinner.

I have been buying my meats here for years. Meats are always fresh, and if you don’t see what you want all you have to do is ask a worker, and they will get what you want. Even special requests are handeled very quickly. They also cater food, which is always fresh.

Someone told me about this place a few years back and she told me this place was expensive… I go in there one day(a few years back) just to get a gallon of milk and it was $ 2.59, while the other grocery store around the block sold it for a buck more. A gallon now cost $ 2.79, but that’s still better than what the other markets sell it for. I go in there every week to get a half gallon of milk for $ 1.49…compared to other stores near my house that sell it for $ 1.99… I have yet to buy any raw meats from there, but I took a browse yesterday and the prices doesn’t seem that bad. I saw they had a slab of ribs for $ 1.99/lb. That’s a good deal!!! Ribs anyone? It also looks like they have a nice selection of cold cuts, but I only get the spiced ham since the place near my house said that Boars Head had charged too much for it.?? Also, right where you order the cold cuts, they have a wide selection of refrigerated prepared foods, so if you don’t feel like cooking, you can buy something and heat it up at home.

The infamout Meat Supreme. I remember going here at first, about 3 yrs ago, and thinking«what is the big deal. okay. butcher meat but you can get that anywhere else». Then the economy started to sink in 2008 and I started to smarten up and divie up my shopping lists between 3 stores, Key Food, Waulbaums & Meat Supreme. Over the past 5 months with buying meats over the three supermarkets, I noticed that when it came to cold cuts and actual butchered meat, Meat Supreme was hands down. Their selection of meats were superb and their actual cuts were very lean, not too much of fat left on(which of course adds weight). Their prices are either comparable or bit more expensive compared to Waulbaums but if you want a good cut, Meat Supreme is the best. Their cold cuts are amazing, I usually buy pastrami and smoked turkey and have never been disappointed. I recommend just buying their meats, frozen ravioli, fresh bread and cold cuts — their canned items are over priced and can get that somewhere else(even the bodegas dont sell those products at those prices). And the best thing — this store is never crowded.
