MCU Park

So much fun. I’d been to MCU Park twice before this weekend, once for a game and again for a concert. But I don’t remember having so much fun. WHAT A GEM. So many giveaways (according to the schedule). So many families and the baseball game was super cute and entertaining. I will be visiting again in the future.

It’s the home of the Brooklyn Cyclones which is the New York Mets team. Please don’t wear a New York Yankee Jersey you will be booed. There is not a bad seat in the entire house. Two parking lots and street parking. There is always a breeze and like any other ball park, the food and beer are expensive. They opened a tiki bar in center field which I will be checking out next time. The stadium is small and very friendly staff. The team store is good, but the bar on the first floor inside is a waste of space. Maybe they should make that into a restaurant now that Peggy’s is gone. Nothing fancy just an American Continental place. It might grab people to come and eat before the game. They do keep the place clean. Come and check out a game but keep your eyes open for bats and balls, we like to keep the injuries down.

My Dad wanted a Cyclones T Shirt. Its hard for me to visit the stadium shop since its only open before games. So finally on Friday before Father’s day I was able to get to the stadium… only to find out that the only way you can visit the store is by buying a ticket to the game??? WTF! Apparently the only way you can access the gift shop is going through the ticket gate, even though there’s a door to the shop accessible from the street.
First, my time coming here was completely wasted. Second, MCU Park must be the only stadium in the world that has such a policy. So this will be my first and last time visiting this place. And they wonder why baseball isnt as popular as it used to be.

We’ve gone to a game every year since the opening. We attend many minor league games in other parks throughout the year. The cost of tickets and food are great. Anywhere you sit in the stadium is a great seat. Great place for a family outing.

Great place every thing is great but its just a shame that this beautiful place is in the ghettos its really bad in coney island, the people who live there are just straight out rude and dirty. Only if that place was gentrified then it will be perfect

#I came here on the shitttiest of nights to watch a Brooklyn Bolts football game. It was super cold, there was a crazy storm, the game was horrible, my legs were sore from shivering and when I pee’d in the urinal, there was steam coming from it. My pee is hot.
Anyway, I give this place 5 stars not because the food is good (it’s regular Nathan’s fare) or because my #pee is so hot… It’s because, the staff there was very helpful, tried to make it the #best football game I’ve ever been to and the food came quick. Even the #guy manning the condiment station was serious about his job. #Kudos!

I have been here for a Cyclones game and it was a great time. I also just went to the Brooklyn Bolts game. This was a great experience. It is a lot colder because its on the water and in October but it is a great place to catch a summer baseball game.

Hubby got tickets to go see a minors baseball game and it was super cute and fun. I hadn’t been to Coney Island since I was a kid and had never been to a minors game let alone to MCU Park. The stadium is small but homey, the way a baseball park should feel compared to the likes of Yankee Stadium that feels more like a shopping mall. Parking was $ 6 if you had tickets to a game and beers were $ 5. After the game, there’s a fireworks show that last about 20 minutes. All in all, great family fun.

12 dollars for a ticket.
3 dollars for a beer at Peggy’s (immediately outside the stadium).
20 dollars per person is all you need for 3 – 4 hours of fun per person.
Buy a general admission ticket and sit anywhere. The games don’t sell out, and they don’t check your seat, so you can sit anywhere.

MCU Park is one of those Brooklyn experiences that often go under the radar despite being a gem of a single A baseball park and a performance venue. I’ll drop a disclaimer that I’m not a huge Brooklyn Cyclones fan, nor am I absolutely crazy about baseball, but I do enjoy a game from time to time. It’s also important to the borough of Brooklyn that this bad boy is standing here now; keep in mind how long it has been since Brooklyn had a baseball team (1957, when the Dodgers left). For the price of $ 14 for a game, you really cannot get more for your money in Brooklyn.
Since the park is just behind the Coney Island beach, you get that nice breeze off the water making evening games or concerts comfortable. I havent went to any daytime shows or games except for the 2014 Mad Decent Block Party, which was, all in all, fairly decent. Ring of Honor does their yearly summer Field of Honor event here, which was especially a blast this time around thanks to the added presence of New Japan stars.
Public transportation makes getting here simple, since the Stilwell Station is the last stop for the D, F, N, Q trains.

The park/​field works. The best way to reach this place is by train to Coney Island. Do not drive! traffic, parking, jay walking, you’ll be majorly frustrated.
The stage was set up right next to the lights monument? and as soon as the sun sets, it is a visual treat.
Security for the #MDBL2015 is varied. No unopened lip balms, drinks (except water), take off your shoes, etc. I had to throw away most things but my friends bag wasn’t even checked. Security at its worst.
The bathroom lines are unforgiving, i recommend using the portables at the field!
Beer any kind $ 9. Nuchas empanada truck 2 for $ 10. Your typical overpriced fare.
Take the TRAIN to Coney Island. DO NOT DRIVE is the take away message.

Great sound and setting. A great time was had by me and many friends today. Solid drinking water access and ample porta potties. A lot of sweat.

There’s really no experience quite like going to a minor league game. Having been to numerous games at MCU Park now, I feel I know it like the back of my hand. Like many minor league stadiums, it really has a family friendly feel to it — small venue with approximately 4,000 seats, many promotional giveaways and never a sold out game so plenty of seating to go around. Although the games are sometimes not the most exciting to watch, the family-​friendly environment makes it very ideal for family day/​night outs because the tickets are inexpensive (compared to MLB games).
The promotions are also great for kids, as there are usually plenty each season, such as jerseys, bobbleheads and misc. other goodies. As for the concessions, they serve your usual burgers, fries and hot dogs, but the one unique thing about MCU Park is that they serve Nathan’s as well! Traveling to the stadium is a breeze as the stadium is a short walk away from the Coney Island-​Stillwell Avenue train station for the D, F, N, Q lines.

Took our daughter to her first baseball game as previous reviews mention that it is a great park for kids. She had a wonderful time. The whole game was geared towards the children. Special guests coming right up to her (mascots and ball players)
Such an intimate feeling that you cannot get at a major league ball park. Prices for tickets, snacks and extras make taking a family out possible. CLEAN!!! Would recommend to anyone that they must go. My only complaint was that the announcer from the rides and/​or games behind the park was so loud it made it difficult to hear some of the announcements but not enough to make me not want to go back.
Anyone interested should check their schedule before going as they have something planned (themes, giveaways, etc.) for most home games.

There’s not many minor league baseball parks like MCU park. Where else can you see the ocean, some great minor league baseball of a local major league team, and such a fan friendly atmosphere? Oh there’s the Staten Island Yankees? Well it’s Staten Island, so you don’t want to travel there.
Welcome to MCU Park. Formally Keyspan Park, but we don’t have to talk about that.
When this placed opened, it was buzzing like crazy. Baseball was back in Brooklyn! Hell a sports franchise was back in Brooklyn. Bout damn time!
The venue is honestly the best minor league baseball stadium I’ve ever seen. It’s extremely fan friendly. They have a great selection of brews. The food does leave a little something to be desired, but you can’t have everything.
Besides baseball they have lots of activities for people to partake in around the grounds. Some Ms. Pac-​Man action. A dunk tank. Radar machine. Lots of fun things for the little ones. And the drunk ones who act like little ones.
The place also holds concerts. At first not a lot of huge acts came here, but most recently I saw Mumford and Sons open up their North American tour here. The security does a good job or managing the lines and crowds of people coming into the stadium. Quick, easy, and painless.
If you live in Brooklyn and want to take the family out to the ball game, but don’t want to head to another borough or break the bank, head out to MCU!

Great baseball, fun and beer.

I am not much of a baseball fan but it’s something about rooting for a local team. MCU Park has a intimate and homey feeling. You can see the field anywhere in the park and on warm days you may get a cool breeze from the beach that it sits on. It’s not just baseball folks, they tend to host cool events like marathon runs, concerts and camping sleepovers. You always feel safe even though there are no metal detectors. They keep the ball fans engaged with lively music from classics like Sweet Caroline to get up and dance songs like Gagnam (sp) Style. It’s a must visit for the summer.

Its a nice spot out to go watch a quick Cyclones game and relax. Its a little pricey but its still cheaper than a regular ball park and they host other events also.

A very clean and accessible park that’s very convienent to one’s needs. There are little shops in the stadium and pop up restaurants and food shacks there too! The bathrooms (public), are surprisingly extremely clean and tidy! There are also nearby restaurants if you wanna opt for something outside mcu park — like Popeyes, footprints café, applebees, Nathan’s, etc. overall, mcu park is clean and I will be returning for my next game!

Great place to watch minor league baseball. Great setting on the beach with outstanding views of both the ocean and the iconic Coney Island amusements. Lots of food options inside but even better ones right outside the front door. Parking lot next to the stadium very convenient.
Was not happy that their dippin dots were prepackaged rather than scooped.

Visiting MCU park was a bit of an odd experience. The park itself, gorgeous, but the cast of characters providing the entertainment, (the Brooklyn Cyclones), laughable at best.
Grab yourself a cold beer for seven bucks, kick your feet up on the rail and watch error after error courtesy of the Brooklyn Cyclones while baking in the relentless sunshine. Seriously, there is little to no shade, so if you’re attending a daytime game, you’re screwed!
The view over the centerfield wall is one of the most unique in all of baseball, professional or whatever this is — little league maybe? Anyhow, it’s of some crazy roller coaster with loops, corkscrews, high climbs and big drops. If watching the Cyclones and drinking six Coors Lights doesn’t make you sick, the distant roller coaster sure will.
Oh yeah, we happened to go on Seinfeld day, which included an opening pitch by the Soup Nazi and a complementary Keith Hernandez magic loogie bobblehead… awesome!

I came here about 2 summers ago to watch the Brooklyn Cyclones.
It was my first ever minor league baseball game. The New York Mets are going to be doomed if they have to rely on these prospects in the future.
The ballpark is very well designed. Smack in the middle of Coney Island. You get a very nice view of the amusement parks especially the Cyclone ride. There is no bad view of the field. I was sitting 2 rows behind home plate, so you don’t need to worry about breaking the bank when it comes to purchasing tickets.
The food and drinks taste like amusement park food in Coney Island. Don’t expect top quality junk food like you would get at Citi Field or Yankee Stadium.
They do a lot of promotions to sell tickets like run around the bases, fireworks night, jersey night, etc. Just pick a game.
A good stadium to visit while you’re having fun at Coney Island during the summer. Don’t worry about parking. They have a parking lot there for a really cheap price.

Beautiful, comfortable ballpark in the heart of Coney Island.
I love how when you’re here, it feels like being in a small town. All the cheesy contests between innings, the cotton candy, the cheap souvenirs. However, it doesn’t feel forced or fake. The crowd here is a good mix of tourists and locals. There’s usually a nice breeze off the ocean and after a game you can take in the rest of the sights and sounds (and smells) of the boardwalk.
Definitely enjoy coming here for a game. I’ve also seen some concerts here and it’s a nice venue for that as well.
Easy to get here by train.
Great little park in the best borough in NYC!

Perfect spot for a baseball stadium! Near the boardwalk, two blocks from the subway, one block from Nathan’s Famous and the lights and action of the Coney Island amusement park in view over the outfield wall. How can you not smile walking in here?
A little rain delay wasn’t going to stop a decent crowd from watching the Brooklyn Cyclones take on the Staten Island Yankees, competitors in the New York-​Penn League (short season A). I’m not sure if the game should be classified a typical pitcher’s duel or if it was just lackluster offense. Regardless, the Cyclones pulled out an extra-​inning, dramatic win with a sacrifice RBI play at the plate. Great ending!
Tickets were only $ 10 for the evening game and the park has all the typical food and beer concessions you’d assume, including local favorites Nathan’s hotdogs/​fries and Brooklyn Brewery drafts. Basically, good time summer fun for the whole family.
Just stick to public transportation, if possible. It looks like parking could be a real pain around here with so many other local attractions.
