This bar is the best! the music is great and the atmosphere is very comfortable. I love this place!

Just a really low key bar with a vibe that has somehow been preserved in a neighborhood that is quickly losing a lot of its quirk and charm. Good music, cheap drinks, dark ambience, and a pool table.

Maracuja has happy hour beer and pickle-back shot specials. The collection of boobie mugs and cups are fun to look at. And I love their beer garden in back. Pretty and peaceful.

This unassuming bar has a beautiful secret garden patio out back. And with a cheap beer-and-shot special, it’s a must see if you’re bar hopping in Williamsburg. There’s also a pool table and juke box, so it’s easily a place you could spend several hours. But since I’m not from the area, I prefer to bar hop. The space itself has a divy but comfortable feel to it, and the staff is friendly and attentive. On the night we went, most of the bar patrons were in the back patio and looked to be groups of regulars who all knew each other. As someone from out of town, I like to know when I’ve stumbled across a local favorite, and this seems to be one of those little gems not everyone may know about. It wasn’t crowded for a Saturday night, which makes it great for quick refills! I definitely recommend this as a place to come with a group of friends to pregame for a few cheap drinks or to spend a night out on a budget.

Sexy spot, nice staff, enchanted garden out back, there’s even some tasty food if you want to eat. Their matchbooks have an optical illusion that can be recognized when held upside down. Charlie and«Coan-ee» are the owners, they’re so sweet, no wonder the staff’s happy!

I love this bar. It is my go-to bar for my birthday celebration. They don’t have a kitchen anymore, but it’s never too crowded and they have a nice outdoor area. The inside is big and they have reasonable prices and nice bartenders.

We went here on a Friday night because of the great reviews and the name– thought it would be a cool Brazilian spot. It was empty, dark, there was maybe 1 or 2 Brazilian drinks, they no longer serve food, and the music playing was horrible(think nickelback pandora). When we left there were two other patrons there– drinking alone and adding to the overall sadness of the place.

Definitely a favourite in Williamsburg. Large bar area, good music, and a fantastic outdoor area. The bar can accommodate pretty large groups, as the floorspace is fairly large.

It’s a bar reminds me of the Brooklyn Ale House. Dim lightings with a pool table and music selected with their taste. What happened to the ceiling? Normally I do not go to a bar unless my friends draw me there, so any bar would not be my favorite spot to spend time. However this bar has plenty of space and seatings and not too loud to hear what friends are saying. The bartenders are nice and easy to talk to, and drinks are made simple and quick. I think this is a bar I would come back if my friends want to. But what happened to the ceiling? :p

One of my very favorites. Charlie and Connie are my heroes. They have curated a really special experience at Maracuja and I will always consider it a «home bar» no matter where I live. do yourself a favor and make a night out of visiting Maracuja with close friends. It’s just a singular establishment, not sure how to explain… just go.

I stick to high life and pickle backs when I come here, so in my experience this place is dirt cheap and a good place to get real weird.

Mixed drinks were $ 7 and pickle backs were $ 5. I’m pretty sure the reason we came was for the cheap pickle backs(not my gig, so I won’t mention them here). The place wasn’t too packed and the bartenders were pretty responsive, although we had gotten a table and the waitress didn’t come by until after we had already had two rounds up at the bar. This is just a bar, and although the music was fun I wouldn’t come here except to maybe hang out on a «chill» night or start the evening here(which is what we did).

This is one of the first bars I ever visited when I was living in Brooklyn for a hot minute… and it’s still one of my favorite destinations in the borough. The music is always on point, the drinks are cheap enough to call it a deal, and there’s just a camaraderie of good people that always seem to be present. No idiots, just a roomful of cool adults whose livers have some mileage. All in all, a casual, quality hang always.

Didn’t see the hype about Maracuja. Came here for a friend’s birthday gathering on a Saturday night in January. There was already drama once I walked in — apparently a friend of mine took a pic of the décor and was brusquely addressed for doing so rather than saying ‘excuse me sir, could you please not do that’ or i don’t know, have a sign up? That aside, the bartender was cool. We were a large group(ten people total) and we got seating by the door. A plus ’cause the place was packed. We got some food — sliders and fries. Downside was that we had to grab it ourselves from the bar in addition to drinks. With no trays even to help you out with the load. I wanted to like Maracuja, but there seems to be a split between being as hip as one of those spots you’d see on a TV show and actually providing a good all-around experience. Seems like it was trying too hard to be too cool.

$ 5 pickleback shots, $ 6 shot of whiskey & a pint of PBR + a super cute and cozy backyard area, I’m a fan. Came here once because the arepa place down the block was way too packed, and another time to get some fuel for a board game social. Good place for a stopover or settling in for the night. Especially on a gorgeous fall night. I’ll definitely be back. One star off for playing Bön Jovi though.(come on…)

I can’t stand this bar. Maybe I’m not hipster enough? People there are either too cool or think they are too cool. And music is so loud that you have to yell at your friends. Like, I get it, it’s a bar, but my ears hurt and i’m not at a concert. Their patio is very awkward. I’ve always ended up standing in the middle of 5 tables listening to all kind of amazing conversations people are having. Make sure you are not in people’s ways when you are walking from the patio back to the bar or vice versa. Because people get MAD. like real mad. Never going back. I’m not cool enough.

Maracuja is a wonderful bar, it definitely has a lot going for it. The friendly bartenders, comfortable booths and couch, small but well thought out menu, friendly bartenders, pool table, and a secret garden like patio out back with plenty of seating(unless of course you’re coming on a busy Saturday night). I ordered the sliders(2 for $ 5). I was told that it was a very popular item on the menu so I had to give it a try. If McDonalds was to add sliders to their menu, I suspect they would be like this. The pattys were thin and tasted pre-frozen, and they loaded each with ketchup and mustard(which was not listed on the menu). The pickle wedge that it comes with is supposedly house-made and that was very good though. The drink prices are a tad high, there’s no reason why a laid back Williamsburg bar should be charging $ 5 for a Bud Light Bottle. It’s not completely out of line but it is just enough to keep me rushing back here. If this place was a little cheaper and the food was a tad better it would shoot at the top of my favorite bar list. Still Maracuja is a great spot worth checking out.

Cute bar with a sign that makes it look like a german beer garden. I asked the bartender about it and he explained that it’s an old eastern european neighborhood, so that’s where the sign comes from. Ah i see… I ordered the special, marakuja. The bartender carefully explained that it is pronounced Ma da ku sha! Just so we’re clear, it’s a sweet drink but all natural! Meanwhile a Neil Young track is playing — Miner for a Heart of Gold. Later in the night Iggy & the Stooges were on. Good music, chill vibe, and they have a pool table in back. Next time I’ll come back for food.
