Great pizza, highly recommended. The staff is friendly. It’s small, there isn’t always a place to sit(it’s popular so you might have to share a table) and they don’t have as large of a selection as other places, but it is definitely great.

I wish I could give this place five stars. I go to Midwood and I get super hungry. I came here once two weeks ago and got a cheese slice on the go. Even while eating it messily on the train, it was super cheesy and DELICIOUS. So I returned today in hopes of having the same cheesy goodness, and I was super disappointed. I came in when there were very little customers, yet the pizza guy(apparently his name is Frankie) cut me a slice and handed it over without even leaving it to cook in the oven, like most pizzerias should do. I also bought an iced tea from the fridge this time, and it was your average iced tea — nothing special. I spent $ 4.25, which is disappointing considering I spent $ 2.50 on a pizza slice I didn’t even enjoy and $ 2.25 on a mediocre-tasting iced tea. I’m still hoping for the same magic in my mouth I tasted the first time, so I guess I’ll come back here again. And maybe next time I’ll remember to ask Frankie to warm up my pizza. Update: I have come back here more often, maybe around once or twice a week. The people here are very nice to me now; they recognize me and my friend and the pizza is starting to taste even better now. Five stars!

The pizza here is great! Frznk, his dad and Robert are ALWAYS friendly and engaging which makes it an experience. If you are in the area, stop by and get to know them and their pizza.

A great little mom & pop operation that has been around for decades. Frankie runs the place with efficiency and a smile. A friendly place with a very good, tasty product. Grandpa Luigi is there many times in the back adding his authentic Old World Italian know-how and artful touch to the pizza recipe. There are a few tables in the place so if you are on the run, you can catch a few minutes to step off the treadmill and relax with a slice or two and a soda. If you are a Brooklyn College student or faculty, the place has woven itself into the fabric of the whole campus experience. As for the pizza, well, it is good — but not the best. The taste is a 5, but it looses points for the excessive oil. It just could be so much better if it weren’t dripping oil. In the early days I used to eat there almost on a daily basis. I soon became conscious of how much oily fats I was consuming from the pizza; now if I indulge, it’s only once or twice a month. And when I do partake, the only way I can eat a slice is to use four or five napkins to sop up the puddles of oil. You know a slice is simply too oily if you can hold it vertically and a pool of oil drips off it, and I know that is not healthy, monounsaturated olive oil. Frankie could easily reduce the oil and bump that rating up to a full five stars. Still, it’s almost impossible to pass this place and not order a slice when that pizza hunger is gnawing at your stomach.

I stop by here about once a week and it’s okay. There are good days where the pizza is hot and tasty and I’m in and out-usually with a bottle of tea or soda besides a slice. Sometimes, I get a super chewy, overly greasy piece where the cheese is so hot it just comes off the slice in a little ball and it makes me say to myself that I’ll never come back. However, since it’s on the way to Brooklyn College, I usually end up here anymore… more often than not, I’m pretty happy with it though. If only they stayed up past 9.

For $ 2.50 a slice(plain) this place is definitely worth checking out. Located on an obscure street next to Brooklyn College, I can see why Luigi’s isn’t the most famous. However, I am delighted to report a very positive report on the pizza’s quality. It was simply perfect. I’m going to try going back again(when I have time). Five stars ALLTHEWAY!

#1 — PLEASE get an air conditioner. #2 — Had to wait a half hr. for a pizza pie that I ordered in advance that was GIVENAWAY! really? wtf??! They’re only getting 3 stars because once I actually got the pizza, it was half decent.

One of the best pizza shops only after spumoni gardens… But I love this place as a bk college student this place is convenient, great prices, real size slices and they are super friendly!!! They make you feel welcomed every time you come in the door. With all the food choice around the Flatbush ave no strand ave junction this is my go-to place. Very clean, fast service. Food with a smile. Or a slice with a smile!

My pizza ratings are for taste only. I could care less about ambiance or seating if the slices is right. Luigi’s makes my list for good Brooklyn pizza. My stepdaughter goes to high school in the area and I happily stop in for a slice whenever I get the opportunity. Solid slice — highlight on the crust that manages the perfect cross between soft and crunchy. In a word… yum!

Eh, this is a solid pizza place — I’m a little surprised at all the 5-star raves, though. They do a good business because they’re near Brooklyn College and Midwood High School. I’ve never had a terrible slice here, but I’ve also never had a fantastic one. If you ask around the campus, you’ll hear enough people recommend walking down Nostrand to grab pizza at the place at the corner of Ave I. Luigi’s is there where you need it, though, and is a million times better than the cafeteria’s pizza(both the regular pizza and the Kosher pizza). The staff is usually very nice and the price is fair. Way better than all the chain crap nearby.

Pizza is mouth watering, soft crust, perfect touch of cheese non salty sauce urging I get goosebumps thinking about it! The only issue is there is no bathroom and seats are very limited. There are about 4 or 5 small tables. When the kids get out at Brooklyn college it gets packed .fast. The slice is $ 2.50 though: s its very thin so you may want 2!

Delicious! No seriously, everything people have said on here about fluffy crusts, cheesy cheesy slices with delicious flavor is spot on. After going here for a quick lunch two days in a row, I asked the guy behind the counter if they put crack in their pizza. He laughed and said no, but he was probably lying because I eat here CONSTANTLY. And I can’t help but look cockeyed at the guy who said the service here was slow because the guys behind the counter bust. their. asses every lunch time when they get swamped. If there’s only two people behind the small counter and 8 people in front of me, waiting 5 minutes for a slice seems perfectly reasonable. I just wish they did delivery! :(

This is a solid pizzeria, right in a convenient location CUNY Brooklyn’s campus. Because of this, the turnover here is great and you’re pretty much guaranteed a fresh slice during busy hours. The place looks solidly average, until you get a slice. The defining characteristic here is a great crust. Very soft on the otuside, yet crisp underneath, it is excellent texturally and very fluffy. The cheese is also good quality, although I thought the suace could’ve been better. Not that it was bad, but it was very mild and could’ve stood out more. The overall product is solid, and if the sauce were better and the crust had a bit more character, this slice would compete with some of the best. Regardless, this place is worth a stop if you’re in the area.

Species: New York Pizzeria Great Pizza. Really a slammin’ Pizzeria. Like the subway or ‘rude New Yorkers’ — pizza is common topic of discussion amongst natives and transplants. Everyone and their visiting half-sister LOVES to boast about this place or that place. They classify the pizza, break it down, deconstruct, I say fooey to all that hogwash. Shut the eff up and eat the damn slice. Something indescribable about a superb slice, something excruciatingly delicious. The proper New York slice defies language and stands in opposition to all things gourmet. The slice here is simply great. Magnificent.

This is the pizza we reminisce about. The pizza we dream and brag about when we are away from NY. The one with the crust thin enough to let flavor come through but not so thin that the pizza falls apart. The one with the magical cheese, sauce combo that’s salty without being too salty, and greasy without being too greasy. Not the crap Ray’s sells to tourist convincing them there having a NY slice. Not the stand in line for an hour«boutique“or» designer” pizza. You won’t need to break out your credit cards to pay for this. This the pizza of my youth. This is NY pizza.
