Well…, we were really excited about trying this place. I had friends from out of town. We were all tired and hungry from walking all day. It ‘s 9pm, we finally get there and it ‘s closed! Even though Unilocal said open till 11. Disappointed.

Meh. Wasnt crazy about the tapas selections or wine menu. The camarones a l’ajillo was excellent and great for dipping. I thought most of the plates were average.

I bought a Living Social voucher and invited a friend for dinner on a Friday night. We arrived about 7:15 pm and we didn’t leave until 10:00 pm. The food was pretty decent, but the service was awful. After the voucher value, our bill for the evening was $ 34.00. I don’t think that it was worth the three hours. If I were on a date, it would be totally worth it. The bill was so little because we barely saw the waiter to order additional food or Wine. We nursed the only wine glass for 2 hours. WTH! I will give Lola’s Tapas Bar another try, but I hope the service will be better.

Loved this spot. Firstly, if the place is perhaps a little bit too dark, I loved the feeling. Cozy and welcoming. The staff were very pleasant and attentive, and made us fell very comfortable. The food was delicious. We ordered a few tapas to share: the baked clams and the mussels were quite nice, my favorite was the spicy sausage though. Really beautifully cooked calamari, worth to go back just for it. We also ordered the ribs(as a main to also share). It was divine. We had mojitos with our food. I must say one of the nicest mojitos i’ve tasted in Brooklyn! We were a party of 7 with 2 children. They were very nice to the kids and even provided with a few things to keep them entertained which was a nice added touch. Found this spot by chance, but definitely recommend it, and will definitely will go back.

We came here because my fiancée had some kind of living social deal. I wasn’t expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised. We ordered quite a bit of tapas and they are all very good and loaded with garlic when appropriate. I suggest getting the shrimp scampi… sooooo good. Our deal came with a Sangria which, while I’m not a wine fan, was good. The wait staff was also really quick and attentive. However, they do need bigger tables or smaller plates. If I’m going to only get tapas for dinner then I’m going to order 4 or 5 for 2 people to share. It would be nice if all of them fit on the table along with the water glasses and the other drink glasses.

I was intrigued, & excited to try Lola’s. I had purchased a Living Social deal and took a friend out last night. In a word: DELICIOUS! I had the calamari to start, and received delectable, perfectly cooked & seasoned morsels of goodness. The deal came with a complimentary glass of sangria for my friend & I, but it was nothing to write home about. I had the churassco(hangar steak); again, it was delicious– hearty & tasty, not to mention the delightful garlicky broccoli Rabe on the side. My friend gave me a sample of her sea bass, which was light & flavorful. Obviously the food was top-notch, but the service & ambience were great, too. My main complaint would be the seating; it is such a nice atmosphere(except maybe a little too dark?) that one would like to relax & savor, but gosh darn the seats were uncomfortable! I’m not quite a petite little girl, & I like comfy chairs! However, yet & still, I promptly raved to my boyfriend, & we will be back tonight!

A friend and I came here after some shopping. I didn’t even remember the name (had to check my bank statement) but I knew I have to write this review and definitely come back! We started off with some drinks. The apple martinis and margaritas are great and strong. Not to mention they were only $ 5 during happy hour. Oh and I can’t forget to mention the big bowl of sangria which I will definitely try next time! We also ordered some tapas — bruschetta and guac and chips. — the bruschetta was amazing. I have no other words to describe it — guacamole was definitely store bought and I would suggest against it. This is a good spot to check after work or even during the weekend whether on a date or with some friends!

Not to be a negative Nancy but… Just kidding! We went here for dinner tonight and the food was great. Deep house music playing in the background helped set a nice ambient mood. Loved every dish we had. Highly recommend Mama’s meatballs and the mushroom bruschetta. Hell even the bottle of Montepulciano was yummy! Will check out the pizzas on our next visit!

I went to Lola’s for a change of pace, as even in a city as big as New York you can sometimes get into a rut of eating at the same places week after week. It was a quiet Sunday night and wonderfully warm inside the restaurant. My boyfriend and I started with 2 dishes off of the«tapas» section of the menu-bruschetta and calamari. I liked that the calamari was not overly fried, and the marinara that accompanied it was flavorful. The bruschetta was pretty simple, which isn’t impressive but is how I prefer it. For our meals, my boyfriend ordered the fish tacos(also on the tapas menu) and I ordered the ghocchi with vodka sauce. The server, who was very attentive, must have been a bit confused by ordering a tapa as an entrée as he brought out the tacos with the appetizers and, later on, two places so that my entrée could be shared. Though it wasn’t what we had in mind, we ended up happier we ate that way! The pasta was delicious, though the sauce didn’t have as much flavoring as I prefer. Though nothing at Lola’s blew me away, everything was solidly good.

Unfortunately I didn’t take any pics of all the amazing food I tasted since I was here for my residency social event.(Didn’t think I would look too professional or be known as the candidate who was busy busting out my Iphone, snapping pictures of their drool inducing food presentation, and chasing after all the delicious treats). I arrived a bit early and was given a drink voucher upon checking in. They had a giant bowl of sangria right at the bar ready for us but since I’m not much of a drinker I only had a small taste and i found it was beyond delicious. I soon hurried over and found myself a seat right at the center(yay) — they connected all the tables and seated all 40+ of us together in the main room. I found the restaurant to be extremely cozy — one you would imagine yourself hosting a wedding rehearsal dinner with your loved ones(Yes i was imagining that as I was munching away). Soon I was surrounded with plates and plates of piping hot appetizers: fried calamari with marinara sauce, sauteed mushroom bruschetta, tomato basil bruschetta, and veggie flatbread. Although I was supposed to be busy mingling, I couldn’t help but continue stuffing my face! They were beyond generous with the amount of food they served. They made sure every section of the long table had enough food to go around(twice). And that wasn’t it. What we thought was dinner was actually just appetizers. My table was beyond stuffed when the servers came by to switch in the«main course» plates. We couldn’t believe our eyes when they presented us their signature long pizzas — half white, half arugula/spinach. The smell was just heavenly and too hard to resist — we knew we had to dig in some more and we were not disappointed! The cheese was gooey, the bread was chewy, and each slice was full of flavor. I felt so spoiled on my first residency social event. What a wonderful set up and gathering. Ambiance was lovely, food was satisfying and the service was impeccable — One of the residents arrived late due to on call emergency and they even made her a personal sized pizza just for her! Although I don’t go out Brooklyn often, Lola’s definitely a reason for me to revisit! Can’t wait to return with my fiancé for a date night!

I guess I can’t really attest to how amazing this place is because we were only able to order pizza on the menu. Their gas stove was out of order so the kitchen was closed. We had a couple of glasses of sangria and a nutella pizza with strawberries which was delicious! This strikes me as an Italian restaurant so I am not sure what makes it Mediterranean in nature. I guess if I’m ever in the area, I’ll give this spot a second chance.

I found this place just as we were walking on Smith street. The food was great, the service was great and the owner is just a wonderful person. I had out of town company and they were staying in Brooklyn at a hotel. We decided on Mediterranean food and this was the best place ever. I had the skirt steak and it was cooked to perfection, we had appetizers and drinks and I have no complaints. I would recommend this place to friends, family and my clients. Great food and even greater prices. Sorry I did not take pictures of the food because we ate it all before I could take the pictures.lol. Go and enjoy. oops almost forget the Tiramisu was definitely to live for… whew. okay im done…

After coming here twice and absolutely loving it both times, I decided to write a review. The service here is GREAT! Genuinely nice people work at this establishment and quick when you want something. The food is Amazing. Mussels are fantastic, Arugala Pizza is top notch, and eggplant Parmesan is my favorite! This is my new favorite tapas joint to go to in the area. It’s perfect for a date night material because the setting is rather intimate with candles & the ambience is lovely(I’m big on ambience). The only thing I’ve ordered that wasn’t 10⁄10 was the fried calamari. It was okay, nothing special. This is probably due to how exceptional everything else was. Oh and one more thing-order a Sangaria :)

Wanting to try somewhere new, I was browsing through Livingsocial when I saw Lola’s listed. They advertised $ 20 off food as well as a round of sangria for two for only $ 10. Sold. I was a little skeptical because I found out(after buying the deal) that this was a new restaurant, and inevitably would still have some issues in service or quality, as many opening restaurants normally encounter. I braced myself for long waiting times and confused servers. When my boyfriend and I arrived, we were greeted by a small, candlelit venue with front walls that could open up to the street, letting it feel like you were outside even though all seating is indoors. Their specials display listed a variety of drinks all for around $ 5, but note that you have to sit at the bar to get the specials(which we unfortunately found out later, after ordering quite a few). All of the nervousness soon flew away as our server greeted us right away to take our drink order as well as bring us warm, crusty bread with olive oil and vinegar– good olive oil mind you, I know my stuff. We got straight to analyzing the menu, which has SO many options that anyone could find at least 10 dishes that would suit them. We picked a variety of tapas: mushroom brushetta, fritto mixto, tuna carpaccio, argula brick oven pizza. Let me tell you… I struggle to even write this review because I want to keep this place just for me! Everything was so delicious, fresh, and carefully put together. It is hard to remember the last time when we went to a restaurant where everything we ordered was so tasty. And the service… So attentive and friendly, gave a real family-owned vibe which I find so comforting in the days of corporate chain eating. Another few key notes: — Strawberry mojito. Do it. — Incredibly reasonably priced– tapas mostly no more than $ 10 each, and sharable portion size — They have entrée options as well if you don’t feel like having a sharing dinner I’ve been back again since, and we got four or five different tapas. All still amazing. I don’t think you can go wrong with this place, and as sad as it makes me to let the cat out of the bag: these guys deserve your business! Go as soon as possible before everyone finds out!

Never ate at TJs and dont know if same owner/chef but an excellent meal for a great price. Clientele was definitely locals(not trendy transplants as my husband and I clearly are) and the atmosphere nice but again a local feel. The food was wonderful and service spectacular. Started off with fresh mango margarita. Shrimp with garlic app was super flavorful. I had homemade pasta with boars meat and wild mushrooms and it was quite amazing.($ 12). Artichoke app lightly crispy and wood fired(a dip with it would have been nice) and my mans veal dish was accompanied by crispy potatoes. This will be regular place for dining in and take out. You could easily walk by it not realizing how special the food(and prices) are. Food five stars. Service 5 stars. Atmosphere nice but a little cluttered with nicnaks so that’s why not perfect score.

What a great place and we needed something like this in the neighborhood. The choices of tapas are impressive and the prices are very reasonable. The paella is also another great choice. No matter what you choose, you will like everything. My wife and I have found our new love and we can’t stop going back.

Such a great surprise on a Tuesday night! We were biking around the neighborhood and decided to give this cute little place a try. It didn’t disappoint! Tasty food, very well-prepared, attentive service, cozy atmosphere, unassuming décor, fair prices… it has everything I’d ask for. First we had beef capaccio to start. Perfectly prepared and decent size… for like 10 bucks! My main dish is the pasta special which is black linguine with scallops and baby arugula. So tasty and nice-sized. My bf’s bronzino was cooked perfectly with almond crust and probably one of the best cooked white fish I’ve tasted for long time. Last time was at Extra Virgin which costs like 30 $ but at Lola’s you get it for $ 18. Instant favorite. Definitely coming back.

Been meaning to go to TJs for a while only to find it was replaced last week with Lola’s. Decided to check it out anyway and was not disappointed. Very friendly staff, $ 5 drink specials(ALL drinks! at the bar only) for their opening, and some of the best food in the area. The pizza was some of the best I’ve had(and this comes from a Greenpoint resident who frequents Pauly Gee’s) and I can’t wait to go back to try the tapas. Word on the street is they will be starting brunch soon, so ill have to return for that as well to check it out. Overall a great late night dinner with some delicious food.
