Very cool neighborhood bar. Only stopped in for a nightcap with another(local) couple, but we loved the atmosphere. Completely unpretentious and non«cliquey.» Parking is a bitch :)

It’s Williamsburg in Bay Ridge! This bar is very alive. Great place to have a beer in with a couple of friends but I came here for their food and I have to say I was very pleased with it. Classic buffalo wings were decent sized and enough for two people. Their special hot dogs were all high quality and worth a try, and that fried pickle order was out of this world. They offer a unique twist to your typical bar food experience so its worth traveling down there for some dinner.

I have been going here for a couple of months. I enjoy the food. The bartenders and crowd are friendly. Monday night Karaōke was great.

I been here twice already and its great. Both nights that I was here with my friends, we sat outside. It wasn’t cold because the porch area was covered with a plastic to prevent wind and rain from coming in. They are known for beers and hotdogs. The waffle fries, brussels spout, the hot mess was good for table snacks. I tried their bridge view hotdog which is pretty decent. The beers goes around $ 6 – 10 a glass, depending which beers. They do have plenty of different beers ranging from fruity to dry to heavy. Overall this is a great place for chilling after dinner or if you want to chat and relax.

I came here with a group after a trip to Dyker Heights for the Christmas lights. We were seated on the patio, which was surprisingly warm. The beer I ordered was no longer on tap, so I had a cocktail instead. The Sadie Mae, true to its description, tastes like peach snapple. It’s good, but not great. Refreshing, not strong, easy drinking cocktail. I ordered the Montague Hot Sausage with provolone cheese. It was dry and a little bland. I had to add hot sauce to give it some flavor. I also shared some bacon ranch waffle fries. They were pretty good. Love the thick chunks of bacon. The server was a little snarky and seemed slightly annoyed by our presence, like we were interrupting something he’d rather be doing. I’d come here for the venue, but there’s not much else that would make me seek it out again.

I came there with my friends on Saturday evening. In the main room was too loud and crowdy, tables are too small, so we decided to seat in the yard. Beer came in the smaller glasses than we expected, wings were ok, waffle fries were good and beer is a beer. So i did not get why this bar has so many good reviews, it is nothing special there. P. S. And we got an annoying waitress(don‘t know her name unfortunately)

Always drive by and never stopped… Glad I did… creative spin on hot dogs and I don’t particularly care for hot dogs! They were out of this world! Also had the fried chicken sandwich which came with yummy siracha sauce… tried the peach whiskey and a few different tap beers they were super yummy as well! I’ll be back for more! There was a garden with outdoor seating but I was comfortable At the high tops by he bar!

Bangin’ food. Especially after hangover. I had the Daddillac. Great food and the bread was excellent! If you’re a drinker, they got some good choices. Made for a good lunch and prob a good place to meet locals.

One of my favorite bar/all american places in bayridge. Its a very calm place but can also be the eccentric bar loudness depending on where you want to sit. During the warmer seasons they do have an outdoor seating area, and during winter they have the enclosed outside area with«fake fireplaces» and pretty lights on the trees… it has heating and airconditioning. Its an all around great spot if your looking for a hotdog and some wings. There hot dogs are absolutley amazing. The bacon wrapped hot dog is my very very happy spot. PICTURETHIS. This crunchy sof on the inside hot dog, wrapped in bacon, which is placed into an ultra fluffy bun. If your not a fan of bacon wrapped hot dogs… Then you can choose from the variety of other hot dogs they have. From classic hot dogs with ketchup and relish to the insanity of a spicy jalapeño dog, with pineapple salsa, and pink sauce which I never ventured upon. Those waffle fries… So good… They were sent from the waffle gds of the french fry family. SOMEFOOD I WOULDN’T TRYAGAIN: **The sausages sandwhiches are EH, If your from brooklyn and you know about the feast sausage and peppers this will be a dissapointment. Don’t go there for that. Just dont do it. **I have tried the«hot mess» whcih is a basket of waffle fries, sweet potato tater tots, chili, cheese, pickled jalapenos, banana peppers, diced white onions, diced tomato, sour cream blah blah blah blah. ITSTOOMUCHOF A MESSFORME. It becomes overwhelming and the flavors all dont go together and I would not. ever do that again. They have a very large selection of beer on tap, but when I go there I usually like to go there for the awesome stewarts root beer on draft, which not many places have(free refills). The staff is really friendly, very acommadating, sweet and helpful. Defnitley one of the better bars in bayridge. Go there for a hot dog, waffle fries and some beer, or root beer.

Heated outside area, friendly staff, and tasty pub food – this place is great. They’ve got all kinds of comfort food and a big drinks menu. I got downeast house pumpkin blend, a cider that tasted a bit like pumpkin pie. I also tried the Seattle hot dog(unique ingredients, unique taste, quite good), fried Brussels sprouts, and park avenue waffle fries(with raspberry barbecue sauce and goat cheese). The outside has cute Halloween decorations as of the writing of this review. All-in-all it’s a fun pub feel with tasty food and not that expensive.

Have come here a few times and it’s always a nice experience. There is a lot to like about this place. The bar is not super comfortable, and a little cramped but that’s ok, there are other option. There are a lot of tap beer options and the staff is always very knowledgeable. Sitting at the open windows in the front is nice, and is great light in the afternoon. There is also a great outdoor, backyard space that is comfy and shaded. Their go to menu items consists of hot dogs and certain sausage style red-hot dogs. Not usually my thing but good once in a while. Stacey, our helpful waitress was super-nice and knowledgeable, and checked in frequently enough but wasn’t intrusive. Asking to bring a cup of ice with white wine is the kind of pro-active thinking that is welcomed and appreciated. Will be stopping in here more frequently.

After riding to Bay Ridge from the city and getting brunch in the area, we were looking for an outdoor spot to have a few beers before making our trek back. We stumbled upon this place and it has a very peaceful patio in the back that was not expected. It’s right near a staples and other stores so we were shocked at how nice and quiet the patio was. When you walk in, it feels like a dive bar until you go through the back doors. Half the patio is covered so you could go there on a rainy day too. Their beer list is not as extensive as I hoped it would be and they mainly had ipa’s and wheats. It’s also a family-friendly spot, which is nice. Overall decent place in the neighborhood.

It’s a really cool bar in Bay Ridge. I know their backyard /beer garden is a huge drawing point for people. They have quite the large space in the back. But the best part for me is that they have a large selection of unusual beers to choose from. Servers /bartenders are really awesome to let you try the beers before you commit to what will likely be your first out of a few glasses of beer. They have great food for the table as well. I’ve only had the chance to try their tater tots(I love tater tots!) though I’m itching next time to try there really popular hot dogs. On Wednesday nights they have trivia night — AWESOME.

The Lock Yard is a lot like the places I grew up in when I lived in Bay Ridge, but it also has a wholly different feel that is more in line with how the neighborhood has changed during the last two decades. Playing to the craft beer crowd as well as the neighborhood folk who just want a cool place to hang, there’s seemingly something for everyone. I had a tough crowd to please on this visit, from a 70-something picky eater to me, the food snob. We were given the option to sit inside the bar or out in the beer garden now that a party from earlier in the day had cleared out. It was a cool and dreary day but, hey, what the heck – outside it was. We were seated at a large picnic table within the tented area of the garden. It was chilly, but the tent blocked any breeze and made it tolerable. Our server was friendly, but didn’t hover and gave us enough space to work through the various menu items. You’ve never seen negotiation until you’ve sat at a table with my family as they bargain about sharing entrees. I went with two hotdogs – the Johnny Cash(chili, cheddar, diced onion) and the Bridgeview(wrapped in bacon, deep fried and topped with red onion sauce) – and a side of waffle fries smothered in cheese. My heart still won’t speak to me. In the end, we all had a good time and everyone came away having enjoyed their meal. Service was good, as was the atmosphere, but I am betting the beer garden is much nicer on a summer night when the lights are on.

Umm so normally I have never venture out in the neighborhood I live in. Idk why but I know it has probably been a decade since I have stepped into bay ridge area… But anyway I found this place on a whim with the help of Unilocal of course. Wow I actually like this place. Came here for a munch and drinks with a friend of mine come to find out. They have backyard seatings(super cute) The backyard seating is kid friendly in which I was surprise because most bars aren’t so kid friendly. I don’t think(I’m pretty sure but I may be wrong) the front seating area is not kid friendly/welcome because it is where the main bar is. But the back outdoor seating is kid friendly. Local pub that serves only beer — hotdogs — burgers. I found the menu selection to be ehh nothing special. What is good here. Their wings. That is not listed on their menu is there wings! They have buffalo wings. Ask to mix up with buffalo wings and bbq so delicious all together! You have to ask them. I would so come back to this place but perfer to dine in out in the backyard because it just feels more relaxed to me. The front bar setting feels rather congested in my opinion. Service and both waitress we very, very attentive and friendly.(sorry I forgot your names)

Buffalo cauliflower! Here I was, thinking I was a sophisticated New Yorker and I’d never seen or heard of that, much less tasted it. But they had it at Lock Yard and it is my new favorite thing! I’m still dreaming about that. It looks like big boneless buffalo wings, but it’s really cauliflower. I’m in love. Came here with friends for a big celebration and everything was outstanding. The sausages are great and the waffle fries are tops. Beer selection is terrific and the service couldn’t be nicer. I’m happy to take a trip to the end of the R line to visit Lock Yard.

What?! How have I not written a review for Lock Yard? I was very excited to check them out when they first opened. I got a bunch of friends and sat by the backyard. I must say that I really enjoy the atmosphere here, very laid back and just perfect to relax, drink a beer, and catch up with friends. Let’s talk about food, the waffle fries and tater tots are good but nothing exceptional. They have a few selection of sandwiches to choose from and I really like that you can substitute the sausage for a tofurky beer brat. I was never a fan of sausage and I am quite happy to say that I had my first tofurky in the Lock Yard. Will I come back here? Yes the craft beers are great and you will most definitely find me here during Octoberfest drinking pumpkin ales.

Score one for Bay Ridge. There is nothing more simple than good old American hot dog and beer. This is a fantastic place and it is right in my neighborhood. We started off with Fox Barrel Blackberry Pear Cider. I really enjoyed this beer. Sweet, but not to sweet. It is a very chill and cool beer. A place that serves really really cold beer is a big thumbs up for me. This bar only serves American beers and they will let you sample the beers. Appetizers we started with the Sweet Potato Tater Tots. Oh my!!! I think I found my new favorite side dish. I loved the chipotle ketchup sauce. It was amazing. Next came the Garlic Pesto Fries. This was a side good dish. I like garlic fries, so the added pesto flavor was a plus for me. Then came the Cory’s Fried Pickles– panko, everything bagel seeds, cream cheese dipping sauce. I love a good Pickle. This one really hit the spot. A great crispy outside and crunchy on the inside. Out came the hot dogs… the Johnny Cash– chili, cheddar cheese, diced white onion. This is a very typical classic type hot dog. Very tasty if you are fan of chili and cheddar cheese on your hot dogs. The Seattle Sound– RC Cola caramelized onion, cream cheese, banana peppers, everything bagel seeds, sriracha aioli. Oh my. I think I’m in heaven. This has to be the best hot dog I have ever tasted. The flavors in the hot dog were amazingly delicious. It will make you go for more. The wait staff is so amazing here. Everyone is very friendly. They make great suggestions about what to eat and what to drink. Really scored with the Seattle Sound hot dog. Lock Yard is a very chill bar. Great service, Amazing food and drinks, and some good old classic music.

Bay Ridge has its new hipster mecca. It’s no surprise the neighborhood is gentrifying, but at some point, the NIMBY’s should throw in the towel. Because what they’ve done with the space is nothing short of amazing and Lock Yard is here to stay! Let’s break down the name: Lock Yard. Lock because the space was formerly a neighborhood locksmith. Yard because they have the best backyard in the neighborhood(and perhaps all of South Brooklyn). It has a retractable roof, so it’ll be open in the winter too, which is a big plus. As someone who did a fair amount of underage drinking in Bay Ridge years ago, the most welcome addition that Lock Yard brings(other than a touch of class) is its good beer and food selection. It’s run by the same owners as Kettle Black and Ho Brah Taco Joint. They don’t serve wings at Lock Yard since that’s Kettle Black’s claim to fame. But their menu is loaded with tons of sausage options. I had the CBR(chicken and broccoli rabe), and it was delicious. Also tried the sweet potato tots, a concept I didn’t know existed. Definitely worth trying. I also can’t speak enough about how friendly and helpful the staff is. They offered beer recommendations, samples, and joked around with us during their off time. One of the bartenders is a Phillies fan though, but he knew he sucked. They also have trivia night on Wednesdays(with a monthly tournament) and movie night outside on Tuesdays. There is literally no reason not to come here if you’re in the neighborhood!
