I keep waiting, anxiously for Loading Dock to re-open. When I first moved to the area, I saw chalk written on the ground ‘brunch at loading dock’ and with a little arrow towards the door — yes it’s that close. And I ended up calling in an order that same evening. YUM. What a great find(and so affordable). Since then(and up to it’s closing), I’ve managed to try everything on the menu. My favorite is still the carnitas taco’s. Now if it could just re-open already! I know a lot of people would be so happy!

Ok i was really disappointed when I got my fried fish taco($ 5)… there was only one. I ate it and loved it but hated it because there was only one. My friend ate his taco and ordered another one. I wanted to stew in my hatred for the Loading Dock taco but I broke down after he finished his chicken taco and walked over to the cashier and asked for a carne asada taco($ 5). When my single taco came, I ate it and my hate for Loading Dock slowly melted away… My mouth and tummy are happy. I happily skipped all the way back to work… but now I’m sad because I dont have any more.

Let me first say that the carnitas tacos are awesome, and I’ve been rocking them for a while now. But the last time I came in, I decided to go COMPLETELYFREAKINGCRAZY and get an al pastor burrito. Topped with salsa verde, sour cream, and salsa roja in a whimsical Mexican flag pattern, this is a knife and fork burrito. I’m not usually a fan of this route because: 1. I like eating with my hands. Utensils complicate things, and they are for more civilized folk. 2. Cutting up a burrito ruins the illusion that you’re not eating that much food. When it’s all nice and wrapped up, it’s kind of like a small sandwich. But when you cut that sucker open, you realize that there’s so much freaking food in there! That’s probably why I am always in terrible pain after eating one. But I don’t really care, because this al pastor burrito was filled with juicy chunks of delicious pork, and bits of pineapple here and there like hidden treasures. I love this place. Good food. Fireplaces in the winter. Open doors in and tables outside in the summer. And the staff rocks. Every one of them.

Walking down Tillary, we see a mysterious message: «Tacos this way!» and arrows pointing down the street. My wife, the smarter half, knows that you have to follow chalk messages on the street when they mention tacos. Let’s see: Art gallery. Tacos. Tamales. BYOB. Coffee. Pretty perfect combination. I appreciate that the fish tacos can be prepared as either fried or grilled — nice option. Everything we had was tasty. We’ll be back.
