Everything about my visit here was super: convenient location next to Marcy Ave station, friendly and helpful guys working there; delicious food — had the Bibimbap bowl and highly recommend; and dope music selection while I waited :) Definitely recommend this place!

Their onigiri is amazing. I highly recommend the bacon egg and cheese, it has a little soft boiled quail egg inside which was unexpected, and it’s buttery and crispy on the outside. The spicy salmon was my second favorite, it was also nice and crispy on the outside, super flavorful and flaky salmon inside, and served with a delicious shiso sauce that tastes super fresh. Amazing flavor combos, what an unexpected and unassuming place!

Really want this restaurant to succeed! Run by young guys, delicious Korean food with a twist. If you’re expecting Korean food like your mama makes, this isn’t it. Typical Korean spice and fermented flavors are downplayed and paired with creamier sauces. I can tell they sort of watered down the flavor for a broader customer base — not everyone can handle the authentic stuff. Still, delicious and fairly healthy compared to anything else on Broadway. Definitely fills the need for Korean food in Brooklyn. Obsessed with the rice balls, try them all!

Great group of people who run this place. The best thing is the bacon egg and cheese rice ball. You won’t regret it!

A truly welcome addition to this stretch of Broadway. It’s small with plenty of light so you can either grab-and-go or sit in the window and the counter and watch the world go by. There are a few tables as well. I checked in the with the Unilocal and got the deeeelicious iced tea for free with my lunch. I went with the classic beef bibambop which was simple and flavorful. The whole experience was cheap, cheerful, and quick. I couldn’t ask for more. What’s more, they deliver. All in a all good quick food before or after the train.

Not sure why people are raving about the flavorless rice balls. I’ve been to Korea and their convenience store rice balls are way better than this. The sauces do make it taste better but I’d prefer the rice to be flavored already. Don’t think I’d get the rice balls again. I do want to try their bowls though. They look good but I hope the bowls aren’t like their balls.

I personally love the dumplings and rice balls but everything on menu is in point. If you are vegetarian. The edamame ball is straight fire.- Aka tasty. The staff is all friendly and attentive. I am always sure to send business their way. Whenever a tourist asks for a place to eat nearby I suggest this spot. They are a great addition to the ever changing neighborhood. Food in my opinion is priced properly for something hand crafted with love and skill. Enjoy

I love their food! I ordered Spicy salmon, Kichin fried chicken and the Bulgogi Bowl and I have to say… so tasty, fresh, authentic and Krispy!!! Wow! The staff are super cool and I love how they constantly wave to their usual customers that passes by, that tells you a lot. I came in with my kids and they were super friendly. I’m so happy you guys are around here… in Brooklyn… where good things are happening See you guys definitely soon! Xoxo

I love 2 things: good food and a good deal. Kichin has both. I’m really into the bibim salad with bulgogi or chicken, which I’ve had twice after a big workout, and both times have been super satisfied. The bulgogi is slightly more delicious than the chicken version but both are solid. The guys who work here are sweet, too.

3.5 rounded down. Prices are great and the staff is super friendly. Items are creative and a much needed option for fast Azian food. The flavors though were a little lacking(relying too much on the sides of sauce) and execution could be tightened up(rice balls falling apart). Operations could also be tighter. Overall, a great option for the area!

This place hands-down had the best fried chicken that I have ever had. Such a perfectly seasoned and crunchy batter around their tender chicken pieces. It’s an automatic 5* based on their chicken. Everyone needs to try it. I’ll have dreams about it when I go back to Toronto. I also had a spicy salmon rice ball, which was good — came with a nice sauce. It was a little bit too much rice for my liking — but what else was I really expecting out of a rice ball? The bibimbap was good as well, it’s hard to judge bibimbap because most places are fairly similar since it’s the same ingredient and sauce. But really good pieces of beef in it.

Yum We had the : 1. Salmon rice balls 2. Kimchi fried rice 3. Chicken bowl 4. Fried wonton All yum. Would maybe get all rice balls and no bowl next time. Would maybe get steamed instead of fried wontons next time. Nice people.

I found this place through an article in the NYTimes and realized it was near my old neighborhood so I had to go. Was definitely worth it! I tried all the rice balls and they were definitely the best rice balls I’ve ever had. The spicy salmon and the bulgogi both come with a sauce on the side that pairs well with it. The bacon, egg and cheese was my favorite — perfectly seasoned, surrounded with a crispy layer of rice and cooked just so that the yolk is still oozing out when you take a bite — I didn’t even miss the ketchup! It took a while for the rice balls to come out but that’s because you know they were handcrafting each and every one with love and care. The honeydew tea was also bomb — tasted like fresh cut honeydew with a hint of tea. The fried chicken was also noteworthy — super crunchy, like it had been fried in layers and layers of panko crumbs. It tasted like shrimp tempura but with chicken and topped with a spicy mayo-esque sauce. You pretty much have to try everything here. The place is small, with only one table and a countertop with several stools, so it would be best to take things to go. The place is also kind of hard to find, the sign is small and obscure but it’s right on the corner and the shop is really well lit. The guys who ran the place were super nice and friendly, can’t wait to come back here again.

Eat the fried chicken however you can– in the bowl, on the side, in the rice ball… Anything. It’s boneless, crispy, tender– amazing. Also get the bacon, egg, and cheese rice ball. It’s perfectly crispy on the outside, and the quail egg inside is runny. So good. So good. So good. Staff are nice too!

The kichin fried chicken bowl is extremely flavorful and delicious. The fried crust is super crispy but the meat itself is still flavorful because it has been marinated separately so that it is infused with flavor. The gimbap was alright — a little less flavored than I would have liked but still enjoyable. But by far and away the best part of our meal was the rice balls. Holy hell the spicy salmon rice balls are phenomenal! Spicy and fishy and absolutely out of this world with the kimchi aioli. Definitely get these! The prices are pretty standard but I think the rice balls are definitely the best value — you get 3 rice balls for $ 10 and the rice balls are as big as a fist. That’s a lot of food. We used the Unilocal check-in to get a free honeydew iced tea and that was perfect to go with the rest of the meal because it was refreshing and mildly flavored/sweet. Highly recommend. This spot is close to where we live so we will become regulars for sure.

OH F**K YEAH. Is the only phrase I can describe Kichin. It’s been quite awhile since I got excited about food. Now I waltzed my way in here after a happy hour so my memory/feeling of the food might be superfluous. I blame the one too many Brooklyn lagers I’ve had. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen employees actually give a shit about their food. I ordered the spicy salmon nigiri(rice ball). My spicy salmon rice ball was handcrafted with such love and care. The amazing man(God bless him) made my onigiri in less than 45 seconds, inspected it and then wrapped it so perfectly. The man in the front of house lovingly poured some amazing red sauce in a cup to go as well. This is the type of joint where you take your shit to go and make your way home so you can stuff your face like an animal. Seating is present but very limited. My spicy salmon rice ball was cooked perfectly and stuffed with soooo much salmon. Perfectly cooked salmon. The fish was moist and delicate. The way salmon should ALWAYS be cooked. It was spicy but in a flavorful manner. Not overpowering. Very filling. Words cannot explain the happiness I feel from eating their food. I am so happy I only live 3 blocks away from Kichin. Now if they delivered, half my paycheck would probably go to eating here. My only regret is that I only ordered a spicy salmon rice onigiri and I wish I was hungrier and tried more stuff.

Holly Kimchi, this place offers an awesome Home cook Korean food experience. The staff are really friendly and enjoy talking with the customers. They have a good vibe as they prep your food. I had the honey dew ice tea which was different and had an authentic flavor. We ordered the katsudon bowl and bulgogi bibimbap which was very good. We will need to revisit this location and try the rest of the menu.

I have been watching this corner wondering what was going to open. And now I’m super stoked after my first visit. The rice balls were soooo good, or i was just really hungry. But I’m going with they were GOOD. I had the salmon, avocado edamame and BBQ. The two guys working were super chill and nice. I hope they last, and would love them to be open late, like past midnight. Def will be going back again and again.
