Short story. These guys are garbage. The portions are very small(my appetizer was literally two small chunks of chicken and some warm lettuce) and the customer service is awful. Long story. I called them before I ordered to see if they would substitute some salad for rice, they agreed to do it for an extra charge, although it took them awhile because the idiot who answers the phone was stoned or drunk or just can’t pay the slightest attention. The most common word out of his mouth was«ugh…» At any rate, they agreed, but when my order arrived no such substitution was made. When I called to have the situation rectified they did not even say they were sorry or take the sligthest bit of responsibility. Instead, the same stoned fool made an excuse and blamed it on someone else. He then told me he wouldn’t do anything about it. Never again. Not worth it and too many similar options in the area.

Disgusting food. Terrible Service. Never again — stay away at all costs. King Tandoor is way better

I chose this restaurant as a venue for our meet up group holiday meal and we had a great time. There were eleven of us in total and Kanan accommodated us perfectly. The food was delicious — all presented in metal bowls, we all had different curries however my lamb rogan josh was very smooth tasting and the lamb succulent. It’s also BYOB so all in all a great night. Thanks for hosting us!

This is my favorite Indian food place in the Slope. We ordered multiple times from here and have been to their little restaurant itself. Delivery is lightning fast. Always had our food within 20 min. Never any mess ups in orders, packed great and arrived hot! The restaurant is quiet and super clean. Everything on the menu is delicious. Chicken Sagwala(spinach) and Baigan Bhartha(mashed eggplant) are my absolute favorites! Vegetarian Samosas are out of this world! My latest obsession is Chicken Korma(chicken in cashew cream sauce)! P. S. They are open all the time. During Jonas they were open until 9PM!

I’ve ordered from here a few times, and have dined in and have never been disappointed. I’ve tried both the meat dishes and vegetarian dishes. The Goan Salmon Curry is a must order, the salmon is flaky, not dry and that curry is out of this world. The veggie samosas were mostly potato, but still tasty. My fave is the Saag Paneer. This is my go to spot for Indian food.

The food is great. The service is spotty. We have ordered multiple times and it was great, but when it was late(by 1.5 hours) — the management acted helpless and the delivery folks feigned ignorance. This sort of bad management makes us think twice about ordering again.

Kanaan has been here for at least a year now and we’ve enjoyed having them in the neighborhood. We used to order via Seamless but they’re so nice there we just order by phone now to save them some money. We want to keep them here! They have a pretty varied menu and have a significant vegetarian selection. The restaurant itself is also nice looking, even though I’ve never seen anyone eating there except for us. It’s cute, clean and the food is good. You can’t go wrong with the tikka masala, the vegetable samosas, the tandoori chicken appetizer is usually good(sometimes it’s a bit dry) and they have a veggie ball dish that’s also good and kid approved.

This is our go-to Indian take-out in the neighborhood. The samosas are very solid and not dry as we’ve experienced in many other Indian places. They also have a great appetizer/entrée deal that we usually order that comes with naan. I love the ‘butter chicken’(Chicken Makhani) here and there are other dishes we’ve tried that are just as good. We haven’t had a bad meal here yet!

Kana epitomizes why this part of Third and Fourth Avenue(and its immediate surroundings are underperforming) relative to the amount of choice and investment in the area. There are a number of new condos and development, spurred by the proximity to the F, G and R trains. Restaurants are continuing to move in, but on average the hit-to-miss ratio is one of the lowest in the City. Indian is a problem in New York outside of a couple of areas targeted at the diaspora(Flushing, Jackson Heights and some parts of Curry Hill), which under-spiced and overpriced dishes being the norm. Kanan’s not a terrible deal, but is there any reason why Park Slope has to be subjected to underwhelming curry, flat bread and straight-from-Sysco salad ingredients? I suspect this is primarily an takeout and delivery option, for the dining room was nearly completed deserted when we visited on a Sunday evening. That meant we received plenty of hovering — and had to do plenty of lying — and the quality of fare. If the neighborhood can’t produce a decent Indian restaurant, maybe it’s better to do without.

Note: While the address is correct, the map dot is coming out in the wrong spot. This basic Indian restaurant serves up tasty fare. I’ve sampled the paneer tikka and the channa sagwalla. The décor and ambiance isn’t appropriate for a date night, but the food is solid.

I order a few times a week from here. Their lamb biryani is amazing, and their malabar fish curry is out of the world. Delivery has always been prompt and food is very fresh. I am hooked!

I’ve ordered delivery from here a bunch of times and you really can’t go wrong. The food is good but it shines in comparison to how flat out awful most Indian restaurants are in the area. And they have never messed up the naan and that really makes or breaks an Indian place for me. I’ve ordered four or five different vegetarian items and I’ve noticed that occasionally an item doesn’t match the description on the menu exactly. As a vegetarian, I tend to read menus really closely… However, I can tell they are actually using fresh vegetables(re: the amazing vegetable jalfrezi) in the entrees so that might impact some items more than others. Additionally, the restaurant actually contacted me after I posted my original review and they noted that there might be some discrepancies on the Unilocal website when ordering(specifically the mysterious ‘add peas’ option).

Pros: Delivery is fast. Two chutneys came with my order. The CTM(chicken tikka masala) was acceptable. Cons: Price. Portions are too small for the huge price. No raita with the order, but the CTM was not too spicy, so no raita was needed. Samosas are small.

My fiancé and I ordered delivery from here on Seamless the other night and we were plesently surprised. We had no idea there was a solid Indian restaurant in our area. We ordered a couple different chicken dishes(curry and tikka masala), a couple different samosas, and a couple different naans. Prices were very reasonable(meals were about $ 12 each) and delivery time was good. The flavors were great and the chicken wasn’t all dried out as it often the case with mediocre Indian restaurants. The only two complaints we had is that the top of the container with my chicken curry was punctured somehow and it made a bit of mess in the bag and neither of our dishes had much spice to them despite mine being ordered as medium and hers as hot and spicy. We’ll definitely be ordering from them again.

Delicious and very tasty. I ordered Shrimp Baryani and Raita, I also had chicken Samosas. The taste was beyond my expectations. Everything was so balanced. I will order something more traditional like chicken Tikka Masala and definitely will write a review about it. By the way the delivery was so fast, in the matter of fact, I ordered and was thinking of taking a bath before the food arrives, I hesitated for some 5 – 10 mins, and the bell was ringing! awesome!

I just discovered this place thru Grubhub and I can’t stop ordering from here! I work in the area and was craving Indian. I got the all day special that comes with naan, an appetizer and entrée for 15 bucks. They arrived in like 20 minutes and the delivery guy was super nice. I got the tilapia curry and the lentil daal soup. Wow it was all so delicious! The curry had a great spice to it and tons of tilapia. The soup was very good and hearty. I was upset they forgot the side condiments but the next time I ordered all of them were in there so yay. If you order on Grubhub they let you use a 10 percent off coupon which is always awesome.

Two up. One of the best Indian food I had a craving for some delicious Indian food. Food that won’t disappoint and have great taste and flavor. So my company give me a heart warming birthday meal. Which I was soo grateful. So what the company ordered the kanan’s delivery special which include one appetizer, one entrée, rice and plain Naan So let’s talk about the appetizer I tried the reshmi Kabab. The chicken is tender. You can cut it with a butter nice. And all the flavors is very tasty. And for the chicken entrée I tried thr chicken makhani which was the best I tried. The chicken was very tender. The rice has great flavor, not plain. and the curry was delish. Not extremely spicy it was just right. And have a sweet cinnamon type flavor. The prices are very reasonable also. So here is my verdict. I really like this place. The delivery was very fast, a special shout out to the delivery guy for being nice, courteous and shows a great appreciation for his job.

I don’t know a lot about Indian food, but I know a little. And I have some kind of idea of what Indian food is often like in New York. There’s some good, and there’s a whole bunch of mediocre. Seems like every neighborhood has something like«Bombay Palace» that serves a lot of North Indian food that’s been geared to whatever the Hindi word for gringo is. Chicken Tikka Masala in a cream and ghee heavy sauce, super greasy samosas that have probably been fried and then refried to order. Kanan is different. In no way do I even claim to know what authentic is, but in the past few years, I’ve started to cook Indian at home due to the fact that most of what can be found in restaurants(without paying $ 18 for a dish) is mediocre at best. But I read a lot of recipes and have watched YouTube videos made by people who really know Indian food. And I try to copy them. Kanan is sort of like a good version of what I try to cook. Not as heavy, more focus on vegetables and spices, good rice. Inside is pretty boring. The staff is very nice, but it’s not somewhere you’d want to hang out. But the food is good and that’s what matters. I asked for my Chana Masala spicy, and it actually came with a bunch of spices in it. The Saag Paneer had an earthy flavor that I’m not sure I’ve ever tasted in Indian food before. Good stuff. Indian had kind of taken a backseat in my rotation of delivery places, but it’s back now.

An Indian spot that delivers to my office! Joy! Gave them their first try today, had the delivery special:1 app, 1 entrée, rice, bread and sauce for 14.95. Not a bad deal. Got the Chicken Samosas for my app. I am a big Samosas fan and this didnt let me down, sometimes Chicken Samosas can be dry but these were juicy and flavorful inside with that nice, crunch exterior. For main I got the old stand by Chicken Tikka Masala, it was a good version with large chunks of chicken in an aromatic sauce. A few coworkers went out in a Harold and Kumar quest for White Castle and upon returning were hovering around me like flies on a sweet roll. The rice was decent long grain, the naan bread was charred and chewy(both good things in naan bread). Very welcome addition to our lineup.
