I love this place for a few reasons. The food is really good but what makes it 5 stars is the reliability of jerk, location and generally it’s service.
Sometimes spots will or won’t have jerk depending on the time you go and the weather. This spot seems to always have jerk, rain or shine, and starting pretty early (noon). I went by a random jerk spot today at 4pm and they said no jerk yet. Then when?!
But the food here is quality Jamaican fare with some tasty drink options. I like the sorrel with ginger drink in the drink case. Not sure of the brand. I always get just jerk with Mac (add oxtail gravy) in the $ 10 size. It can make 4 reasonable meals or 2 large servings.
The tin sizes cater to all budgets with a $ 5, $ 10, $ 15 and $ 20 size. $ 15 and $ 20 are like small catering trays so expect to always spend $ 10 or less for lunch. Good deal.
It’s right near eastern parkway so it’s in a good location and easy to find. Seating is limited but doable in a pinch. Service is always pretty good, nothing amazing but consistent and that’s all I need.
