Best deli ever! The breakfast sandwiches are amazing, they have an awesome beer selection and some classy organic food and snacks. Hidden gem.

might be pricey, but we live in Brooklyn– amiright? But everyone there is super friendly, they have a nice selection of beer and the sandwiches are pretty darn tasty!

Been here twice now. Friend of mine lives down the block and I needed the relief that only a breakfast sandwich could provide. I was a little weary about a random Greenpoint bodega but why not? For 3.25 I got a large breakfast sandwich on a brioche that was really outstanding. Would defintinatly go back again.

This place is great if you wanna get ripped off. Go to any other deli/store and you’ll find cheaper prices. The sandwiched aren’t even that good. Jog on.

Just moved to NYC from LA/SF…my first go to Deli. Granted, I wish there was a veggie section, but he makes a mean sandwhich/burger with all the fixings if you’re in need of a quick bite. It’s pretty remote, but def better than any other place around the immediate area.

What can a person say? It’s a dingy little Greenpoint Mini Mart. Same stuff as every other mini mart has, and there is another one across the street and another one down the block. There are so damn many of these places in Greenpoint I have to re-think my conception of what a store really is.

Baller beer selection for a deli in the lonely part of the Heights. They have decent sandwiches, that are nothing to write home about. The people who work here seem pretty chilled out and nice. Only two things to talk of at this place, beer selection and closing time. They have a very large selection of beer from GreenFlash, Rogue, and many other microbrews to High Life. Problem is they close by 11pm every night, so you gotta do your beer run early enough otherwise you will be stuck in an area of the hood besides the bars that turns into a ghost town by 11.

Whenever I order a sandwich at John’s, the deli guy acts like I’ve just come in and commissioned him to repaint the Sistine Chapel. The sheer amount of enthusiasm this guy has for making sandwiches is astounding if not a little unsettling if you’ve never ordered something here before. I’ve made sandwiches for a brief time and I can tell you from experience that there’s no way you can be this happy doing this job. People come in, bark orders at you, change their stupid minds after you’ve already slathered mayo over their jalapenos peppers & ham and you just have to take their bullshit day after day after day… The only way this guy can be this happy about his job if he’s done some real grisly shit before and this is a dream job in comparison. If you’re in the neighborhood and want a sandwich with the greatest customer service you’ll ever receive, stop by.

If you live in the west end of Greenpoint, always keep John’s Deli and Grocery in mind for BEER. The deli… ehh…you’re typical boar’s head fare. The breakfast sandwiches are solid(and they have english muffins available as a bread choice… me likey). The grocery… eh…your typical chef boyardee and polish snacks. Nothing really to write home about. I often go here for ice cream. but the BEER! wow… I’m not talking just Zywiec/Polski type stuff. I’m talking about a WALL of delicious craft beers, all at great prices. All those heady brews you’d look for at your specialty beer stores. John will usually let you go with no credit card minimum too. Also, John’s is open until 11 every night, which is quite late for the far end of Greenpoint. Cheers.
