Phở and rice bowls are great, they taste super fresh and are very filling. I usually get the phở with tofu and vegetable broth which is around $ 10 but feels like a substantial amount for a main meal. Salads are a bit bland, made of all fresh ingredient and you can add on meat or tofu. I look forward to trying more stuff from their menu, definitely becoming a regular!

Quite possibly the worst location in Brooklyn. Was craving bubble tea so went to the Smith St location. Upon entering, the placed smelled like the garbage seriously needed to be taken out. The staff were rude and my taro was chalky and gross. Wound up throwing it out after a couple sips it was that bad. There are numerous locations of this Vietnamese snack/tea place but this location is best avoided. Dirty, rude and bad inferior quality.

Noisy, screaming children abound. The spring rolls are flavorless. The bahn mi is tiiiny — I would need 3 to get full. The phở is just ok. But it’s the only option for Vietnamese place in this area so I’m glad it’s here

You can not go wrong with Hanco’s Classic Vietnamese sandwiches. I had purchased the grilled pork sandwich and the taste was perfection. The prices are slightly on the expensive side at $ 8 with tax. The taste and portion is so worth it. Plenty of room to sit and enjoy your meal. I recommend having a Thai Ice Tea as well.

I usually like this place, and it’s one of the good restaurants in the neighborhood. But one time, I ordered like I usually do and when I brought it home I bit into it and it had veggies in it. I DIDNTORDERVEGGIES!!! I even asked for no veggies. WTF!!! I’m allergic to carrot, and there was one on a slice of ham. Luckily, I took it out before eating it. But I’m highly allergic to it, so I had to throw the sandwich out just in case there were any hiding. Overall, one of the worst restaurant experience of my life. Though, I do still like this place for some reason CLICKORCOPYANDPASTELINKFORMYREACTION:

This is my favourite place for cheat eats in Boerum Hill. The sandwiches are terrific and the phở is not too bad. I’m raving about Hanco’s because the vegetarian selection is so terrific. The veggie chicken is second to none; the veggie pork is damned tasty, too.(The tofu is only-so so.) Bonus: ask for your bahn mi on whole what. Not traditional, but delicious. Service can be slow during busy times, so it pays to call ahead(or order online) and get take out the lunch rush.

I’ve been meaning to stop by here but could never find the time. Today I left class a little early and decided to try it and I am sure this is probably the best decision I’ve made all year. I ordered an original sandwich and made it spicy to go. It smelled yummy, like the smell can permeate through both the brown paper bag and the plastic bag. The bread was warm and toasty, the veggies were crunchy and didn’t overpower the meat which wasn’t that spicy, but I have a high tolerance for spicy things. The sandwich looks so simple and I can’t understand or begin to try to explain what exactly it is that makes it amazing, but it is. It reminds me of a pork scallion pancake from Prosperity Dumpling(the best scallion pancake ever btw) with cilantro peeking up between bites and shredded lightly pickled carrots and cucumber toning down the sweet pork pieces, but this pork has no fat to it like the pork belly in a scallion pancake does. It’s like a fresh, Vietnamese philly cheese steak(meat texture wise). It’s a pretty good size too. There is no credit card minimum. The wait time wasn’t horrible. The seating is pretty ample. I have been telling everyone about it and I cannot wait to go back! Their soups seem to be really popular, everyone dining in had a bowl so I’ll try that next and maybe their bubble teas, but another sandwich is a must. I’ll probably go back before this week ends

Decent banh mi for around $ 8 but they use way too much butter on the bread. I bit into a huge chunk of butter which was both kind of delicious and kind of disgusting. The pickled vegetables were pretty good but overall the sandwich was rather bland… and buttery. Not the best banh mi I’ve had but probably the only option for one in the area.

Been here many times since it’s a block away from my apt. Their grilled chicken is one of my favorites. whether it’s in phở, banh mi or on rice. I prefer the sandwiches over anything else but the phở usually hits the spot when you need a post-drinking or hangover cure. Their bubble tea is pricey($ 4.50) and doesn’t compare to Chinatown so I usually forgo getting the BT.

Hancos has been a favorite spot of mine for 4 years now. The prices are cheap. The sandwiches are bomb. The phở is bomb. The taro tea is bomb. The bubble tea is bomb. There’s a punch card here for the teas. Make sure you pick one up. You won’t be dissapointed by Hancos.

Five stars for classic banh mi and 3.5 for phở. They serve the best tasting banh mi in NYC. I had the traditional(ground pork and pâté) and grilled pork — both were fantastic but the classic is the winner. The bread is perfectly crispy, light, and filled with mountains of pork and pickles. Phở was good, but was not very memorable compared to banh mi. I could eat there every single day.

Not bad at all. I went here today with a friend and got the grilled pork Bahn Mi and a Honeydew bubble tea. My friend got the beef broth Phở with beef and Taro bubble tea. My meal was really good, the pork was nice and meaty with a good amount of sauce, the bread was toasted to perfection and I loved the way the daikon/cucumbers/carrots tasted. My only complaint is that the sandwich could definitely be better constructed. As Peter D. said, you definitely have to eat V-style. I had the veggies coming out of one end of the sandwich falling to my plate and got a huge mouthful of the ones that didn’t fall but with no meat when I took a bite the«normal» way. And $ 7 for one is kinda steep, but I get that they have to pay employees, rent and other stuff. The bubble tea was pretty good, I got so much green tea flavor that for me it competed with the flavor of honeydew, so it could’ve been a bit stronger. However, I did have some delish honeydew burps* for a few hours after I was done, so I guess that’s a plus? My friend loved his Phở, I thought it was pretty good too. His taro bubble tea was seriously good, it was so creamy it was on a low-grade milkshake level. When I go back, definitely getting it. Plus we scored those plush seats by the window, and were comfy af! That’s how everyone should eat their food– in a nice, plush chair. *If you like fruity burps, this is the one for you. If not, seriously rethink your life.

I was craving some warm soup to make my cold symptoms feel better. I was sneezing all day and even had to call in sick. I found this spot and ordered some phở. The broth was very oily and tasteless. I did not taste the type of broth where it takes hours and hours of prepping and cooking. The vermicelli had a nice chewy texture, however, I had to put lots of hoison and some hot sauce(can’t put so much because I was sick) to make the broth to have some taste. Overall, I do not think I will be coming here again to have expensive, tasteless phở again. By expensive, I mean $ 12 – 13 for a bowl of phở.

Ooh, this place is very nice. I ordered their classic sandwich, with their Thai bubble tea. The bubble tea had more ice than tea, but it was still good. I sat here for about three hours watching people walk by. Great location near subway station, good café music, good food, friendly staff, free wi-fi, spacious, ANDCLEANBATHROOM. :)

We walked by and saw this place on Unilocal so we decided to get a quick snack. The wait time was terribly long, we ordered a classic bahn mi and probably waited for like 15 mins. The sandwich itself was good, the bread was crunchy and toasted perfectly. I reckon they buttered the bread a lot, cause it was deliciously greasy. The meat was good and the portion is huge. I’ll probably be back next time, but wish they could balance the seamless orders, sit down orders and to-go orders better.

Though this place has been here for a long time, and we’ve seen it in passing many times, we never gave it a try and never gave it a thought. Truth be told, we didn’t think banh mi in this area would be as good as it was here. On this particular day, we need a quick cheap bite before a big family dinner later on the in evening. So we popped into Hanco’s, had a grilled chicken sandwich shared between us and an iced coffee. First impression, the banh mi was packed! Much meat, so much toppings, such yum. The flavor was great and consistent with any authentic banh mi place. The sandwich was hot and crispy in all the right places and the taste was perfect. We were so glad to tried out this place and kind of sad we missed it in the past at other times we were in the area. This is one of those places we definitely need to hit up again.

Probably the best bahn mi you can find in this area. Absolutely delicious and authentic Vietnamese food all around. There is no way you can come here, get the bahn mi or phở and not be happy. It’s a winner all around. I’ve tried the grilled pork bahn mi and the original, and honestly the grilled pork is ten times better. Paying for extra meat is worth it. and the Phở is flawless. I would have this every other day if I lived in the area, especially with the winter season coming up.

Stumbled upon here with a few of my girls because we were getting brunch somewhere else but the wait was really long. We were starving and really wanted bubble tea after passing by Hanco’s on the way to our brunch spot. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much from this place — I don’t know many good places that serve both bubble tea and Vietnamese food together and can do it right. I decided to get the large Taro bubble tea. When it came out, I thought it was going to be much bigger because it usually is at other places. But I enjoyed it very much and the tapioca balls were good. My girls and I tried the Banh Mi sandwich and to my surprise, it was delicious. It was different from the Classic Banh Mi I’m used to(there’s the addition of ground pork, instead of all sliced meat). The sandwich is very short in length but don’t that that fool you because the sandwich is wider than usual. I would say the only downside to this place is that the prices are a bit higher than other spots that I go to. Overall, I was a fan of Hanco’s. The ambiance is chill and our food came out at a reasonable amount of time. If I’m in the area, I will definitely come back to check out more items from the menu.

Hanco’s NY Brooklyn Cobble Hill 1pm Thursday 7th May 2015 Five Stars It’s best $ 15 meal that you can get. I am so ridiculously full right now. I had the vermicelli salad with grilled chicken($ 8.75). There was Plenty of Rice Noodles, Lettuce, Cucumber And Mint Leaves. It was then topped with Roasted Peanuts, Fried Red Onion and served with a Vinaigrette on the side. It was so fresh and light and yet so filling. But since I am a glutton, I also ordered a classic Vietnamese Sandwich which is normally called a Bahn Mi. They take a toasted French baguette slathered it with mayo and butter. Then it stuffed with Pâté, Ham and Ground Beef and topped with thinly cut carrots, daikon, cilantro, and jalapeños. There is so many textures and flavors but it all seems to work in this amazing way. If you haven’t had one, you need to try one now.
