Hair Care by Yolanda

I cannot recommend Yolanda highly enough, whom I discovered by chance when a friend recommended her in response to my moaning about my expensive-​but-​mediocre regular haircutter. Yolanda gave me one of the best haircuts of my life. Really. And besides that she’s a lovely, warm person. After you visit her unpretentious «old Brooklyn» salon, you’ll feel very sorry for those people who pay $ 300 for a cut or color at places like Bumble & Bumble.

I went because my sister goes and she said it was good quality for low cost. I was charged $ 60 for a trim. If you need a trim go to the nail salon around the corner… at least they are nice.

I have to finally write a review. When I moved here from Philadelphia many years ago, I was sad to leave my stylist Giovanni Pele. He is still a god, but I don’t have the time or schedule that would allow me to go down there for special trips. I fumbled my through many Manhattan’s top salons over the years, and have never been completely happy. I feel too many of the salons such as Bumble and Bumble or Arroyo try to push their vision or version of what they want you to have instead of really listening to the client. I have had really expensive bad color over the years.
I started seeing Jennifer when my son started school at PS 130. She was a colorist at a top salon in Manhattan, and this is her mother’s salon. Jennifer only works on Saturdays and cares for ever growing family during the week. She listens to what you want. When I am inarticulate, she intuitively knows what I am trying to get to. Her highlights and color are beautiful. I tried a different version of Ombré this weekend, and I am so happy with my hair that I can’t stop playing with it! Jennifer will also be honest with you and will let you know if a a certain service or color is not for you — when you can wait to cover your grey or it’s time!
I have had my hair blown out by Yolanda for special occasions, and I am always happy. I love the family atmosphere and it’s always warm and inviting.

Yolanda consistently gives me the best haircuts I’ve ever had. So much better than any upscale Manhattan salons I’ve been to. Try one of her cuts and you’ll never want to go anywhere else. And her prices are incredibly reasonable.

I have been going to Hair Care by Yolanda for years. I have never had anything but awesome cuts & perfect coloring done. Everyone there is extremely talented. I have recommended Yolanda’s to everyone I know. All have been nothing but satisfied. No matter the type of hair you have Yolanda & Jen are extremely talented stylists.

I have been a client at Hair Care by Yolanda for over 3 years. I was worried about finding someone in Brooklyn after moving from LA. I don’t have to worry at all now that I have Jennifer!!! I have struck gold!!! I leave the salon with hair that I would have to go to Manhattan to get! Her work is amazing!
She just knows what to do for you, the minute you sit down in the chair. She really is an artist. One time, after Jennifer did my hair, I had a whole mommy group approach me. They asked if Jennifer would help them get out of the «mommy look and back to their sexy look pre-​baby.
This salon is so warm and welcoming as soon as you walk in you feel like you are at home. I can’t say enough about what an amazing gem Hair Care by Yolanda is and how lucky it is to have found a hairdresser like Jennifer.

Great hair salon for the neighborhood. Quality service and totally reasonable price. Always feel welcome there.
