This is for the TOGO side: the tacos were decent. The chicken was not tender(probably a bit over grilled) and did not have any dominating flavors except the garnishes. The fish(beer battered catfish) was good but light on the portion. The steak tacos had more meat and had more flavor. The Mexican corn was a bit dry but decent. The beverages come in very small cups(over priced for $ 3.00!) BYO –drink! Beer is $ 5.00 — single selection(Sol Beer). I may try the sit down Habana Outpost across the street.

Great place to go solo or with a group. The food is really good, the rice needs some salt; but it’s understandable to add yourself. The prices are good just if your getting any seafood it will be a bit more. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

I ordered the Cuban sandwich which could of been good if it wasn’t dripping in oil. My daughter had pork taco… let’s just say everything was in oil. Will come for the drinks in the summer and the corn thats it!!!

First I want to say the cashier working today(Wednesday) was really friendly and attentive I ordered a chicken taco and a steak taco. The chicken was grilled, I wouldn’t expect that kind of chicken in a taco. The steak taco was yummy, flavor was good. I enjoyed it, will more than one next time. I also ordered the chorizo with rice and beans plate, it was alright. It was all cooked good, flavor was good, chorizo didn’t blow me away. Not bad though and wait time wasn’t bad either. I actually got green salsa as a side. A bit bland and watery for me. Not a bad experience.

Easily the most bland, dried-out food every time I go here. Across the street is okay, built on a scene. But To Go has no scene, and can’t even get flavor right. Usually I’d give a more detailed and specific review but I can’t because… the food… it’s just… blah…and uninspiring. The chicken fingers and the corn helped salvage this review, and most meal attempts here.

Much faster wait than Habana Outpost across the street. You have the option of takeout or chilling on bar stools along the wall. $ 10 credit card minimum.

I usually go to the solar power Habana Outpost on the other side but considering its not the season, the TO-GO spot is the next alternative. I’ve had nothing but great experiences and tasty bold flavors at the outdoor location so I assumed all would be the same. My friend offered to pay for our meals since my birthday was the day before. I vouched for this place based on the restaurant on the other side. The décor looked the same, the staff was very friendly and inviting. They entertained our questions about the menu and ingredients etc. Everything was checking out. I came up to the register asking how long the location has been around, embarrassed that I didn’t notice this TO-GO spot had been here for almost 2 years?! I live nearby, guess I wasn’t looking at that side of the street whoops! I ordered a Chicken Chipotle burrito and my friend order the Fish burrito. They also ordered the classic corn on a cob. Timing wise our order came out with a typical waiting time, not too fast that you think they prepped everything ahead AND not too long for one to get impatient. So in that regards the line was sufficient. My friend was so hungry they happily ate the corn as we walked to the train. Ate almost half their burrito, hungry to satisfy a craving/appetite but was rather lack-luster. We searched the bag for any hot sauce or condiments to kick it up a notch(but nothing was packed, not even napkins). They were starving so they kept eating in hopes to reach the fish, but half way through they finally got a bite and were disappointed by the protein. We ended up going back to make a complaint. They explained that it was not meat as they feared(pescatarian) but in fact was what they ordered, & perhaps they didn’t like the«beer-batter» and/or it broke up oily and in pieces. I value & appreciate them handling the situation VERYWELL! Thank you! They offered to make them something else but they didn’t feel confident trying anything more so they refunded their money. I waiting until I got home to eat my burrito, they ended up picking up something else to eat. On the otherhand, my meal was superb, my chicken mole burrito was yummy! The flavors were locked in, had that roasted, mesquite smokey flavor one expects of «mole». The layering of the burrito was on point… lettuce, tomato, etc all wrapped tightly/compact. Tortilla wrap was soft and easily to handle without any mess. It had the combination of warm flavorful meat to the crunch of the fresh veggies and garnish. Although I wish I had some sauce to add to the flavors, the chicken mole burrito tasted great as is. My first experience here isn’t going to write me off from returning, perhaps the fish isn’t as good as the other options… that’s all. I can recommend the quesadillas, as I saw plenty of orders being prepared and served while we waited for our order. I definitely like their margaritas, and their burritos are good perhaps it just wasn’t the quality I was expecting from the restaurant, after all it is a TO-GO place. Next time I will try tacos, quesadillas or the famous Cuban sandwich! I also should have ordered a corn on the cob too! Until next time HTG!

Good choice when the real Habana accross the street is closed or overpopulated. Festive atmosphere. The servers are always nice. I always tend to get the frozen Pina Colada(not a to go good choice because of the alcohol). Foodwise, they have a lot of reasonably priced choices: the fish taco for 3.50, tostones for 3.75(big portion by the way, I got full just off of that). Overall just a good to go spot for a quick meal.

I wouldn’t say the food was all that. It was ok! The rice was soggy I’m sorry. If rice isn’t cooked well your entire plate is no Bueno. I ate my lunch and decided to just leave! I would only have drinks and chips here. Maybe even tacos. Because I enjoyed that the most. I actually wish I ordered several tacos instead of rice and beans. I was trying to channel Chipotle because they have been contaminated lately. It didn’t work! The girl at the register is pretty nice and welcoming so they get an A+ for that because she is the first impression of your business! And if I smell a hint of rudeness I’m usually out the door and I won’t return. So because of her… maybe I’d return one day in the future and try something else. If you stop by have a glass of the margarita. I had a sampler and it was yummy. I wish we were allowed to take it to go!

The service at this corner sandwich joint was good, however the Cubano sandwich which as the sign in the window said was«voted the best cubano in New York» was not the case. There was way too much meat in it for my taste and it did not seem like the bun was grilled which is how all of the cubanos I’ve had have been prepared. This review is based solely on this experience.

I’ve only ever been to the takeout counter across the street from the real restaurant. It’s great: they have stools to sit in. The food is amazing. The rice is so delicious I could eat tons of it. The quesadillas and tacos are good. I love the colorful atmosphere and friendly vibe.

Ordered the Avocado and White Cheese burrito. Asked for it without onions and tomatoes. Hardly any cheese, and NO avocado. Really bland.

All I can say is that the atmosphere is breezy and fun, and the staff were cool. We got the cuban sandwich, and you should too. And the corn, duh. The service was not so great. It took foreeeeeeeever, even with almost no one else in the place. And it’s a little pricey for a take-out joint.

Nothing spectacular about Habana on the go… Space is incredibly small and there is always a crowd. Have been to Habana dozens of times and what brings me here is the corn! They have gotten sloppy with service but as demand rises service decreases. Hubby enjoyed his magarita and fish taco. Fish was bland but the toppings saved it, same with my pork taco. Super dry but the toppings made it tasty. Currently waiting for a 2nd corn!

The place is small with stools along the wall to sit. Looking for a restaurant that can accommodate families close to Barclay’s my husband and I decided to go to Havana To Go. At first he was skeptical since there were no tables but once the food was out he changed his mind. He got the cheeseburger, my youngest got a grilled corn and myself got the steak platter. Oh boy my children who are used to white rice LOVED the flavor of the yellow rice and the black beans so much they almost ate all of mine. The corn was devoured and so was the rest of the meal. I also had a café con leche that was delish! We will be coming back!

As stated by others, service does usually suck here but maybe since it’s a take out spot service isn’t meant to be a strength. The«cashiers» often times seem irritated or annoyed or preoccupied and somewhat upset that I just have to disrupt their convos with my need for tacos and rice. Not always but often. Good place for a quick bite.

Used to get delivery from here all the time but I found that the service decreased drastically with each other. I just placed an order for lunch and it took over 1.5 hours for the food to be delivered(average delivery time is usually around 15 – 20 minutes). When I called to inquire why it’s taking so long, the person from Habana To Go said they received«four orders at the same time». Protip: If you can’t handle four simultaneous orders, you really should not be in the restaurant business.

This is a savior when across the street is too packed with sightseers and girls looking for husbands. This outlet serves it’s purpose. You can even grab a quick margarita(no flavors) Not many seats by the way… it is takeout.

I was craving a Cuban Sandwich and Mexican Corn. What could be better than getting the two most popular dishes. It’s very good at the Manhattan location, so I thought the Brooklyn location would be good as well. This location is more of to go or on the go. Be lucky if you are able to grab a stool and eat. This place gets crowded easily. Food takes a while to come out depending on how many customers are in here. 1. Fish Tacos– Beer battered catfish, shredded cabbage, pico de gallo, salsa verde, and homemade salsa negra. The Fish Tacos were decent. Nothing to rave about. Grab some hot sauce on the side to add more taste and flavor. 2. Grilled Corn Mexican Style–«Their Specialty» Grilled Corn with cheese all over the corn. Only the best tasting corn ever!!! 3. Cuban Sandwich–(Voted Best in NYC) fresh roast pork, ham, swiss cheese, pickle, chipotle mayo, on a hero bread. Really disappointing to me. Came out very cold. It was barely toasted. Cheese wasn’t melted. It was like an ordinary sandwich you would get at a local deli. The really good Cuban Sandwiches will make you think it is the best in NYC. Not this one. Stick with the Manhattan location or just get the Mexican Corn.
