I call this place«the ghettomat» but my bf & I continue to go here because it’s cheap, close(ish) to our place, there are a ton of machines and it seems to always be open late. Cons: — Run by a grouchy Asian couple who seem to love turning all 5 fuzzy TVs up to full volume and all to different stations(Chinese religious programming on one, a Spanish game show on another…). Their English is poor to nonexistent, which makes asking questions or trying to get any help a real challenge. — The soda/bottled water machine will eat your money! Do not use! — Machines tend to be randomly broken and by the time you realize it(i.e. after you’ve had your clothes in the dryer 40 mins only to realize the dryer was not producing any heat), all you can really do is shrug and try a different dryer. Pros(??): — Prices are relatively cheap & there are a zillion machines — I’ve never had to wait for a washer or dryer — Plenty of places to sit — Random arcade games in the back — Guaranteed urban theater every time you go in: whether it’s a group of young men smoking enormous blunts just outside the open back door(contact high!), or a homeless dude serenading everyone(«I don’t wanna go to reeee-hab!») as we fold our undies, you will usually have a story(or a splitting headache) by the time your clothes are clean.
