Want to love this place, but FOOD POISONING ALERT.
I had a pleasant lunch here and enjoyed what I ate and the atmosphere. Within an hour, I had an intense stomach pain and subsequent grosser symptoms of food poisoning. Believe me, I knew it was from this lunch.
I called Gather, thinking they’d be grateful for the warning to other customers, and hoping they’d immediately stop serving those dishes for the day, make a new batch. The person I reached offered no such reassurance. His response? ‘I’m sorry to hear that, but we haven’t had any other complaints.’ You’d think one would be enough, right?
I also asked politely if they would consider refunding me for the dishes in question. This would have been easy enough to do as I paid with a credit card. Again, no such luck.
I am struggling to understand how poorly Gather handled this, in addition to the initial food poisoning! Leaving two stars only because the other food and drinks look good.

Love Gather — a great addition to the neighborhood with healthful and creative dishes. I especially enjoy their salads — not just your standard but veggie salads that are seasonal and yummy. I ordered the avocado toast with poached egg and loved. Only gripe would be that it was $ 10. But I did enjoy and eat every last morsel!

This place has the best food. For the longest time I walked by this place thinking it was just a tea place. Their Mac and cheese is delicious and their Choc chip cookies are great. I had a coconut curry lentil soup that was amazing and a sweet potato/​avocado/​cilantro/​black bean sandwich that was awesome as well. Their cakes and corn bread and muffins and other savory dishes seem to change a lt but there’s almost always been something that poked great for us to try. My kids love this place too.

My favorite coffee spot in Park Slope. Love the white and bright interior, clean and stylish. The espresso drinks and iced chai tea latte’s are always delicious!

The quality of the food, great coffee, the great caring service (I usually go weekday mornings), the cleanliness, and the cool vibe factor is top notch. Only possible drawback is that it isn’t cheap (but quality is there), and sometimes they are a bit too fancy in their muffin /​scone /​other baked goods flavors. Nothing wrong with just a good ol Blueberry muffin sometimes.

Almost walked right past this place! But I peeked through a window and saw it was cute inside. I ordered a ginger lavender latte. Never had one of those before. It was really good. I usually only order a drink if they have organic soy or almond or coconut milk but I couldn’t pass this up. It was super good. Unique. Glad I found this place.

Healthy light bites and well– crafted hot drinks blended in a warm, Park Slope vibe. I tried the turmeric latte which was delicious. The coffee drinks are served with artfully marked tops. There are baked goods and unusual breakfast and lunch bowls.

Stopped in for a cup of coffee the other day. Luke warm and old. Be weary of coffee outside of peak hours. It’s probably been sitting around. Check before you leave.

I’m really disappointed to write this review because for the most part my experience at gather has been very positive until today. As I sat down and opened up my computer I asked the employee at the front, a rather portly gentleman with glasses, the password. He then went on to ignore me and continued to set up the muffins in the front, and after 3 seconds of awkwardness, he replied without looking at me «the network is… Can I get you a drink?». Implying his annoyance. After 10 more minutes in which I still couldn’t figure out what was going on I went up to let him know the internet wasnt working and he said «sorry about that» and continued to set up said muffins and ignore me. I’m really disappointed, I have always had a positive experience at gather until today.

Had the hot chocolate with almond milk! The BEST hot chocolate I’ve had! The flavor was so delicious and lingered on my tongue from the richness and complexity of the chocolate. They have delicious lattes here, too. Intelligentsia is an incredible company with integrity, which is the espresso/​coffee they carry. They had a chocolate chip GF cookie that was making me drool, yet didn’t want to OD on sugar. It looked thick and hearty, unlike some GF type cookies. The caramel vanilla cake looked delicious, too. Next time!

I came here to try the coffee. You really can’t go wrong with Intelligentsia Coffee, but if the barista doesn’t know what to do with it, then you’re going to have a bad cup of coffee. The baristas at Gather clearly know their stuff and made a beautiful latte. The coffee is a bit pricey but worth it if you’d like an every once and while treat! The baked goods look tasty, but I did not try them. I’ll have to go back and try them some time!

Their coffee is good, but I hate the vibe of this place. It’s always super crowded, the line is confusing, the other customers are rude & pushy, and the staff always treat me poorly. I’m not sure why I receive such poor service from the staff, as I’m always polite, but maybe it’s because I’m not a regular customer? That’s still not an excuse to treat me like they do, though.
Anyway, the last time I was here, I ordered an iced latte, paid for it, and stood right by the counter to wait for it. I was standing completely in both workers’ lines of vision, but they kept ringing up new customers. I saw customer after customer get their drinks. At first, I thought that maybe these customers had simpler orders, but I saw cappuccinos & other drinks that were similar to an iced latte. I’m not very pushy, so I waited a few more minutes, but finally, I had to say something. I very politely informed the guy behind the counter that I’d been waiting much longer than others and didn’t even see him preparing my latte. He looked disgusted & upset with me, never offered so much as an apology (and honestly, I believe I should have been refunded for my wait), and barely looked me in the eye when he handed me my order.
Although this was the worst I’ve been treated, I’ve never felt welcomed here, and I won’t be back after this incident.

Love the homemade fig bar and daily rotating muffins. They are the best!!! And I’ve tried lots of muffins over my lifetime.
The salads are super tasty too and so are the soups.
A great spot to stop in for a quick breakfast or lunch.
I would give 5 stars but prices are high especially for lunch.

I’ve finally decided to write my review, after the terrible rip-​off experience I had here last summer.
I can’t believe that places like Gather have the nerve to charge outrageous prices for prepared, mediocre food. Just because you’re in Park Slope or Brooklyn does not give you the right to take advantage of people here! And they are quite slick and deceiving by showing prices by the QUARTER pound in such tiny writing that you could barely read the «¼». Yes you heard it, not by pound or even half pound.
After a couple of pieces of fried chicken and two small sides, our order came out to close to $ 25!

The Brooklyn taco wars have a serious new contender… Mexican brunch Sunday at Gather. 3 abodo chicken tacos for $ 8! Now that’s good taco value! In fact, at a sub $ 3 per taco level, this may very we’ll be the best price/​quality taco ratio in the neighborhood. Top it of with a walnut, chocolate and sea salt cookie and you know what you got? Yes, a meal worthy of 4 stars. And now that they seemed to have replaced their high strung staff with some more laid back folks, I might come around more often.

Let me start by saying that GATHER does not serve GMO free, Organic milk. They also use Almond Breeze/​Silk brands for the non dairy products. For the prices, and neighborhood location, they most definitely should do this. I was really disappointed to find out that they do not. Especially with their marketing technique. Come on, Gather, it’s park slope, this should change!
I love how they have benches outside so I can sit outside and eat breakfast on the bench with my dogs. The macaroni and cheese, kale salad, fried chicken is delicious.

Easily spottable with its bright teal exterior, Gather is my go-​to refuge from strollerville Park Slope.
I have a thing for warm, doughy baked goods and Gather does not disappoint. I’ve had the cheddar biscuits, the cinnamon chocolate chip scones and the chocolate chip cookies. All were decandent.
The space is large, even for Brooklyn, with seating all along the perimeter of the shop. I see it as a perfect space to get a little studying or reading done.

Really nice! Coffee is strong but good. I just had a zucchini lemon spicy corn bread and it was really delicious.
Atmosphere and design is lovely; service is quick and gentle. There are just few tables, but you can get plenty of quick meal and snacks to go.

This little eatery looks bland from the outside — very clean, a little too «juice bar.» But the inside is pretty cute, with warm lighting and teeny tiny café tables. A decent choice in Park Slope for sitting and munching while catching up with a friend… or a newspaper.
It’s also a good way to negotiate the situation where only half the party is hungry and going to a proper restaurant feels like too much fuss. They have basic café items (pastries, tea, Intelligentsia coffee) as well as more legit food (breakfast, sandwiches, salads, lunchy casserole things like veggies and mac n cheese).
I didn’t try any of the real food, but it all looks great. Think «Dig Inn»: fresh and fast with an emphasis on healthy, but still thoroughly American in style.
My latte was not bad at all. The bread pudding would’ve benefited from a few seconds in a microwave, but it was still delightful. For teas, they provide a tea strainer in the mug even though the teas are bagged… strange.
The line moves slowly, but the staff seem happy and friendly.
I’m of the belief that everyone needs to quit creaming themselves over kale, but admittedly the kale salad did look awesome.

First of all the space is a nice little open atmosphere with small little tables and stools. Not good for a formal dinner (which this place is not designed for) but ideal for coffee and quick meals. I like the green and white and they play French music during the AM which solidifies the café feel.
The food is pretty decent, take out speciality food. I had a savory breakfast sandwich which consisted of hard boiled eggs sliced on a bed of tomatoes and leafy greens with caper mayo on french bread. Pretty good! For a later time meal I tried the mac and cheese with Tillamook cheddar topped with Panko bread crumbs which was a little better with some salt and hot sauce. The kale salad is excellent and it reminds of «things park slope likes» in that it consists of kale, almond pieces, quinoa, and dried cherries.
The vanilla pecan bread pudding with butterscotch glaze is awesome.
