My Family and I all get haircuts here! Connie does a great job. My younger son is especially particular about his hair. He will only let Connie cut his hair. She does exactly what you ask her to do. The salon is clean and everyone is very nice.

This salon was okay from my first visit late spring. Now it’s by far the worst salon I’ve visited and keeps going down hill in terms of filth and lack of professionalism. The salon is dirty and smells. The girls are loud and rowdy and it’s very apparent that they don’t get along with the way they bicker. Aaliyah is by far the worst and is very very bad for business. She is loud, the cursing and ghettonomics and has no sense of what she’s doing(go back to school please). The other girl at the front Nesha whose boyfriend is always hanging out in the salon fooling around(very very bad for business). The loud music playing and people reaching over you when you’re doing your hair(very bad for business) I feel sorry for the owner because soon the salon or shop I should say will go under. Clean up the place! There are too many idle hands in the salon.

I’m going to give credit where credit is due. Hairstylist Nesha does a great classic weave(side or middle part with some leave out) for a reasonable price — $ 100. I decided to try something new(flip over) and it really didn’t look right. With curls the hair looked fantastic but when those curls fell, bumps were clearly noticeable. There was no way I would be comfortable rocking that style. I called the manager about an hour later to inform her about my issues. She was very polite and asked me to come back in two days to rectify the issue. Rock this bump for two days? No way. Apparently Nesha was fully booked for the rest of the day so that evening I went to another salon to get the hair taken out. When I go back to the salon two days later the manager told me I should have left the hair in for her to see.(Two days with bad hair? I think not). I showed her a couple photos I took and she said they would re-do my hair but since 1. I requested that style and 2. Because of the hairstylist’s lost time I would have to pay $ 50. I didn’t make a big deal out of it, because like she said I requested that style. I agree with that 100%. However I do believe it’s the hairstylists job to guide the customer. Maybe this style works well with curly hair, but doesn’t look all that great with straight hair. So the moral of the story is sometimes you just need to pay a bit more when you want a quality experience. I won’t be going back to Finishing Touch. I’ll be paying more money for a seamless install, quality service and a stylist that’s honest and offers great advice.

Aesthetically the salon is very pretty. Painted in Tiffany blue. Very modern with comfortable seats and space. However, it was dirty inside and 90 degrees yesterday with no sight of an air conditioner, there was only a large fan circulating hot heat. Most of the stylist are very young and some are immature, rude and obnoxious. One kept pacing back and forth wearing coochie cutters, while simultaneously throwing up gang signs. As if she was very attention seeking. The individual that did my hair was also very young with a disgusting disposition with horrible customer service. I was given an appointment, although I arrived early and thought I would be seen at my appointment time. Wrong! I had to wait 3 hours after my scheduled appointment only for her to rush me out of her chair to get to a walk-in client. Since this was my 1st time(last time too!) I was there, I had a few questions for the stylist which is typical and okay because I’m paying for a service. And I needed to know how she was going to do my hair. Ask questions first not after-the-fact. However, with my questions relating to a closure(1st timer) install, braiding down my long hair etc, I received snide responses which were not called for. Replies like: «let me handle me and mines.» Whatever that is supposed to mean. That didn’t stop and it became worse as the other stylist left for the evening and she was the only stylist present. She wouldn’t stop talking. Between her nasty remarks and other things. She just kept blabbing about wanting to get the gang member in the coochie cutters fired, the salon owner won’t listen because she’s stupid and how she knows the owner of a hair supplier(fab dolls-great hair btw) and always gets referrals from them. But what is even more bizarre, is that fact that she complained that I spent $ 135 on a silk based closure from fab dolls and I should have purchased a laced based closure for $ 85 from the salon where she works at. Which is funny because they keep sending her referrals! But she doesn’t like their products or prices. Hmmm. Anyways. Just on, and on and on. Nothing she had to say had any importance or even made sense. I couldn’t even respond to any of her stupidity and couldn’t wait to leave. The weave she installed wasn’t even okay. Closure has opening in the front and you can see my braids!(Pictures of opening below). The price was cheap. Suppose I got what I paid for. Her customer service is subpar mediocre, to say the least. I usually pay close to $ 200 for an install, but my stylist wasn’t available. I’d rather pay $ 100 more than to sit in someone’s chair and be insulted. Don’t go here unless you are comfortable with being insulted, like gang members or want to sit in filth. Worst salon experience ever. Don’t waist your time on Aaliyah.
